With all due respect for my university teachers , i hope they all can teach like you do.This is not about knowledge, but about the ability to transfer it .Well done !
I myself am a practicing surgeon having done thousands of groin hernia and hydrocele surgeries, both open and laparoscopic methods,. Going through this video was an amazing experience and i have relearnt the anatomy afresh and very clearly. Thanks for sharing this amazing video. Kindly permit me to recommend this video to my medical school students.
This video is so amazing. Explained the anatomy of the inguinal canal & anatomy of direct, indirect and femoral hernia in a very simple yet detailed way. 6 years in faculty of medicine. First time I understand them! Thank you so much Dr.Akram.
With all due respect for my university teachers , i hope they all can teach like you do.This is not about knowledge, but about the ability to transfer it .Well done . you are true master . i love you and you are proud of all the doctors
I am a registered nurse doing my Honours degree in perioperative nursing. I am researching a case study on inguinal hernias. I have been searching to understand this anatomy and finding it very difficult. I am so grateful to have found your lesson. I finally have the grasp on the anatomy that I have been searching for. Thank you very much. Alison Rothery
This vid can't be praised enough. I am a fith year medical student and only know did I clearly understand this complicated anatomical region. Thanks a lot
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! It means a lot coming from a general surgeon. I’m glad you found the video helpful. God bless you as well, and wishing you success in your work!
Excellent work. It took me hours to decipher what my books were saying about the inguinal canal and I ended up memorizing it without really understanding. Ten minutes of this video, and I fully understood what those books were trying to say, despite the language differences between us. Thanks a lot.
im lucky to be your student and attending this lecture with you in class and sketching the drawings on my notebook as you explained on the board. this video helped me revise and understand the inguinal hernias for the surgery exam i miss anatomy thank you a lot جزاك الله خيراً
the video helped me to revise the anatomy of inguinal region for the MBBS exam. thanks doctor for your huge efforts, am really proud to be one of your students.
Dear Dr. Jaffar ..you are a god gifted teacher and have immense talent . Thank you so much for these anatomy videos. They helped me a lot to prepare and pass my emergency medicine primary exam. Kind Regards Melbourne Australia
Respected sir warm regards my wife is an anatomist but she refused to teach me anatomy then I am finding your videos as a boon they are awesome and regards to you as your student
Dr Jaffar does a fine job here, but I'm surprised the number of people who's med-school professors couldn't teach this just as well as he did. Our prof. explained this just fine and any prof. who couldn't should find a different profession.
The best lecture.. After going through various lecture on inguinal canal on various channels.. Found this was the one which clarified all my doubts. Thank you so much.. Much recommended by me..
amazing vedios, I watched it when I was in final year medical school for surgery exam , and now after 4 years I watching again for mrcs exam , God bless you ,thnx.
Hi ,,,im a final year med student from sri lanka....enjoyed all ur episodes........helps me a lot in revising my anatomy..realy really good......hope to see more clips in da future
This is the best explanation of inguinal region, really helped me understand the anatomy and the related hernias. I was having a lot of difficulty but thanks to you its all simplified and easy now. (Y) (Y) (Y)
• External iliac artery (femoral and inferior epigastric) is located at midway between ASIS and pubic symphysis (x). • Deep inguinal ring is located above midpoint of inguinal ligament (from ASIS and pubic tubercle) (y). • (x) is longer than (y) because pubic symphysis is medial to pubic tubercle. • Half (x) is longer than half (y). • (x) is located medial to (y). • Therefore, inferior epigastric artery (at x) is located medial to deep inguinal ring (at y).
Thank you very much for such an excellent lecture! It saved me lots of time to go through the anatomy books again. I am studying for an upcoming exam in emergency medicine. Thanks again!
Mate you are amazing!! so detailed, yet explained so eloquently. This lecture really helped me put together all my basic understanding of the anatomy in the inguinal region to a more clinically appropriate understanding. Thanks!!
Thanks for this great video, best explanation for this complex anatomy in the whole youtube :) I wish there is an animation to visualize it more closely to the real shape it has. Anyway many thanks
Thank you so much for the explanation. It is a hard topic to master. You made is simpler and easier to understand. Now we can redraw with explanation, thanks to you. May God bless you.
I couldn't leaf this video without posting a comment . It was the best video I have ever seen to understand inguinal hernias thank you very much , Allah will bless you ( both who explain and who upload it here on UA-cam ) . Best regards .
Dr. Akram , I can't thank you enough for your outstanding explanations regarding the anatomy and the clinical notes as well , really amazing work , it's very helpful and gives a better understanding. I will definitely watch your other videos sir. just a small note : at 18 : 18 the contents of the spermatic cord poped on the screen and they had the Ilioinguinal nerve among them , I believe the Ilioninguinal nerve passes through the ingunal canal but not as a content of the spermatic cord, so the inguinal canal in a male will contain the spermatic cord + ilioinguinal nerve.
+mrabukarak Thank you for your interest in the Channel and your comment. I do agree that the ilioinguinal nerve does not span the whole length of the inguinal canal from deep to superficial inguinal rings like other contents of the spermatic cord. However, the ilioinguinal nerve, as it leaves the superficial inguinal ring, will be for a short length within the external spermatic fascia and thus within the outermost covering of the spermatic cord. It is from this point of view that the ilioinguinal nerve is considered as a content of the spermatic cord. Thank you again for your keen observation.
Inguinal Canal simplified in a best possible way...love it! and Thank You very much...the video just cleared all my confusions regarding the topic...thank u again Sir!
Superb!! Inguinal anatomy is one of the most confusing section. Thanks a lot for clearing all the concepts and the most important thing is making you visualize it.
what a simplified and clear depiction...superb !! Pl give graphic details of ileo-pectineal fascia also..we need it for anterior approach to acetabulum in case of fracture fixation
Thanks Dr. Jaffar. The anatomy of the inguinal region is complicated to begin with 2-D illustration. With 3-D illustration technique, if there is, this can be further understood with ease! Though complicated anatomy, It may not be very difficult for the surgeon to repair inguinal hernia!
Thnx aloooooot ,, you helped me out and saved my time ,, it was very difficult and i couldn't imagine what did they say ,,bt now i understand it literally , ,, as you say its simplified
Dear coll. Dr. Jaffar very very nice lesson I listened. I want to say that everybody says Hasselbach as you said 14:46, but the correct term is Hesselbach. Hasselbach is a name of village, German politician, football player, author but Hesselbach is the surname of Franz Kaspar mentioned about the triangle.
very informative clearly explained lecture . thank you sir . the femoral cliff(femoral vein) forms the lateral border of the femoral ring and not the medial border as stated in 17:25 as correctly stated in 26:26
Thank you for the keen observation. I am not sure if I will be able to correct it because UA-cam has removed the ability to add annotations few months ago. However, I will add your not to the video description.
With all due respect for my university teachers , i hope they all can teach like you do.This is not about knowledge, but about the ability to transfer it .Well done !
