Cathy, your channel is so inspiring, you have so many projects in process and are working on each one regularly! I have good intentions and do a fair job of getting things done, but when it comes to getting mounted on my gammill, process slows down! Gotta get more inspired! Just love the new fabrics you got, I would cave too!
Thank you. I get inspired by so many on youtube to get up and do something. Before I was doing youtube, I was in a rut and knew I had to get out of it. I watched a lot of youtube and decided that I could do most anything as long as I really wanted to do it. I have always wanted to make a quilt because my grandmother made quilts occasionally.
Don’t worry about the fail! I don’t even attempt to have a “no buy” month, because I know I would fail miserably.
I lasted 2 days.

Don’t worry about the fail. Do the best you can and enjoy the grand baby! I probably will not make my goal of doing 50 donation quilts this year but I am going to make as many as possible.

Ambitious, you are one amazing lady, you do get so much done, and to think you have a full time job outside the home! And you are able to do grandma time with the grand kids. And on top of all, you are able to do a fantastic youTube very regularly. You deserve a medal!

@@cindywebb580 thank you! I knew when I started quilting that I had to have some accountability - that is where youtube came in to existence and My Hobby Home. I knew if I didn't do the channel that I would have 50 unfinished quilt tops with no hope of ever being done.

You can get good deals on Christmas fabrics in July.

I like the sew sampler quilt so much that I may make the same thing but on a larger scale.
Don't feel bad I have done the same thing.I keep buying fabric to that's on sale.
The bad thing this wasn't on sale - it was just too beautiful and struck my Christmas fancy.
I wish I was that organized with my time. I just have to wait for days off and set a day to film.
I thought I had all the fabric I needed for the cuddle up sew along.. nope!!! Had to place a FQS order and still had to substitute a few prints.
Oh no! I normally record every day of the week when I get off work. I've been trying to get better about that and do several recordings in one day.
I’m going shopping for thread Saturday. I told myself no fabric. I bet I fail too.
LOL yes. I just left Hobby Lobby - big fail but great buys.
I failed on July 2. Visited a new quilt shop, but contained myself to a couple of small scrap bags and a fat quarter. Grand total $10. I'm going to try to be good for the rest of the month. Fingers crossed 🤞.
I tried that too but failed again today.

What are some of the Layer Cake patterns you’ve downloaded? I keep searching, and though it says “layer cake” the patterns I find use a few of the pieces and lots of yardage. I’m going to have to stop collecting precuts! Lol. Thanks, Cathy.

How do you freeze dry
I have a Harvest Right freeze dryer. It takes all the guesswork out, and the final product is amazing.
