I have those Keen boots with the Aluminum toe and absolutely love them. They are by far the most comfortable boots I’ve ever wore. I think that maybe the Canadian version may be a little different. The Vinyl parts you mentioned are Real Leather on mine. I always keep a New pair in a box ready to go and around 6-8 months I change to the new boots. My old pair usually become my casual wear boots after a clean up. By far the Most comfortable OUT OF THE BOX BOOTS I’ve ever wore. I will continue to wear these boots because they have never let me down and my Feet never get sore or over heated.. During the winter months I just wear a thicker warmer work sock and my feet are just as comfortable. Cheers 🇨🇦
Snagged a pair for $29 because the local sportsman’s had them for an extra 75% off clearance pricing!! I’m also a 9.5 and went down to 9 for best sizing!
Just worked my first day in the aluminum toed version, just grouting a shower and moving some material so not too hard on them. Felt really good and I love the wider toe portion. I’ll need to waterproof them and add some toe goo to prevent the leather wearing, but they’re exactly what I was looking for.
Got the darker color and thought they were so amazing i bought a second pair encase the discontinued them. After 6 months of medium use the soles cracked where the ball of your foot is located. Was unexpected. Usually cheap boots will crack on the top. Keen refunded me and I got something else from them. I wish they lasted longer due to them needing no breaking in. Hopefully they will resolve this issue in the future.
These are so light and comfortable, right out of the box. I wore them to the snow on my first wear and walking on ice and snow they gripped quite well while others were slipping around. With a wool sock they were just great warmth-wise in 20-30 degree weather. My only concern was durability as they are so soft and comfortable.
@huntingtonharvey, i get these aren't "barefoot" shoes/boots. But by roomy, do you mean that they allow space laterally or youre just not slamming youre toe into the front of the boot?
I bought those exact ones, lightest boots I have ever owned, felt like a sneaker, the only thing for me at first was the digging in my left ankle bone, and noticed there wasn't enough ankle support after everything had broken in, as a welder in a shop standing on concrete flooring all day they definitely were comfortable.
I just bought the aluminum toe ginger bread color. Got them for 140. Hope they hold up. They come with a 1 year warranty that's a plus. I usually buy boots every year.
I work indoors running a Mann Rolland Web press 60" we work 12 hour shifts, I bought these keens about 3 months ago. Break in was minimal, comfort high and the toe Box lets my wide foot spread out. Also because of the toe box design I don't get holes in my sox at the Big toe like I have with all other steel toe boots. The ankle on them is a little big so I have to sinch the shoe laces tight at the ankle. I like them, but if you work outdoors skip these boots they have little to no traction for outdoor use.
Those look incredible. Thanks for the review! I'm so sad to have female feet. Extra wide and small, so I cant really fit men's boots well and I CANNOT FIND soft toe boots in my size anymore. I used to be such a Redwing Fangirl, too, but they dont make my size anymore. I ordered the Keens Cincinnati 6", but when they came in, I realized that the carbon toe was gonna be narrow for me. Non-safety toe fem boots are unicorns now and I hate it. Y'all I am so depressed rn. Send suggestions.
The most comfortable work boot I've ever worn and I was very happy with them until 8 months after I started wearing them the sole of the left boot split widthwise across the sole. Very comfortable boot but not durable enough to be worn every day for work.
These boots are comfortable but after 17 days of work I have to return them due to one of the tongues coming apart, not too happy considering they are $180, everything is made poorly now aways
my keen soles lasted over 3 years compared to my little over a year red wig soles. red wing has better stitching but those keen soles last a good long while.
My Wolverine boots are awesome comfy out the box and are water proof but boy are they hot. I live so far down Texas it's almost Mexico and when I wear them my feet feel like they are in a oven.
How is the sizing vs the black carhartt mock toe you have? I wear the brown carhartt 6” mock toe and love them, but as you said the sole wears out WAY too fast! Thanks!!
I sent mine back. They were way too big. The soles are not the grippiest. They were comfy but I wouldn't recommend them for outdoor wet muddy slippery surfaces.
They are definitely not made for that environment. The wedge sole is meant for hard flat surfaces. The flat sole spreads your weight across the length and width of the bottom of the sole. Notice how most boots have a gap in the arch of your foot well that just decreases the surface area and makes it harder on your feet on a flat surface but better for an environment like you had them in
Have been really great! The sole is lasting really well almost no wear, which is usually what wears out first on wedge soles. The leather is really soft so I have to lace them really tight, but they feel great after walking around a bit!
Their shit, the sole came after 1 week of use. Just from walking!! they did not get any water or dirt! I decided to buy these boots because I was going to be working inside for a couple of days and wanted to look "presentable" and didn't want to wear my redwings that look beat up. Walmart boot last longer than this piece of crap. Dont recommend
I would contact keen for a replacement. Even with $300 boots this does happen sometimes. I am sorry to hear that. In my experience the sole is the best feature, soft but has a harder rubber on the outsole so that it last longer than a traditional moc toe boot. I wish the leather was thicker then they would be perfect.
Keen's are cheaply made, throw away boots. If you calculate the cost per wear, better boots like Redwings, Nicks, and Whites are much less expensive overall. I've been wearing my tall Redwings for 18 years.
I agree that more expensive boots are a better investment. These boots are actually made very well for the price point compared to other similarly priced boots. Depending on the work you do, it might not be worth it to some people to spend almost $300 at once.
@@whatfreedom7 I can't imagine having a pair for 18 years even just standing in one spot for work, just walking back and forth to your car for 18 years one one pair of boots seems crazy.
