What i like about your posts are ....you look after everything, what i mean is you don't overly push your car, you look after the tracks and enjoy it... And you are just so lay backed kind of guy...
Really appreciate the time you put into these videos Tyler. The video work is outstanding - I imagine it does take some time with the drone shots and setting up for every scene, but it clearly also takes some know-how. You're providing a great service to hoards of us office-bound dudes that can only get away a few times a year. Much appreciated!
I remember that creek exit your dad got stuck on well. Last November when we bought our new Dual Cab, the Pinnacle trail was the first trip we did. It was bone dry and easy to drive but that stretch of dirt out of the creek and up to the rutted hill climb christened our ute with pin stripes. We were annoyed but the wheeling makes you forget about it as it it so very worth it.
Love your vids mate. Just wanted to say with your chainsaw chain. Get youself a tungsten carbide chain. The cost a bit more but you dont have to sharpen it. Take it to the Sthil place every 6 to 12 months and get it sharpened for $40. I have a small MS211 with one on and it cuts wood like butter. Cheers.
Hats off to your dedication to 4wding and camping. How many people can drive around these tracks and camp for so many days in the cold winter? Reward is that you have these places for yourselves!
Good video's mate i am enjoying what i have seen do far. Looks like Native hard wood timber mate and that would explain why your chainsaw is getting blunt fast.
Hi Tyler, look at Powertrax No Slip locker @$450 AU for your dad's car. I ordered mine from Summit Racing and installed it in my H3 and going well. Its an auto locker, don't stop reading yet, with out the ratcheting sound, just the odd click from time to time. Install is easy as it just replaces spider gears, so no need to remove diff or reset diff backlash. happy trails
I have got an ms180 and it has stayed sharp for ages. As long as you keep bar tip out of dirt, it will stay sharp for ages. I use stihl 2 in 1 sharpener... can highly recommend as it knocks down rakers and sharpens perfectly all in one pass.
Hey Tyler, I’m sure we’ve watched this vid before but just wanted to let you know how much we loved it second time around. Love your relationship with your dad. Nice to see Kye also in your latest videos getting into the photography. I rank this as one of your best. Also love Turon area. 💛
Love that area and the track along the turon river. Did that trip a month again and the the river was super high. Was there a big tree along the river or nah. There was a massive tree when we went through
Great vid. Glad you didn't follow the river through to Sofala. Was much more interesting where you went through Sunny Corner and Darks Forest. I've never really explored through there, so it was good to see. Thanks
It's so good seeing the young fella enjoying what his dad enjoys, and giving you some stick too the cheeky little bugger 😂😂😂 Another great video mate, love ya work 👍👍
Great vid, Isuzu should drop a locker in your old mans wagon for free. The places he takes it he'd be getting a few of their sales over the line I reckon.
Another Awesome video. We just bought a nav (an older one) to add some bits to and get out there. All after being inspired by your videos. Keep em coming!.
Them areas is, a gold country you should have a pan. Should get ya boy Kai to saw wood lol. You are definitely very brave swimming in that icy cold water Thanks for the great video another place I need more time to explore
Dunno if you know this or not, one touch on the ground or cutting wood with lots of dirt in it will take the edge off the chain instantly. Top vid as usual mate.
Great video. Love it. I would never be able to leave drawers open like that here in South Africa. We have vervet monkeys on tracks and they love to help themselves to food.
Another great video Tyler. Some friends and I want to come down to NSW, (one day), and do some of that stuff. Looks awesome. I will have to check out where you can get those electronic maps of the area you want to explore.
Chainsaw sharpening. Tyler do yourself a favour and get a stump vice or manufacture a tailgate vice, it will hold your saw firm when sharpening. Also it looks like your angles are wrong, correct me if i am wrong, it looks like you are pushing down instead of in an upward stroke. There is plenty of youtube videos on sharpening. You will get a much longer life from your chain. (join the RFS and do a free chainsaw course haha) Another well presented video, thank you.
Hey Tyler, a quick chainsaw tip if your not already doing it. Sharpen your chain with the file every time you fill up with fuel. A touch up is easier than a sharpen. Oh and try to change your drop start technique. Push away a bit more Good work 👍
I have enjoyed watching this episode so much, beautiful place, very funny kid, and a lot shown of your dads MUX coz I got one too,.😁keep on trecking. Cheers.
Well done as always mate...great driving and great scenery...rather you than me taking that swim !! UUgghh ! Really enjoyed this trip and as always look forward to your next adventure in the Might Nissan !!
Thanks Tyler for all your efforts in producing these very enjoyable videos. Is there an alternate (easier) track to the rocky downhill on Pinnacle? Thanks again, cheers.
Tyler, what mapping set up are you using ? Hema ? I've seen some pretty bad reviews about it. just curious to know what you are using. cheers . PS aaah ...I just checked VMS. How do you find it ? a lot of reviews are not very complementary. They complain about freezing up etc.
Tyler, one question mate. when you got your "Ironman" rock slides, did they have a checkerplate cover on them ? mine have, and I have taken them off with a view to trimming them back a bit.
Another great episode Tyler, you and your Dad do some really extreme 4wd tracks in vehicles that in no way are seriously modified or crazy expensive, just proves if you're smart about it, you don't need to take out a second mortgage to do the hard stuff! Just a bit of a tip regarding your chainsaw, grab yourself a tungsten tipped chain for it, trust me, once you do, you'll never bother with the standard chain that needs constant sharpening again! Keep up the good work mate 👍
My old stomping ground Turon sunny corner and “Cape-e-tee” 😂🤣 it’s not how it’s spelt but that’s how the locals say it 👌🏼 Ky is a scream the Lil fella makes me laugh 😂. Where’s Kaylas cooking
It’s a great track that one....we went to do it a couple of weekends back and took a wrong turn somewhere, ended up lost, but great track indeed. With all the recent wet weather, geez the river was up higher than normal, bloody great trip though. The Bar Trail is a fun little tack even though it's only short....still great fun. A mate did it in his little Daihatsu Feroza, that was a little precarious ! Just one thing mate you’ve got to be careful of - showing collecting firewood in a National Park - you get caught and it’s a big fine. And being there’s signs through there saying collection of firewood is prohibited, NPWS won’t take any excuses. Bloke in Victoria copped a $22,000 fine not long ago. Just be careful mate showing it in your videos. And swimming in the Turon River in winter - have you lost your mind ??? 😆😆😆 that water is friggin’ freezing ! I swear you’re part fish mate !! Well done mate, another great video . 😉👍👍👍
Thats interesting because i read that sign as your not allowed to collect a heap of firewood for home, but for a small campfire within the park is ok. But i am most probably wrong.
Shad Donaghue yeah I always took it that collection was as in taking it home to collect too but National Parks say collecting to burn. I think a lot of people have got out it by saying collection as opposed to rounding up and burning, I think it depends on the particular ranger and what mood they’re in 😆😆👍
Yep they've been good mate, find mud tyres start to get slippery once they are worn down, normally pretty good when they still have plenty of tread on them
hey bud how do you find the VMS? I haven't seen much positive reviews online about them, just people complaining, but I guess that is the nature of online reviews, quick to judge, hesitant to praise. Great trip, would love to do it one day. take it easy 👌
It’s always amazing to see people from 3 generations enjoying something together... good one Tyler. Safe trips.. stay safe...
Thanks mate!
Another awesome video mate, you , your Dad & the little fella keep up the good work & entertainment.
Appreciate it mate!

Thanks mate, glad you're enjoying the videos!
Looks amazing. And bloody cold! Nice one mate. Good stuff
Thanks mate 👍
Bloopers at the end always have me laughing. Turon river track looks really pretty, hopefully can get up there and drive it someday
Glad you enjoy them mate 😂 Awesome area up there!

Loving the content so far. I'm still 2 years behind but I'm bingeing as much as possible. Your boy is too cool for school man. Such a trip lol.
The past few times your videos constantly pop up the same time as Andy's fishing what's great for me as it's either I watch 4wd first or fishing
Gotta go 4wding to get to the best fishing spots... so 4wd first, fish later 😁
Great video. Turon and Sunny Corner is on my must see list now. Thanks.
Cheers!

I've done a lot of that area, but there is always more to do. Thanks Tyler !
Yep plenty out there!
Awesome. Going there this weekend. Though I fear with Sydney opening up it will be busy!
Hats off to your dedication to 4wding and camping. How many people can drive around these tracks and camp for so many days in the cold winter? Reward is that you have these places for yourselves!
Yep it definitely gets cold out there in winter haha still beautiful though!
Great! Cant wait to drive the prado

Some of my favourite areas out that way.

The good thing about Navs, not only do they have rear locker, they also have LSD at the front, these dual cabs are made for this!
Lsd at the front?? Not sure about that buddy
having a blast as usual mate 👍 i seen on my news feed you are getting snow over there is that in your area 👍🏴
Yep we spent two nights camping in the snow on the weekend! Video will be out in the future 👌
Dunno if you know this or not, one touch on the ground or cutting wood with lots of dirt in it will take the edge off the chain instantly.
Top vid as usual mate.
Fat Guts1971...you've got THAT right.
Thanks mate!
Awesome work mate. God bless brother. The bloopers at the end 👌🏽
Thank you!
Great video. Love it.

Thanks mate, plenty of good spots down here to explore!
Awesome content once again. Maybe a release off bloopers only I always get a laugh with them.
Those mud holes would’ve swallowed the #zook, we did like you and took a clean safe line around them 👍
Can confirm zook dose get stuck in them
Tyson 😆😆😉👍
Another great show. Good stuff. Can I ask what type of GPS system you use? Thanks
Thanks mate! It was the VMS 👍

Question those 285/75/16 on st rim rub much as I'm wanting to do same, would you go that size again?
Thanks mate! Yep I'll be getting the same size again, they just touch the chassis on full lock on certain angles but other then that all good
Best way to blunt that chainsaw is to let it hit the dirt or a rock. You were cutting close to the ground a lot
Another good video Ty enjoying them 😎👍🇳🇿
Thanks 👍
Cheers mate, I love your videos. So the VMS seems to do the job. Does it come with maps of Australian tracks or do you need to download?
Thanks mate! Yeah all the maps I have on it were already on it when I bought it, never had to download any

Tyler, one question mate. when you got your "Ironman" rock slides, did they have a checkerplate cover on them ? mine have, and I have taken them off with a view to trimming them back a bit.

is there an exhaust on the muxxy? sounds like a muffler delete?
It has a 3 inch stainless exhaust but still has the muffler on it
Tyler Thompson sounds good not too loud just a good deep note
I have driven and ridden this trip many times and it is always good to see it again but why do you always take the hard way
