ATTENTION UA-cam - I'VE BEEN TRYING TO WORK ON BALANCING OUT THE AUDIO BETTER IN THESE VIDEOS, CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ON HOW IT CAME OUT IN THIS EPISODE - In regards to talk the GoPro footage, music, and talking, whether the audio is consistent and good quality throughout the episode or what needs improving. Thank you ☺️
I turned down the music at the start but back up for the rest. Not an issue though as it's better than most, other channels I have to turn up and down throughout their videos. I'm pretty sensitive to volume though, so probably not a typical viewer.
Also can't tell the difference with the drone footage viewing on my phone (I used to be a pro photographer and have flown a lot of drones). Save your money for now.
Hi Tyler, I think the sound quality is fine. I have a question though, do you have control over where the ads are placed in the video? I must admit I tend to cancel the ads during the video but would be quite happy to let them run at the beginning or end. I realise you generate income from the ads, if you have no control over the number or placement of the ads then I had better let them all run. Cheers keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Audio balance was fine...if your recording all the audio off the GoPro, just shows how good they are ! If your talking to your dad, get closer together, the chat about snorkels his mic level was struggling a bit but not bad considering. DJI haven't released any date for Mavic 3, or even if they are going to. If you have the Air 2 i would stick with that or if you feel you need more quality, go mavic 2 pro. Now your running your channel as a business, don't get sucked into spending your profit on fancy camera/sound gear, if it works now, why change ?
Just watching another brilliant video. Always amazed at how your father’s vehicle performs so well. You show people what can be done without huge budgets and highly modified vehicles, which is what most of us have available. All credit to you both.
The 3 of you boys are a great team. What a privilege to share such adventures with those who are most precious to you. Thanks for yet another great video. Cheers.
Area is known as Wallaby Rocks. Turon clears up nicely after about a week of no rain. Check BOM for water level at Sofala, gets challenging after about 2.2m. There's also a track going up river as well from where you came in- hook a right and go under the old bridge. Get out of there if there is significant rain in the Sunny corner/Portland/capertee area as the river will rise very quickly about a day later.
NEVER ceases to amaze me just how capable the MUX is, I know other channels have used them in the past with great success. I agree with you guys, snorkel BEFORE lockers every time.
gday tyler, here is a tip from a fellow 4wder... cary a few packets of foam ear plugs in the glovebox. in the bottom of your doors, there are rain drains that allow water that makes it down the glass to drain back out the bottom. problem with that is when you do deep water crossings or bog holes, water and mud will go in the drains and fill the door until it comes through the access ports behind the door card. no matter how good your seals are, this will be how you flood the carpet if you get stuck. so squash up the ear plugs and put them in the drains before you go out and remove them again at the end of the trip. if they don't stop the water completely, they will slow it down an incredible amount and buy you a heap of time to recover with dry interior. hope you can make use of this and it helps in future.
Nice one mate, good change from doing rocks and mud. I would add one other item you should carry which allows deep river crossings and that's a bonnet tarp. We've used them for ages now before snorkels became so readily avail and they're cheap. The main benefit is they stop the fan blades being dragged into the radiator. Audio was good!
Great work mate 👍 More benefits from a snorkel than just creek crossings, better/cooler air intake etc. The winch on the front makes up for no locker!!!
audio sounds constant your the only tuber that has bothered to acknowledge sound levels im 57 and a bit deaf thanks my brother by the way good vid all bullshit aside river crossings are not for everyone especially one's like this enjoy your new freedom journey love your vid's griffo from Queensland
Awesome!!! Fantastic. I think the good ole ‘bow sheet’ is sometimes forgotten these days, can help to keep engine bay components that would still get wet nice and dry. I’m stuck away for another 6 weeks but can’t wait to get home, your vids definitely have me looking forward to hitting the tracks with my old man and family. I’ve gotta get some offroad tyres, hmmmm and maybe a snorkel. My vehicle is a bog stocky atm. Great vid, well done and definitely agree that those water crossings would be a once in a lifetime for many.......your reward for getting out and about. Cheers
Another great video, I used to live near there but never had the privilege of doing tracks like that so was really good to see. The word you we’re looking for when fossicking for gold is gold panning 😀
Great video mate. Love your content and also how you incorporate the family too. Agree with your comment re the snorkel too. It was the second thing I did after tyres. Not having lockers won't destroy your car, and the lsd, traction control can negotiate you through a lot of obstacles with some common sense. In contrast not having a snorkel would have ended your trip.
Great video Tyler, audio was really good nice and clear. Many moons ago you used to place a tarp over the bullbar for water crossings, never see that anymore. Give it go one day.
Great video mate! Been waiting for this one. Not only because I’m in it 😄 but because I’ll be moving to this region soon and would love to hit all these tracks. Cheers -Ryan
Love the bloopers. Keeps it real haha. I’m with you guys regarding the snorkel. I did the cape without lockers but definitely needed the snorkel. God there are some knob heads. Keep up the good work.
Another top episode Tyler👍 far more enjoyable than some of the bigger YT channels. I kinda like that your Dad’s MUX doesn’t have lockers. For most of us it’s showing where our vehicles can go with sensible driving. Ps. That canopy of yours looks the goods - so much more practical than just a tub Cheers...
Just subscribed👍great to watch you're easy laid back way, really enjoy seeing Kye with you and his cooking funnies😂🍳🤣 love the out takes at the end too. You've inspired hubby and I ✌️
Did a trip through there when I first joined a 4wd club many, many years ago, didn't have a snorkel but the water was much lower, barely hub height. It was a very memorable trip, I haven't actually done it since. As for the audio, it was good. I could hear you easily, and wasn't blasted by music as happens so often with youtube videos.
Interesting views on a snorkel - I don’t buy the cleaner /cooler air theory, but can understand water ingress (only if it’s a sealed unit). That said, if you’re going to do deep water crossings, breather kits for your diffs and gearbox are a must, as well as a snorkel!
Great episode, lads. The whole tablelands areas of NSW are looking so green from all the rain, especially compared to a year ago. We adjusted our adventure down from Coffs to the south east forests near Bombala at the same time as your trip when the Vic borders restrictions kicked in and wrecked our plan for the high country.
Another great vid mate, audio is good. My parents live in Lithgow and I’ve driven around there before but never found these tracks, will have to get back there in the future
Hello I just want to say how much I enjoy your videos they are are very entertaining I also have a Isuzu mux so always great to see how you dad goes keep up the great work

Hi Tyler, My son Marco (4.5) and I are big fans of your videos. We are based in HK. Marco has a few questions --1) Will you ever be testing the Ford Bronco? 2) Have you seen the AMG 6x6 from Dubai? How would it do on your trails? 3) Have you seen a Ford Monster Raptor? How do your reckon it will do on the trails?
Glad you're enjoying the videos! I haven't seen either of those 4wds sorry! haha Ill have to check them out. Would be keen to test the Bronco out at some stage!
My first mod in the D22 was a snorkel, yoh never know when your gona come across something that exceeds you sur box, gary does well to get where he does, i still dont have lockers, great vid as always mate
Awesome trip. Thank you for sharing. What an amazing country and lifestyle for you and your Kai. Oh and I would prefer a snorkel to lockers because I would prefer to be stuck than have my motor take in water
Snorkel definitely before a locker👍👍 I have never had a vehicle with a locker, however all with snorkels. Been up some hairy tracks in Vic High Country and Cape York... snorkel + LT tyres + suspension should be first mods to a 4x4
I'll weigh into the locker v snorkel debate, it totally comes down to the type of wheeling you do and fuel type you run. I've have petrol 4wds that were just for play and a snorkel would have been a waste of money. I've have diesel 4wds more for touring and a snorkel was a must. For you guys i agree that a snorkel should be a priority.
So when are you heading to the NT for a trip? Its a bit tough walking the water up here, unless you want to take your chance with the snapping handbags..🐊
Hi brother what a beautiful track out near Sofala I pin pointed the location but no tracks marked on the hema maps but can see some on the Satellite images . Does that track just follow the river down a few kilometres and just comes back onto the same main roads ?? Thank you .
Ive explained this many times before, terrible for views. Used to do that, as soon as I stopped making boring descriptive titles I started getting 2-3 times the views
Although Toyota have a great name and are over priced , you can upgrade three times with a patrol and they are of equivalent offroad capability for the cost of 1 cruiser. Will be interesting to see what you get .👍
Have you ever put a gopro inside the engine bay to see what happens during a deep water crossing ? When your Dad was talking about signs of water over the battery and air box , I was wondering what was happening with the fan ?

Tyler mate you didn't cross the river, you drove down it like a bloody highway!!!! Cracking vid mate
