  • Was having a bad night failing at 365, 355, 350 and then 345. Decided to go to the base of 295 and work towards another attempt later on another night. Have not given up on 365 but shoulders are not there yet to lower it slow enough to get a good push at the bottom. I have done 350 and even 360 in the past year but being a senior lifter in your 60s is a whole new game with regard to how you feel from one workout to the next.

    this it's very inspiring. I am 48 but in my 20s and 30s I would work out with 215 for 10-15 reps and go up to 315 for reps. I then got some shoulder injuries and started only doing dumbbell presses thinking I was too old to ever lift over 300 again. But this inspires me to go back to bench, maybe I'm not too old like I thought.
