The Indian Air Force (IAF; Devanāgarī: भारतीय वायु सेना, Bharatiya Vāyu Senā) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct Aerial warfare during a conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II. After India achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1947, the Royal Indian Air Force served the Dominion of India, with the prefix being dropped when India became a republic in 1950. Since independence, the IAF has been involved in four wars with neighbouring Pakistan and one with the People's Republic of China. Other major operations undertaken by the IAF include Operation Vijay - the annexation of Goa, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus and Operation Poomalai. Apart from conflicts, the IAF has been an active participant in United Nations peacekeeping missions.
The President of India Pranab Mukherjee serves as the ex-officio Commander-in-Chief of the IAF. The Chief of Air Staff, an Air Chief Marshal (ACM), is a four-star commander and commands the Air Force. There is never more than one serving ACM at any given time in the IAF. The rank of Marshal of the Air Force has been conferred once, to Arjan Singh, by the President of India on 26 Jan 2002 and he became first five-star rank holding officer of IAF & serves as the ceremonial chief.

Man, you guys give goosebumps for no reason and reject 90% of the lot attending interviews. The Indian defence is at it's peer pressure with shortage of officers and recruitment board is rejecting candidates and not giving a valid reason for rejection. Indian youth need no motivation when they are called for national service. This country is a clan of Shatriya in blood. We are all born to fight, make use of us the way we are.

Myself also unable to qualify for airforce. While it was my dream. But this is necessary to maintain the quality of air warriors. I wasn't able to serve my nation as a warrior. But I'm serving it as a good citizen.

How come everyone says, my city, my state, my nation (with pride), but no one ever says my world, our world. One World.

Genuine thought and the thought of a world without borders is 'too good to be real'. I'll try and state 3 reasons that make it impossible (at least in near future).
1. Materialism
All animals on this planet except humans live for the day. Animals find food and reproduce without planning for it for a long time. The reason being they do not have a strong memory to remember plans. But humans always worry about their future. You will always prefer to earn money today, so that you can feed yourself and keep yourself comfortable for tomorrow. This is a logical thought and it applies to countries like it does to humans. Countries have certain goals (say national interest). They will never give it up for a united world. If one is to seek inspiration from our sadhus, they'll see sadhus give everything up. They feed others before themselves. This level of compassion comes from self realization. If everyone on the planet becomes as compassionate as this, we can have a world with no borders where everyone will help everyone else and there will be no suffering.
2. Empathy
We say human minds are limitless but there is a limit to our perception and the love that we give. For example, if you find out that a person in an area next to yours got a dog-bite, you will have a momentary reaction about the fact and then you will continue with your day. If you find out that person was your friend, you'll be worried and you'll visit them immediately. Alternatively, if you found out that person was your brother/sister, you'd be more worried, even more worried if that was your father/mother and horrified if you found out it was your child. This differences arise because we have evolved in a society where we have different amount of responsibilities for different people. Our empathy lies with the people we know. To become a global civilization our empathy needs to expand around the globe, towards each and every being. If terrorists kill 10 Syrians or 10 Africans, you'll be sad, if they kill 10 Europeans, you'll be outraged. This will need to stop.
3. Belief, Ideology and Mental State
If you have a global government, will it be a democracy? Or a republic? Or an autocracy? Or a dictatorship? Will it be secular?
People grow up in religions and ideologies that have political implications. People are irrational when it comes to their belief. Many countries were made on the basis of their religion. Now a person from another religion might not feel safe in such a country. A follower of communism will feel cheated in a capitalist state. A democratic person will certainly not opt to live in a dictatorship. All of these fears translate to hatred. And hatred translates to violence.
If you plan to have a global government, It cannot be a combination of all of these different types of governance. Because all of these ideologies are against each other. Now if you pick one, lets say democracy, then masses of other thoughts will go against you and destabilize your government. Which creates more problems than it solves.
I'll end with why I think nation-state format is better for humanity. I'll give an example.
You feel safe and comfortable in your house. You can make changes to your house to suit your needs. If your sarpanch or mayor starts interfering in your house like where you should you keep your sofa and what family member will sleep where, that will take your comfort away. If he tells you to keep your doors open while you sleep at night, that will take your safety away. Right?
This is why a global civilization is just a beautiful fantasy.
World peace, health and prosperity are real necessities. These can be achieved without installing a global government too. You can help your neighbor while you keep the integrity of your house. To live peacefully, you just have to have good relations with your neighbors and good locks at your door. :)
