Rik is a good friend of mine, the man has never lied to me about anything...when I first heard of all the crap that went on with blackie and W.A.S.P. in the early days and how much Mr lawless had rewritten history, I lost so much respect for the band. Rik is a stand up kinda guy who has never really gotten his fair share of the pie in the industry...but then there are whole bands out there that have been the catalyst of great things but never went anywhere huge...Steeler and London immediately spring to mind.

Jason, thanks for your comment. I became friends with Rik back in 1980. He joined a cover band that came to Rumors, a Rock club in Middletown, in Upstate NY. I swear I saw him maybe 2 more times in that band, and then he was in a band called Agressor...and all of a sudden, I was married in 82, and Rik flew out to Cali...I didn't know that, and I actually found him on FB about 3 years ago now, and I check in with him and his wife fairly often to see how they're doing, and what he's got going musically.

@@chethammer well, honesty and talent are two separate things. When you have Tony and Randy, two former members saying the exact same thing as Rik, and Chris is writing songs like "two faced mother f*cker" which is about his dealings with Mr lawless...add to that blackie not ever saying anything about it to fully disprove any claims, it tends to be a bit fishy. I am one who can honestly say I have met Tony, Chris, Randy, and a few others who have been in the band, Randy and Chris are also good friends as well....I can honestly say, I get some weird vibes off of blackie, especially if you ask him about Rik face to face, he dodges the question, and looks really nervous while doing it. Chris & Randy are right up front with their reasons or circumstances about their departures....blackie, not so much on any of them. He may be talented but he is very shady when it comes to things like band members. 3 against one, you know who is lying big time.

WOW I remember seeing Rik Fox play w/ his band SIN. Wow... that was at Perkins Palace in Pasadena in March 1984 I believe it was on the 16th? I still have the ticket somewhere in the attic. The headliner was Armored Saint, Malice with Odin. Such an AMAZING show... wow.. Perkins was beyond packed. John Bush rode out on stage on a white horse! It was crazy. I remember Rik being really nice (always had a lot of respect for him) as I met him as my friend knew him and the promoter Gina Zamparelli. That was the best club! Had to listen to this one thrice. At first, I thought Rik sounded kindof full of himself. So I checked his shit, he's more legit than legit. The second time, I realized that people used to genuinely treat bass players like shit, especially responsible ones who weren't raping passed out groupies. The third time, after listening to recordings of Rik playing live, I realized that he's much in the same boat as bands like Testament, where he gets a superficial pass; in spite of his ability to turn a room inside out. Learning about Rik has been a fucking treat, and I hope he continues to get exposure- dude thumps the bass without a bunch of thrills, and never drops the ball on harmony vocals- he's an honor to Lemmy's memory.

You should do a metal mythos about Iced Earth. You have mentioned the band a few times.

I have to do my research. The only other aftershock episode I remember is graham bonnet. Love interviews with lesser known dudes who were there at ground level when all the shit went down but never got mainstream press.

Razor, you ought to do a 20-30 min News Roundup sort of thing once a week. I know the market for that stuff is pretty saturated, but it's the sort of thing that would be easy to slot into the lineup and you've clearly got the chops to do it right.

He left ss because HE threw the pick at his band mate at hit him and they threw it back and accidentally hit him in the eye? Uh…
Rik seems a bit full of himself. I felt it throughout the whole interview (still a great interview by the interviewer). But even if it’s warranted, I’m not saying rik is lying, it’s the attitude he delivers the stories with that puts me off. If everyone you’ve been in any band with ends up disliking you or cutting you out of their life…maybe you’re the problem, rik. Idk.

Hot on your heels its a pretty cool Priestish tune
      The drummer was good .
Riot asked him just before Thundersteel.
But yeah for Yngwie i get it completly

Blackie, Randy, Joey, Ronnie Babajko & Myself, all went out one night to the Rainbow, but on the way there we stopped at a liquor store on Melrose, and Joey grabbed a couple bottles of wine and stuffed them down the sleeves of his leather jacket .. later that night, we nearly had a food fight in Denny's on Sunset near the Hollywood Fwy .. I was there from earliest days of Sister, Circus Circus, London, Baby Jane & what finally became WASP .. I had what I felt was a mutually respectful friendship with Blackie and I was relieved to find out(months after the fact,) that the one night that my girlfriend( at the time,) was too tired/buzzed to drive home, had stayed overnight with him .. Blackie called me the next day and told me that she had stayrd iver but that was all it was .. said that I knew that he wasn't attractedto the kind of girl I was seeing at the time .. she said that nothing happened, just slept over and that was the extent if it .. honestly, most of my experiences in the 80's Sunset Strip days were good Ones .. Memories 🤘
