I love this episode because it reminds me of when Pastor Stromberg asked from the pulpit, "How well would it go in your house if we were to pick up and move without a plan, other than God told me to! What would your wife say?" Referring to Abraham and Sarah. Here we see it in his life with the decision to move and go to seminary with no other plan than trusting God. Thank you both for preaching and telling the truth.
Found things I could relate to here from the other side, sort of. I was raised in the United Presbyterian Church without ever knowing anything about reformed theology or the great debate. Upon hearing the gospel in the midst of the Jesus Movement I made a decision for Christ: repentance and faith. When I asked my UPC youth pastor about this and was faced with a blank face, and then when my UPC senior pastor downplayed this as anti-intellectual without any explanation of non-decisionist theology, I moved into the evangelical camp. Now many years later I find myself on a middle ground that I imagine most think weak. Certainly God knows if I should turn left or right.

I think you can be honest about sharing your experiences and others can benefit from that. This conversation really wasn’t about trying to tear down Pentecostals. A lot of it was actually very complimentary towards their boldness in preaching against sin, the need of repentance, and then building people up in the gospel of Christ Jesus. This is unfortunately really lacking in so many churches today, and this is something that needs to be addressed. This conversation was actually quite balanced as it also pointed out what so many reformed people and churches struggle with.
If people aren’t sincerely desiring and walking after holiness they should be discouraged, because they aren’t saved. True preaching balances these things.

Pentecostals are very cultish (not all but most). Let's not forget that it is a restorationnist movement. Still Pentecostals are my brothers and sisters in the faith based on the Gospel NOT on the other stuff they believe.
