Looking forward to it, but this is the second time I've seen a video where you say to find the next video on the screen and in fact it won't be out for a week. Just some feedback: seems confusing. I'm looking forward to seeing the next video!

@@chrispittman9963 I totally hear you. Experimenting with something where we try to create a loop of videos for future viewers to binge through. I can see why that would be frustrating/confusing to subscribers. Will think on that some more. Thanks for the feedback!

This is so true. We have to be where the people are to reach them. Even as a missionary we are seeing more people on their phones and social media. Just starting but trying use UA-cam to share with our supporters and one day the people we are reaching. I have already had gospel conversations started because people in our city have watched one of my videos.

ALL of the geographical spaces cited in Acts 1:8 are covered when we use Social Media to accomplish Matthew 28:18-20. A tool that can be used to advance the gospel. We thank God for the opportunities we have now.

As someone who continues to watch UA-cam by catching up on their subscription feed every day, I now understand that is a byproduct of growing up in the Social Graph era.

I believe the point of their argument is that we’ve substituted the very essence of the Holy Spirit, which was the power of the early church, for lights, cameras and social media. It’s good to take advantage of technology and leverage it, it’s wise to also ensure we don’t focus more on socials and other things more than the true message and the power of the Spirit. I’m order to fit with social media, people now ‘change’ the very essence of our faith for wise words of men’s wisdom in order to fit into the social media age. Good content though! I just hope we can stay true to our essence as we take advantage of all these new technologies. More grace to us in Jesus name

Very well put. I wrestle with this from time to time myself. I feel the temptation to try and sound smart, culturally sophisticated, or whatever, but Paul made a point of risking to sound like a complete idiot for the sake of staying true to the Gospel and putting Christ crucified front and center of his message. So social media isn’t the problem. But we may fall into the trap of relying on our own abilities rather than the Holy Spirit to move people’s hearts.

@@rickbiessman6084 Paul said he intentionally didn’t use wise words of men’s wisdom (oratory powers that was thriving Greece then) so that people’s faith is in the cross and it’s ‘foolishness’ rather than in those wise words that will make the cross of none effect. In order to reach the unsaved, we have to go to where they are, and they are on social media now. And I agree with that. So just like you said, we should just be watchful not to fall into the trap of focusing on reaching people at the detriment of the truth. The temptation is so strong these days and we should keep laboring to ensure we stay true while also reaching people wherever they are. Or else, the system of this world will trap us, all in a bit to ‘reach more people’, and make our message of none effect

@@thesower6577I do wonder though if "using wise words" could kind of equate to using fancy edits and the like... because in the end, both are ways of trying to enhance our communication with human devices, aren’t they? I don’t have clear answer, just wondering.

Man, this got me thinking. Thanks for challenging my perspective! I do some media work for my church (photography and video stuff), but being the millenial that I am I don’t even have a TikTok account and I can’t stand the aggressive "in your face" style of extremely short clips. (I also don’t like vertical orientation video. :D) And while my church has a pretty good influx of new visitors compared to the constant size of our congregation. A lot of people stay with us for only a few visits or less than a year, so there’s definitely some work to do about that. Apparently we’re failing to grow people as disciples. But that shouldn’t keep us from questioning how we use our social media. And even though I may not feel at home in the world of TikTok and Instagram reels at all, I have the skills to create content for those platforms. And I don’t have to feel at home in that world in order to be a digital missionary...

I literally found the church that I’ve been at for 5 years through social media. My church is amazing and I’m so glad I found it. There’s nothing wrong with a church having social media just as long as the leaders of the church arent too focused on building a church because it should be about building people. You can have a huge digital platform and bring in tons of people but if no one is leaving changed or motivated to grow up in Christ then it’s meaningless.
