Over time I have learned that mindset is probably the most important thing when learning new techniques. I have done this fast skip for ages and (like other moves) it becomes easier and you "trip" less when you don't even think about jumping the rope. You really do need to get into that "flow" state that Brandon is talking about. When you get there, you'll know it. Everything becomes easier. Namaste!
Been boxing for about a year and I didn't know how to jump rope til last month. The next month, I learned how to criss-cross. Then, the next week(now), learned how to skip rope. Thank you, Jump Rope Dudes.
Smoked a bowl and hat the most insane session today. I flew with the ropes, at one stage I felt the gravity of the ropes intensely, closed my eyes and imagined I had light sabers in my hands. I'm in love with jumping especially with some stanky beats.
had the same isue with boxer skip, until I jumped one day so long that i started shifting my weight from one side to the other (as my legs started to hurt and i became exhausted)every 2nd jump. boom, here you go, and you are able to do the boxer skip, as the rest is just a bit movement of the feet.... hope this works for you as well:) just make sure your upper body supports the shifting (bending just a bit left/right), until you can do it well, then you can keep you upper body in place again and let the feet do the work/boxer skip:) happy jumping!
I was like that until I watched the super slomo boxer skip by these dudes. Really helpful. Found with boxer skip it's more of shifting weight at a quicker rate.
I want to thank the "dudes" for all the vid's. I just started jumping/skipping 2 weeks ago at close to 70 I did not think I could do it. I started I and couldn't do two jumps in a row, now I can do 30 sec so I turned it into a HIIT workout, doing a 30 sec jump than 30 pushups for 10 sets. I noticed that when I go for long walks I seem to have a lot more "pep in in my step" My goal is to get to 15-20 minutes and start doing more interesting movements- thanks again for the insperation
Hey Dudes, thank you for inspiring me to pick up the jump rope. I'm just beginning my jump rope journey. Also, did anyone else notice that this looks kinda like 'The Running Man'?
this was so so helpful. I just could get the move before. It just didnt compute to go forward then back lol but i can do it a little already. Watching the rest of the video i can see how hard it is, so many times y'all go back then forward back then forward
I finally got it down yesterday! I Just kept skipping and tripping on the rope yesterday till I got it! It’s like riding a bike once you get it you’ll never forget it.
Great tutorial. I love to go fast. Ironically it helped with my shin splits and recovering after heavy rope days. Since I'm quickly shifting my weight from leg to leg, there's not enough time for the discomfort to "register" per se. No worries, still land nice and softly.
bro i just started jumping and i can do it easily idk how i just used to do the same but without the rope so when i got a rope i can do it !!! thx for the awsome information Keep it up !!!
Man ive been working on this move for the longest and I finally got it!! If only you could've seen how hype I was after I did it lol I finally did the thing
Every day so far this week. Been posting videos about it on my Insta and my new youtube channel! Want to thank you guys for the inspiration for all of this
Couch2 Competitor - nice! No. Not really a speed rope. It's too heavy (1/4 pound) to be considered a speed rope by most... It's a new rope from the crossrope infinity system.
This was the first trick I ever tried to learn I couldn't do it a year ago but recently when I tried to learn the run in place I started to do the fast skip leg swing while running in place 😂
All I want from UA-cam is a video on how to get the rope to move that fast 🙃 I can just not ever getting going slow and no one has ever explained the changes I need to make or the kinds of ropes that work best.
Wow 4 dislikes the least dislikes i have seen my whole life ... and i wonder all those haters are already fast full of ego .... you doing a great job kee it up guys you inspire me to jump rope everyday ❤️🔥
I am 42, started jump rope 6 weeks ago 30-60 minutes 6 times a week and then needed to rest due to major pain in my toes and Achilles heel. I now do more warm up and stretching but do you guys have any recommendation for the ideal shoe and maybe how to tape the foot?
Hi guys, I bought a skipping rope about 2 weeks ago and I’ve been skipping pretty much everyday for around 45 mins, around a week ago I started developing some pains in my shins and ankles, i chose to ignore it but it’s too bad now for me to go for over 10 minutes, Is there anything I can do to stop the pain? I can skip fairly well so I don’t think it’s my form however I am just a novice so what do I know haha
Hey Alex, you're probably just jumping too much. When first starting off, you should probably try to limit yourself to jumping 3-4 days a week for 20-25 mins. You have to slowly work up to longer and more frequent sessions. Your body just needs to get used to what you're doing. If it gets painful, listen to your body and take a break. Don't push through pain.
Alex McLachlan - the community has provided some solid advice. While it IS low impact, it is a serious workout and challenges parts of your body that you may not normally. Get on softer surface if possible and watch these videos: ua-cam.com/channels/mYew1VwdbpHnSFG-CQ1A-A.htmlsearch?query=injury
Going to try this for the first time this morning. But I believe if I understand correctly I learned this same move in country line dancing. So hoping it wont take long.
Yunior Gamboa - yes! (and no). We like basket balls shoes, nikes and old hyperdunks, pg's and kd's to be specific, but your feet our different then ours. We have friends that can't wear nikes… so it's all about getting shoes that YOU are comfy in. ua-cam.com/video/CoPHf1YI2GQ/v-deo.html
Guys, little question,i love bodyweight training but also love jumping rope, but I been having some troubles with my overall strength when i jump rope ,should I mix them or what should I do?
Y O V L U - not sure what you mean, it doesn't take a ton of strength to jump rope. Follow the four week challenge. It's built 100% around jump rope and body weight movement.
Idk why but this is the hardest move to master. :( I can do the double taps but I am really not sure how to do the swing. Is there a simpler technique or a different approach?
Ruhin Kagdi - you can, but if you aren't spending a lot of time barefoot, you really need to ease into it. Many of us have spent much of our lives in shoes, so running, jumping rope or even walking long distances barefoot would be very painful. If you choose to try it, watch you toes, find a soft surface and start with VERY low volume to avoid injury.
Over time I have learned that mindset is probably the most important thing when learning new techniques. I have done this fast skip for ages and (like other moves) it becomes easier and you "trip" less when you don't even think about jumping the rope. @@Codemanlex Cool!
The slo-mo in HD is awesome! You can literally see the detail in the technique...thanks!
It took me 3 weeks to properly execute this trick. Never give up and do the thing guys.
Been boxing for about a year and I didn't know how to jump rope til last month. The next month, I learned how to criss-cross. Then, the next week(now), learned how to skip rope.
Thank you, Jump Rope Dudes.
N8 Productions - NICE!
Smoked a bowl and hat the most insane session today. I flew with the ropes, at one stage I felt the gravity of the ropes intensely, closed my eyes and imagined I had light sabers in my hands. I'm in love with jumping especially with some stanky beats.
Strangely enough this move is simple but the Boxer Skip is still something I can't get down.
had the same isue with boxer skip, until I jumped one day so long that i started shifting my weight from one side to the other (as my legs started to hurt and i became exhausted)every 2nd jump. boom, here you go, and you are able to do the boxer skip, as the rest is just a bit movement of the feet.... hope this works for you as well:)

Mr.
Plinkett - just keep trying. One day it'll fall into place!
Me too I Never get it right
I was like that until I watched the super slomo boxer skip by these dudes. Really helpful. Found with boxer skip it's more of shifting weight at a quicker rate.
Omg same:(
Fast skip, boxer skip, and run in place were all way easier to learn for me than reg bounce haha, I actually very rarely reg bounce
Jordan Henderson - we have a few members that are this way, and for some reg bounce hurts the feet. DO YOU!
same here.. i learned almost all adv tricks but i still trip over reg bounce..
I want to thank the "dudes" for all the vid's. I just started jumping/skipping 2 weeks ago at close to 70 I did not think I could do it. Great to hear!
I watched this video last spring and kept trying this move. I would it half time and just role with it! I finally just did it and am so happy!

John - Yeup! We've had lots of members do the same thing... regular bounce was killing them so they got very good at freestyle.
BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR A LONG TIME! All I have seen was shorts! This was easier to understand! Thanks for this!
Let's gooo!
This tutorial is really good. It only took me around 10 minutes to learn this trick after watching the video

Ayyy Dan’s lookin fresh with that clean shave
So doing this is basically dancing to drum and bass (dnb step)
I always wonder what you're looking at when you jump rope. Whatever it is, you always look really happy.
Fast skip is a rather good move for freestyle when u combine it with criss cross🔥🔥🔥

My favourite trick
Does the swing after the double tap really matter? Is it just to keep the rhythm or it helps maintain balance?
Add in side swings if you'd like, not necessary!
I think i have mastered it but do i need to tap my front feet on the ground?I mean tap the Heel?Sorry for my english and thanks!!!
thanks once again zen
Really like your videos!
gaurav chopra - appreciate you!

i had the exact same issue. Your body is slowly becoming adjusted to a new movement. JUst give it time imo
Hey Alex, you're probably just jumping too much. When first starting off, you should probably try to limit yourself to jumping 3-4 days a week for 20-25 mins. Just skip skipping for some days until soreness subsides.
Going to try this for the first time this morning. But I believe if I understand correctly I learned this same move in country line dancing. So hoping it wont take long.
Andrew Parker - the jump rope element makes it a little different but let us know how it goes!
Jump Rope Dudes your not kidding I can do the move just fine till I involve the jump rope. Then my legs just go crazy. Will have to keep trying.
What rope do you use I need a new rope for boxing training mine got destroyed
How to coordinate feet and hands?
Nice!
Amazing
Do the thing
After half an hour..I was jumping like a ninja
Do you guys recommend any type of shoes for rope jumping every day?
Yunior Gamboa - yes! (and no). We like basket balls shoes, nikes and old hyperdunks, pg's and kd's to be specific, but your feet our different then ours. We have friends that can't wear nikes… so it's all about getting shoes that YOU are comfy in.

what are those air max 90's called? the colourway is fire
Ben Harkin - awe man... if you can find these it's gonna be on ebay or some collectors closet. these shoes were awesome but they are old!
Jump Rope Dudes I'll have to get searching, think they're the nicest 90's i've ever seen. cheers for the quick reply
Do you guys have unlimited cables? The cement must destroy cables lol
Lazar Markovic - we probably go through more ropes than your average skipper, but crossropes are super durable.
I agree, they don't lie when they say these are the best jump ropes, and extremely durable.
im only watching this because my mom said she would buy me some shorts if i did 500 jump ropes lol
I think you're the only one🤣🤣🤣 but did you get them shorts
What kind of shoes should I wear? Just any ?
Laeticia H. Mbatcha - running shoes? Trainers? whatever you are MOST comfy in.
Great trick !!
Is it just like sprint in place ??
#DO THE THING
YASH AGARWAL - they are similar.. watch the videos.

Superb😃😃😃👍👌👌👌
Guys, how many days a week do u jump and for how many hours?
what are good shoes
for jumpin
Indoor shoes, or running shoes!
Nike airmax
Shane BOO - we're loving the nike hyper dunks at the moment, but really, it's whatever you are comfy in!
I call them fast singles, the best for transitioning for their first double under.
Im an actor and got picked to jump rope very fast during a song in an upcoming show and i need freaking help lol
I just noticed that your heels are touching the ground.
Dean Winchester - yup.
i tried it
Idk why but this is the hardest move to master. :( I can do the double taps but I am really not sure how to do the swing. Is there a simpler technique or a different approach?
Practice bouncing 2x on one leg - then add in the swing!
@@JumpRopeDudes Now, I've mastered it. : )
Hey can we jump without any shoes?????
