- On today's show were doing some landing practice runs with the F4U-4 Corsair 1.2m BNF Basic with AS3X and SAFE Select .
Each pass helped and I got a few really nice ones . This was kinda general warbird landing runs . Trying to keep the plane up on the mains while feathering throttle and rudder .
Sorry the video cuts off abruptly at the end . The SD card was full . LOL
Thanks for watching and Commenting
Good, solid landing practise, Philip! And agreed, jollyroger always gives great advice...
Thanks Gina , We're lucky to have such great friends and viewers .
@@PhilipCockram Absolutely agree, Philip!
Philip that corsair and your flying great and you made good saves too 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Thanks Frank . Yeah the saves taught me a thing or two as well . 😀👍🏼
@@PhilipCockram I still miss mine but mise was so touchy on landing but practice makes perfect
Philip, Very cool seeing the Corsair fly today. 👍3 Have a Fun Week! 🔊 🎶 ✌😀
Thanks Chas . Have a great weekend also . 🕺🏻💃🎸
Philip great landing practice with the Corsair, it's just like learning to play the guitar. Jeff in LA USA
Thanks Jeff . Yeah I'm sure this will help with other planes too .
Good stuff Philip ! I noticed a few landing / roll outs that were sort of 'skittering' along on your gravel road with enough speed to have some rudder authority - and you kept your Corsair straight & well in the middle of the road. Even the approaches that you chose to abort were easy to handle doing a go around because of your retained speed. I am sure there are a lot of different styles that some RCers may prefer. But I feel that a scale war bird doing a scale landing will take a bit of time / room to roll out on landing. Your situation is a bit unique in that you have that nice long, smooth road to land on. A lot of modelers will have a much shorter runway - and must try to get it down and stopped much quicker. OK.
FYI - One of my tricks is to plan a touch n go that is coming in smooth and with some speed. And if I get the tires touching down gently and the plane is rolling out well . . . I just keep it straight with power back down - let it roll out to nearly a full stop . . . and decide that I wanted it to be a landing all along. Ha.
Looked like a very good practice session to me.
Thanks again for the tips and advice . I ran another pack through after this one doing pretty much the same . These were a bit bigger batts than I normally use also, but the CG is good and I like the bit of extra weight m handling and flight time .
I might try some different sections of the road next time , because some spots have a little wider center area .
Next is to start inducing some flaps and rates tuning . But that's a bit more plane specific . on this plane they make quite a difference but less so on some others .
Yeah it's nice when we can pick and choose our 'Proper' landings . I do that too . LOL
Nice flying. You picked a good landing spot. In the intro, you landed a good pickin spot!
Thanks for watching . I'm going to keep trying different spots . Everytime they grade the road its a little different . This last time was not there best work . LOL 😆
A nice smooth tarmac with a white runway line would be cool!
It took me a few minutes to realize that the little sticks in the subscribe link are guitars... nice touch! I do envy your ability to fly these various aircraft... I am still not skilled enough with my drone! Another LIKE for your video brother!
Thanks Ray . Almost forgot about that automatic watermark myself its so small .
I still try to squeeze in some sim time here and there but there no replication from just hands on training .
phillip.. this is so cool!! Looks like you had a beautiful day and the perfect spot to fly your plane.. such an amazing hobby.. what a beautiful plane.. great video.. so nice to spend some time at your channel.. All my best to you my friend
Very cool my friend
Thanks John .
Amazing weather to fly .. and practicing is great .. The plane is shape looks like used in WAR 2
Thank you Miss , Yes this is scale replica of a WWII fighter , made even more infamous with the 1970s TV show Black Sheep Squadron or Baa Baa Black Sheep as it's known to others .
Hi Phill. Awesome video. It was fun watching.
looking good 👍👍 I do feel a little cheated, on the ending lol...
Love and Peace From Canada ... And We are UA-cam ... I should have typed that in at the end 😆 Thanks Jim .
