You're young and you don't have any idea what you might be doing in 20 years. 25 years ago my biggest dream was to someday have a used knee mill and a manual lathe. I had no idea what was in my future. The things you saw at the show, people you met and things you've done will shape your future in ways you haven't imagined yet.
It's not that Automation only matters to young folks. I'm in my 40's, not longer a shop owner, but one of the higher ups with my current employer, and would never consider a big investment without automation again. Be it the bar loader on a lathe or the pallet changer or cobot on a milling machine. It just makes sense, like milling and Y-Axis on a lathe. If you can afford it, go for it. Getting skilled workers these days is one thing, but keeping them is just another topic in itself. It's not that you have to be a bad boss to loose them, but there's always someone paying 50 cents more an hour then you and lets be honest - money matters these days. I had someone leave that got three raises that year and wouldn't give him a fourth - You have to stop somewhere. Now with automation, a lower skilled worker is tending a new machine and this guys machine too. Would've kept him, but it's just not fair to the other guys. DMG Mori Machines aren't even expensive - Compare a T1 or T2 to anything that Haas offers. Haas is more expensive and of lesser quality. At least that's how it is in Europe.
A Haas more expensive then A DMG Mori in what country is that ? I was on the Apps @ DMG now @ WFL If you can get a DMG cheaper then a Haas prove it and publish on this platform where and which dealer
@@chrisyboy666I don't need to quote a Dealer, since I don't buy DMG Mori from one, but directly. The UMC750 we had was bought from a dealer and went back to him after 6 months of constant hassle, the Y-Axis being 0,08mm out of alignment was the smallest issue.

DMG Mori machines can be pushed harder than Haas machines as they are more precise and robust, at the long term the general dmg mori is going to last more than a haas and should be more reliable so i think the shots might be going on that direction. in my experience, Haas machines could be okaish for prototipes or low volume, if you are into production, my experience is very very bad, especially with DS30y lathe, no way near the +20 years sl150 they nhad
I appreciate you going to EMO because as you pointed out, there is no way that it is practical for me from the states. Does Mori not coming to IMTS 2022 mean that they do not want to play in the USA market? I wanted to see their stuff because I had a Mori lathe. You said that few other mfg. were making parts at EMO. That is sad. Mazak was at IMTS and they were making lots of parts on the show floor including additive. I just got a new Integrex and I hope you do a video on the Mazak booth Integrex so I can see how it compares to the IMTS booth.
Hi, they have a big showroom in Hofmann States, that was not faraway from IMTS. You can also as to the salesman from your regiin to check the closest machine that you which to know. Get in youch with them and check the options.
@@thomasbornstein210IMTS 2022 was really good for me. But I also was disappointed that Kennametal and Sandvik were not there. I ended up buying many thousands in tooling from Big Diashowa and Lyndex-Nikken because they were there and I could see how good their stuff is first hand.
wow, that is big money. I was just watching some videos I started thinking it must cost millions to arrange this big setup of DMG Mori. It must be exiting to the people involved in designing and putting all this together
So tell me who you dealt with when you dealt with DMG direct who was the account manager because unless you work for 1 of the 5 main blue chips that’s I know about that have a open door policy with DMG as they buy @ least 50 machines a year every year…so please tell me who your dealing with @ DMG that has that Authority to bypass the dealers and partners

What i heard the cost of a DMG Mori City alone was about 12 million €
