This wasn’t the first time they climbed a fence or whatever. Back in season 1, one or two walkers climbed a fence chasing after Rick and Glenn when they were still in the city. I kinda wish they would’ve kept that a thing lol
Yeah the show routinely moves the cast around from season to season. Thats why we get glimpses/teases of variants in the early seasons. Then they all of a sudden vanish. Also the decay of the walkers has been progressing.
For a decade now, the living have been killing all the slow, stupid zombies. Almost like selective breeding. Leaving now the fastest, more capable, deadly zombies to deal with.
@@munen343 there’s no glimpses or teases of any variants in earlier seasons. Season 1 just didn’t have the direction down for what they wanted walkers to be and be capable of 😂 writers have spoken on this. Common sense would also tell you they didn’t plan variant walkers 10 years in advance if it’s based off a comic with no variants 😂😂
Then what do I know. I just listened to what a guy said on yt. Lol. But it would make sense that variants of the disease/infection/fungus that creates walkers would spring up in different states/parts of the world.
The whole smart walker thing would make sense if it was only freshly turned people, like a newly reanimaited walker could use tools, remmber places where its been, even mummble words, that would make bites even more threatning or deaths even more dangerous, give a new sense of stakes the fresher the walker the higher the intelligence,
@@Vanishess Well when a show consistently kills off its main characters and side characters why would you remember their names? New season comes, new characters come just to die. And why the f*ck do you care about someone's ability to remember a side character in a mediocre tv show? Imagine going through the comments just to be a d!ck to people for no reason. Go f*ck yourself. And if you reply it will only be a waste of your time because im not reading that stupid sh!t.
I imagine someone is gonna get ripped into because they think they have enough time to load a bullet or two for a head shot then get clipped by a runner out of view, while the others look on on horror at how fast the victim gets swarmed and torn apart.
this is originaly what walker were supposed to do. If you watch season 1, when rick and glen are covered in blood and go over a fence, they do it. They also try to open door (like morgan wife)
I think the scariest thing about the varients, is that they are somewhat rare, so they are somewhat easy to forget, when you constantly deals with regulers
People forget the very first episode the 1st kid zombie Rick wastes walks around with a Teddy bear for days. After that they are only seen grabbing people/things, not carrying things or using tools.
It was a lot more dramatic without the music lol it was quiet at this part and soon as Negan said wtf the dramatic music dropped 😩 I watched it like five times in a row 😂
Strange how they didn’t see this type of walkers when it first started. Rick and his group came across plenty. Morgan’s wife as a zombie being one of them who even remembered how to open doors. Rick wouldn’t even be surprised😎
I always just said it would've made more sense if the reason you see less walkers doing that now is because most of them are decomposed and shit. Like the newly turned ones just have a decent amount of intelligence like in S1
That is not the case. New zombies are still dumb. This is more so that THOSE zombies are OLD. They are first “batch” of zombies that roamed colder regions. Hence their clothing and hence they did not decay as much mentally, until they migrated to this city. They will behave just like “fresh” zombies in Season 1 - soon enough, under new climate, decomposition will set in and they will become dumb again.
Even though I ADORED Negan as a villain, I can’t suspend my disbelief and stomach this writing of the show that he’s now aligned with our heroes. Wtf, it’ll never not be jarring to see.
I partly agree. It's common as hell in anime (Vegeta, Sasuke, Gaara, someone in Yugioh, someone in One Piece, etc), and not too uncommon in live action shows/movies.
@@windy3935 Honestly in anime whatever atrocities a villain/reformed villain has done, all they basically get is just a slap on a wrist because of the power of friendship. I mean Vegeta singlehandedly has caused numerous genocides and now he's part of the family. Negan still being alive borders on naive optimism on Rick's part if not just his need to get back at him by being better than him on keeping civilization alive. But I think his path to reforming is still quite well done considering people still didn't trust him for a long time and for some he was still the "boogeyman" that could turn on them at any time, and he had to work real hard to prove himself. Even that doesn't erase what he's done and he knows it but he's getting there
@@Fenrize I’m all for a reform arc, but it’s the heroes and former victims of his villainy tolerating him is what kills me. If all the major players that had vendettas with him were gone/dead, I could stomach his presence much more.
@@100grizzlybears Ngl, I kind of agree with you considering the whole idea Rick had about keeping Negan alive would be a pretty weak reason for anyone having a personal vendetta towards him to go along with it that easily. But like Windy said, villain reform stories are quite uncommon in live action shows/movies so I find it kind of refreshing but then again I'm kind of biased as I really like Negan. His story could have been better written in the tv-series especially when you compare it to the comics. Him and Rick having more the opportunities to talk, lowering him from that cult of personality/boogieman image he had made for himself to a more equal standing. Even if they never became buddy buddies as far as I remember, they found some kind of an understanding and later fought alongside each other with Negan saving Rick at least once. Made the redemption arc more natural imo

It's not a new walker tho. No variants. Does not exist. Is not a thing.
@@SlayerPDX What made you so sour? There were climbers in season 1 when Rick and Glenn were gutted up
@Rory Q Potter that doesn't make them a variant lmfao 🤣 a variant would be shit like the boomer from left for dead or the suicider from dead island... you know SPECIAL INFECTED.
What they did here is play on people's inability to remember shit, acting like they did something new when they really didn't do anything that wasn't already done when frank was in charge.
@@SlayerPDX Clearly you just want to smash your opinions into other people’s faces, so I’m not going to further engage.
@Rory Q Potter thats not an opinion it's a fact. These are NOT variants and anyone who says they are, isn't credible.
This show has run its course
Well that's why it ended dumb dumb
@@elrafa5845 that's not why it's ended.
lol no
it ran its course 6 years ago.
Negan when he realizes TWD is still on the air...
😂😂😂
Well, when writer's character development hits a ceiling, they figured it's time the zombies need to start carrying the water, or climb fences...
Negan’s response cracked me up here
Didn't watch the new season yet and I'm greatly disappointed the deaf kid who wouldn't have lived past the first 3 days is still alive
Lol so random but I guess. And isn't she just going deaf not completely deaf. The person who's completely deaf is Connie who was the best member in that new group so good thing they didn't kill that girl off. I would have been fine if they killed the kid though.
@cngotham4111 Connie is completely deaf and the kid who idk is a boy or girl is going deaf, either way group or not they wouldn't have lived for 13 years, zombies are loud and that's your only clue of where they are without seeing them (and maybe a smell but eh) ,Connie would've been dead in days if not hours
@@bejaminmaston1347 ivmean true but I really like Connie's character tbh. I fine with the kid(girl) to die off cause she was annoying. But connie was cool as shit.
@cngotham4111 I wish they had it where she lost her hearing in a accident after the apocalypse so it made more sense, though the actor is deaf too so it'd need to be a "trust me bro"
@@bejaminmaston1347 I mean before or after the apocalypse is irrelevant either way it's unrealistic for her to live this long. But she's a solid character so I'm glad connie is alive.
That one walker started to climb a ladder in season 1 when Rick first met Glenn
"Well the writers forgot about the Iron Fl... I mean Variants."
Lmao 😂 Danny kinda forgot
And Tyrion is in the Crypts with all the dead people- he’s supposed to be the smart one but 😬
To be honest, I’m really gonna miss this show..😢
At least we have the spin offs
Same
I remember the walker trying to broke the glass door with rock in early season
That was the perfect response to seeing a walker climb a fence.
@@shillstradameus4164 just not what happened at all LMFAO
@@munen343 there’s no glimpses or teases of any variants in earlier seasons. Season 1 just didn’t have the direction down for what they wanted walkers to be and be capable of 😂 writers have spoken on this. Common sense would also tell you they didn’t plan variant walkers 10 years in advance if it’s based off a comic with no variants 😂😂
Then what do I know. I just listened to what a guy said on yt. Lol. But it would make sense that variants of the disease/infection/fungus that creates walkers would spring up in different states/parts of the world.
Now, that was an honest reaction of WTF if I ever heard one.
What about in the film Blade, where ‘Blade’ mouths “WTF” towards the end???
What I could never figure out is alot of these long dead zombies still explode with fresh blood?
“What the fuck” is probably the only reaction.
It's a marvel how this show went on for as long as it did. These idiots couldn't deal with SLOW zombies and often died in such stupid ways 🤣
The whole smart walker thing would make sense if it was only freshly turned people, like a newly reanimaited walker could use tools, remmber places where its been, even mummble words, that would make bites even more threatning or deaths even more dangerous, give a new sense of stakes the fresher the walker the higher the intelligence,
Or perhaps it’s a fungus that maintains homeostasis within integral parts of the nervous system, which has some level of adaptability.

These new “variants” are actually a throwback to the beginning. Morgan’s dead wife turned the doorknob on the house they were in.
Throwback, more like last minute recycling ideas
if Morgan ever shows up and i see a door knob being thrown past his face 😁 would be a good throwback variant.
I just cant wait for them too see runners😬😬
Yep
@@zay4401 imagine everyone's reaction😳😂😂
I imagine someone is gonna get ripped into because they think they have enough time to load a bullet or two for a head shot then get clipped by a runner out of view, while the others look on on horror at how fast the victim gets swarmed and torn apart.
Walkers that fake you out by walking until they're about 20 feet away then sprinting at you.

It took this long for them to continue on with the idea of the zombies becoming more “capable”
this is originaly what walker were supposed to do. If you watch season 1, when rick and glen are covered in blood and go over a fence, they do it. They also try to open door (like morgan wife)
Negans WTF is what every Walking Dead original fan says when they tune in to see what the show is doing now

I think the scariest thing about the varients, is that they are somewhat rare, so they are somewhat easy to forget, when you constantly deals with regulers
He'll be really terrified when they start running again too. They just got lazy for a while; took a few years off.
People forget the very first episode the 1st kid zombie Rick wastes walks around with a Teddy bear for days. After that they are only seen grabbing people/things, not carrying things or using tools.
Zombies that can ring a triangle for gravy train. Right guys?! Right?

When Negan reacts like that, you know you've got troubles....
Makes no sense that these zombies come out the more time passes is like their brain links are getting stronger despite them rotting more.
Only Negan can deliver that line in that way 😊
It was a lot more dramatic without the music lol it was quiet at this part and soon as Negan said wtf the dramatic music dropped 😩 I watched it like five times in a row 😂
Basically took 10 seasons of brain rot for S11 walkers to regain S1 level intelligence that they forgot about for every other season.

Rick and his first group knows this variants from the beginning
I think in that moment Negan had experienced the most fear he ever had in a long time.
all fun and games till you hear "fetch me there souls"
Strange how they didn’t see this type of walkers when it first started. Rick and his group came across plenty. Morgan’s wife as a zombie being one of them who even remembered how to open doors.
Rick wouldn’t even be surprised😎
Not really strange. Just because the MC experiences something doesn't mean the secondary characters would have too.
That was the most perfect “what the fuck” I’ve ever heard.
They will behave just like “fresh” zombies in Season 1 - soon enough, under new climate, decomposition will set in and they will become dumb again.
if those walkers become track runners as well as variants, i have a feeling this show is just gonna become a blend of World War Z and 28 Weeks Later
Just like in State of Decay or Days Gone's game. :D
When I was watching the episode we both said WTF at the same time which made it even funnier
