I really love playing against Eldlich. The players are so creative and fun with their funky techs of Skill Drain, Summon Limit TCBOO and Lava Golem. They are just such creative people to run 12 floodgates in their main deck, just like in True Draco.
Dont disrespect my true dracos like that man lol they are nowhere near as cancer as eldlich. That deck needs to get gutted so badly
Eldlich is back because the floodgates can stop floo easily, that's my guess. Anyway, there is urgently a need for a not ranked mode where you could use your fun decks and not be worried about the try hards.

The not ranked mode you're referencing is called playing with friends. There will ALWAYS be some tryhard in casual ladders or even worse.....just bot farmers...

Eldlich is def totes a difficult match up for Floo in the few games I've played. Master duel is INSANELY easy to free to play. My god. No wonder there are bots.

This shows us the definition of fun being a relative term; nowadays is a miracle if both players are happy at the end of the duel, and that might be because were two rogue, "honest" decks that instead of going for "optimal" plays like Barone or Verte > DPE, they go for janky stuff like Dual avatar or Ursartic (No offense)
I'm pretty sure the other player is having a great day when Gozen or Skill drain is flipped and you have no outs to it (Skill issue obviously)
Fk floodgates of any kind, and DPE... An upgraded Pankratops + Pot of greed should had reasonable restrictions, and not just "Leave for the end the best Sky striker / Tri-bri monster", like "you can only summon Hero the turn this card is summoned / activate it's effects"

Shaddoll vs Eldlich was my favorite matchup. Grass shaddolls grind so hard and actually turn a game with eldlich fun. But adventure and floo just hurt the deck so much. Next year with tearalaments my Winda will see the light of day.
The water one (forgot name) having a send effect to deal with Eldlich in gy is the one who can better deal with Golden boi... and Hollow, but who plays Hollow anyways?
And as a semi Shaddoll / Tindangle player (Tindangle = any flip, 2 Flip > Shaddoll Construct, Dark flip + Link Shaddoll = Winda), I have to say: Fk Winda

@@Angels-Haven Naa, not anymore, my main deck is actually a monstrosity of like 5 decks in one (Aromage, Rikka, Sunavalon, Traptrix & Generaiders)
It's just that a lot of decks goes for the same suspects of Halk - Deskbot 01 - Auroradon, any two into Verte > DPE and so on, and it's boring

I've been unironically main decking red reboot ever since the new stuff was released. Trap decks counter floo, and red reboot helps getting rid of dreamy town so it's been a very nice card whenever I see it.

Master Duel desperately needs a best of 3 format especially with it's ban list
You will literally have the same exact side cards in every deck:
3 copies of XYZ encore (for Rhonogo)
3 copies of royal decree (for eldlich)
3 copies of skill drain (for Flowan)
3 copies of lava golem (for Sword soul)
2 copies of Token collector (for Halq -> Aurora combos)

@@PhoenixLive_YT That side doesn't do much royal decree takes one turn before it is useful and Eldlich can send it to the grave and skill drain also negates you, a good side deck would be something like 3 token collector for halq don adventure and swordsoul, 3 droll and lock for floowandereeze and drytron, 1 red reboot, 3 twin twisters, 3 dark ruler no more for combo decks in general and probably 2 lightning storm (but this last 2 can be whatever your deck struggles to beat). Niburu is also a great card to have but that is most likely in your main deck
Or just add in a deck preview plus pre-siding mechanic of some kind so every duel can play like the 3rd round of a Bo3. It'll ruin the surprise of some decks, but in a Bo1 surprise tactics are inherently unbalanced anyway.

Into a good chunk of these decks, you can just side in lancea. Lancea fucks PK, it fucks tri-brigade, it fucks floo.
You're outs into all 3 of these decks really suck(well you didn't even mention tri) cuz most decks can't flip skill drain and xyz encore is literally only for rhongo. You could also just like side in more non-lancea handtraps into PK & you can side in droll over maxx c into floo(assuming you're already playing veiler/imperm at max copies).
Into most combo decks, you can just play a combination of drnm and evenly and generally you'll be okay. Obviously with halq-don combos that's kinda questionable because they can get the yang zing counter trap, but alternatively you could also just run more handtraps(like running extra copies of ogre). Like yes adventure is broken, but if you open 1 handtrap to stop adventure and one handtrap to stop halq-don their turn is generally over. Also, they only have 5 cards to access adventure engine. Like you said tho, token collector does do work here(it also stops adventurer engine and swordsoul).
Into swordsoul you can either side in that other token collector or you can just run copies of dark hole if you have a way to bait out baronne negate. If they're on a protos variant, you probably should just side in more handtraps.
Your eldlich solution is probs the worst one of them all. There's no reason to ever run royal decree into eldlich, even if you're going first. Just play backrow removal & side in d.d. crow. If you can d.d. crow/called by golden boi they kind of just lose lmao. Oh and red reboot is broken but that's probably already main deck.
Speaking of options going first(though I specifically chose mostly handtraps so they can be relevant on both turns), there are better cards to run into certain matchups. D-barrier fucks swordsoul, halq-don to an extent, and a variety of other combo decks/rogue decks. Anti-spell fucks drytron, striker, pend, & basically every deck in existence that relies on spells(which is a god damn lot of them).

I always have fun against Eldlich with Weather Painters (and also against Floo with them). If you think the golden boy can floodgate you to death you didn't see what Weather Painters are capable of, especially with the Rainbow on the field (i.e. Weather Painter "Herald of Ultimateness").

@@miotakamiya True. I try anything that WP’s work under. Like Dimensional Fissure (or Macro Cosmos), even Necrovalley can be good. Of course us WP folk have a bad time if our back row gets wrecked so I try to run some protection like The Huge Revolution is Over, etc.

@@Jyxero: so I was playing Dark Magician against my brother’s Blue Eyes the other day. My field was Magician’s Rod, Dark Magician, a face up Eternal Soul and a face up Magician’s Combination with a Dark Magician Girl in the graveyard. My brother had a Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon on the field.
He entered the battle phase and declared the attack on Magician’s Rod. During the damage step, he activated Jet Dragon’s effect to target Eternal Soul to return it to the hand, and I chained Magician’s Combination, tributing Dark Magician to summon Dark Magician Girl and negate the activated effect.
I know during the damage step, if your attack target leaves, you don’t get to choose another target, but since he targeted my Rod for attack and the number of monsters on my field changed, does the attack still go through on Rod or does Jet Dragon no longer have an attack?

@@Jyxero: Combination also can negate Eternal Soul’s destruction effect if it does actually leave the field. Also if Eternal Soul leaves the field in the damage step, does it’s effect still trigger or does nothing happen since only certain effects can activate in that step?
If ES leaves on dmg step you might not get hit by Jet, but you would lose your monsters

Eldlich is the second reason I run D.D. Crow at 3 in MD (DPE being the first reason). They can't win if all 3 Eldliches are banished :]
Right now it’s not that good with Swordsoul and Floow in the meta. Some swordsoul hands don’t care about Crow
I prefer running 3 lava golems and 3 drolls in every deck to counter swordsoul and floo

Man, I picked a PERFECT time to go on hiatus from Master Duel. It looks like dogshit with golden glitter sprinkled on it right now. Great graphics and presentation, but GARBAGE format and an even worse banlist. Like, if you're gonna have a BO1 format, at least make an effort to balance it. Too many things that don't belong in a BO1 format are allowed to thrive in this game, and it's sickening. My days, is it almost unplayable or what? xD

Yes, so many cheese decks in BO1 and Konami only hit 1 of them (D.D. Dynamite) the banlist hits are laughable, it's almost as if they actually want cheese decks to thrive so the mentally challenged can also have easy wins.

Grave keepers debunk skill drain necrovaily end of issues
Funnily enough the two most enjoyable duels I've had in master duel were an Eldlich mirror and Floo mirror.
Floo was trying to interrupt each others chains while also trying to get Robina/Eglen into the grave via Book of Moon into Unexplored Winds so they couldn't return to the hand.
Eldlich was trying to time when to Huaquero/Called By the Grave the other's Eldlich while saving Eldlixer cards to respond to the other's attempts to banish. (Superior 2 Eldlich deck banishes puny triple lich deck.)
Both went past turn 5 and Floo I almost timed out trying to figure out how to play around the timing of effects and the fact that the opponent could respond to my normal summons by using Winds to send one of my cards to GY. They were the closest to "back and forth interaction" I've had in MD, since with other decks I feel like at all times one of us just got unfairly cheated because we didn't draw the exact correct hand to deal with whoever went first and it would snowball from there. Whether I was the one snowballing or not, it felt like a chore instead of a game.

@@Binzob Swordsoul is the most boring deck I've played, Quantals are extremely fun but extremely weak, Flower Cardians are extremely fun but weak, ftk varient's not fun, AND wastes too much of the opponent's time, and Live twins I've pulled like 100 packs for and still haven't gotten enough URs to make an even remotely competitive deck.
Maybe not everyone likes games being determined before your first official turn, or not even acknowledging the opponent's board because you used a single card that negates the field. If both players really wanted to play single player games they could just play Elden Ring.

Much love for the White Aura Whale. He regularly makes an appearance in my SS-variants. There is nothing so entertaining as someone killing the Whale, bringing it back as a Level 8 tuner, then dropping any Level 4 to make Final Sigma. **** Feel your pain Coder, been playing in the Zero Festival all morning, and 3 out of every 4 decks is Eldlich-something with mountains o’ Floodgates. My last game, guy had Rivalry, Skill Drain, Macro Cosmos *and* Summon Limit. He ragequit after the 3rd Heat Wave in a row, as I continued plinking w/ Adventure Token.
I love facing Eldlich because I play Salad and the matchup feels pretty good vs them. Foxy is great.

You need to try out a deck with royal decree in it if youre sick of playing against trap heavy decks
Cosmic cyclone should be find. Royal Decree can lose to Eldlich’s hand effect and it loses to conquistador

You can eke out unexpected wins with the (nearly) pure Kaiju deck. Kaijus + Lava Golem + Owner's Seal only gets better the bigger your opponent's board...as long as they don't have an anti-special-summon floodgate like any of the Vanity cards. So...considering that pure Kozmo is way better than pure Kaiju ever was, it doesn't shock me. PSY-Frames are one of the brickiest archetypes ever...but are amazing when you don't have a handful of Drivers.

When you keep running into the same decks because Konami won't fix their game....and then you fix your deck cause you keep playing against the same decks over and over, and then you get an opponent that claps you because that 11th deck was the same deck you played and they FINALLY gave you a different opponent with a different deck...it's like playing Russian Roulette with a loaded gun....your gonna lose every time.

Floodgates are annoying, not Eldlich. If Conquistador wasn't limited and instead skill drain was there would be little to no complaints about Eldlich. Also Floo floodgates with barrier statues and loops D shifter.
I see what you mean, eldlitch don't exclusively own floodgates, but when you think floodgates, you think eldlitch or true draco, as for statue and shifter, staute is kinda annoying but meh and shifter doesn't affect me much honestly.

I dont know why people hate Eldrich, yes there are flood gates, but Eldrich, the turn are faster, I rather play against someone who set, summon, attack, endturn, than someone who takes god damn 2-3 mins on their first turn putting down a 3-5 negate board that I can't get over. People only mad because they set their deck up to play against other meta and not Eldrich, If you set your deck up to play against Eldrich (lots of back row removal) Eldrich is easy to take care of, but if you do that, then you get ponded by the meta like Sword soul, so instead of blame sword soul and other metas, they rather blame Eldrich for them setting their deck up to play only sword soul.

This is why you adjust your deck to a meta and build your deck for best of one instead of trying to brute force your rogue deck that’s built for TCG style play

Guys I want your opinion. Was my opponent cheating or did he just get a crazy call out? I was facing a Floo player and went first, and one of my set cards was Infinite Impermanence. He activated his Crossout Designator before I activated it, though, and called out Infinite Impernanence. I was playing Salad and it could have been another trap like Roar or what have you, but he called out the right card before I played it. I thought I was just getting called out but then thought about it, and...why would he call it before I activate it? Was he cheating to where he could see my cards or something? I don't know...
Personally to me sounds like he was trying to bait the Salamangreat counter trap or trying to get a 50/50 shot in the dark with the crossout.

@@1001011011010 Only explanation for the shot in the dark is that imperm is commonly used in all decks, I do agree is a bit weird to call it before it gets played.
For all we know he could have misclicked the Crossout activation and simply made a good shot in the dark
Or there are also cases where Floo Crossouts some Floo card to add back via that one small bird, and maybe he changed his mind after activating the thingy

Couldn’t agree more. The meta is terrible and maxx c is the most annoying card ever. You either play ~12 hand traps and like five or six more board breakers or just play control.

stun does well under max c cause decks cause few typically playing the game needs SS even for control decks like sky strikers. stun can straight up ignore max c with limited thought so can dedicate all the deck splace to either countering the opponments deck or the main game plan

Yeah, welcome to my local meta. It was all just Eldlich, True Draco and other floodgate decks. The worst thing about this is that they think it's skillful that they drew a floodgate and flipped it face up ...
And yes, I was maining backrow hate instead of handtraps and it still wasn't enough. You can main 3-6 backrow hate cards, but it's nothing compared to their 15 floodgates
I just stopped playing master duel because of the amount of people that find set 5 pass to be fun. Idk how playing eldlich is fun in any way, so I gave up on that shit. I would actually rather play against splight 17 times in a row then eldlich
As someone who has played an unfortunate amount of eldlich in MD... it's not fun. I hated it after the first few games. It's slow, and boring, and honestly makes my brain go absolutely numb. But gotta get that rank somehow.

Part of me think this is what's holding Yu-gi-oh back from attracting new players. Some people in the community have this absolute hatred for simple or boring decks. If your not playing some galaxy brain 5 head deck then you get ragged on. But new players coming into the game or people just trying to learn shouldn't be clowned on for playing Eldlich. Its not a fun deck to play against I get that but go easy on "monkey deck" people.
Master duel shows you exactly what's wrong with the game. If we can play anything we will play the most consistent decks. Whether it's eldlich or the new stupid one card combo 6 interruptions shit, the money involved in tcg is too overwhelming

@@Jyxero I don’t think you understand how playing a competitive game works if you are saying “just don’t use the broken tool you can make good use of” especially saying it of decks that go plus off DPE. if you want verte DPE to stop being so prevalent then verte needs to be banned, just like a lot of other things in master duel.

that works really well for decks which main their side deck like pure invoked or decks which can search and use back row removal under flood gates. though most decks require too much of minimum deck space for it too conistent
