Day 13: 12 Generations Merlot, Bulgaria
Day 14: Octopada, Macabeo, Spain
This Merlot is the second Bulgarian wine in the wine advent calendar and I have to say and I’m a big fan of this Merlot, compared to Portrait of a Wallflower from Day 2. Just less intense aroma and fruit forwardness, making it a more enjoyable wine for me.

The Macabeo white wasn’t as floral and aromatic as I was expecting. The label and website rave about the region’s unique wine grape known for its exquisite smell, but maybe I used too small of a glass and should try letting it sit for a bit before tasting. With an acidic finish and very melon, grapefruit finish, not my favorite white in the calendar- ironic because they say this is a wine Advent calendar favorite!
