I stayed there in 2019, 2021 and 2022. The renovation of rooms and lobby were still going on in 2019 until as recent as 2021. The new room interior is lovely and fresh compared to the old one. The suite wing has conrad member lounge and separate pool area which is very private but they closed it because of covid. I love the breakfast because you can order ala carte egg benedict, dim sum and select dishes in addition of buffet. On beachside if you stay in hotel compound and not on public beach no vendor can bother you. The vendors are relentless since Bali just open this April since they have no business for 2.5 years sadly.
Thanks very much for that account. I'm going to add a note into the description about the renovation dates. As for the hawkers, yes I understand they are not allowed on the resort property- but there is no actual part of the beach that belongs to the resort. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
The last renovation was scheduled to be completed from 2018~2019 in three phases. During 2018, if my memory is accurate, the main pool was closed for more than 6 months and current breakfast venue was newly created in the main building. I'm not too sure if they had actually finalized the whole renovation process due to covid. As always, thanks for the wonderful review!
Thanks for another great hotel review video. Can tell there has been a great deal of work going into it, in addition to actually having to go there in person to do the filming.
"Non offensive corporate tropical" "ld bet my chihuahua" and the lighting throwback to 1997!! I'm keeling over in laughter here, you certainly have a way of setting the scene 🤣
I am South African, 77, and enjoy your videos. As an avgeek, I much prefer the airline videos. I have been in the luggage manufacturing business for 45 years, and your Thule luggage collection is good, although it's one of my competitors!🇿🇦🇿🇦
Luggage design is actually the number one thing on my list that I feel like this channel will eventually lead to. I love my Thule bags and they get the job done as best as I think possible given what’s available, but it boggles my mind how few high quality but light weight options there are on the market. The whole industry seems to be dominated by the American standard of a carry on where airlines only care about the size and not the weight. Anyway, I digress 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft Having worked in the luggage industry in South Africa, Asia and Australia, the most important component when designing new luggage ranges is the lightest possible weight. An example is the ultra light Polycarbonate Shell of new hardside luggage. Light weight, in my experience, is in the forefront of the design of any new luggage.
Your right about the counterfeit toiletries - many hotels use the same generic ones renamed to a known brand. I’ve had similar versions of rebranded aromatherapy associates. I really get excited about bathroom amenities so when they cheap out with fakes I find it incredibly frustrating
I’m the same with the toiletries. In the videos I don’t really let on to how much I love finding a new brand while traveling 😂 Luckily in this case Shanghai Tang isn’t really my thing. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I have stayed at the Conrad Nusa dua back in 2015, the exterior paint definitely seems different. From what I can remember it was sandstone that was in the lobby. The rooms had a different style as well.
Nice video Kevin! I'm actually staying at the Conrad Bali right now so it's funny to be watching this video. I'm in the suite wing so you're very right about the long walk. One thing though they do have a back entrance/driveway leading into the property so if you're going out during the day by car/grab you barely need to walk at all which is nice. On the Grab app, you'll put 'Conrad suites' as your destination. Nice to see the teddy monkey in your room, there's none in mine :(
Had no idea there was another entrance over there but it makes sense, it might as well be a different hotel haha. Enjoy your trip. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
This is one of very few hotel resort not just in Bali but also from entire Indonesia that is pet friendly! Last time I stayed here was New Year Eve 2021 and this has been our family holiday resort for many years. However, I think the resort has became outdated and could use some renovations
Nice review thanks mate. I looked at going to Bali in about 6 weeks from perth, wow jetstar the cheapest around $1000 no luggage or food. Checked all dates around this and all around the same. Recently went to singapore on SQ for $699 return. I have watched videos and bali seems dead. Maybe because of these insane airfare prices
Bali as a whole was definitely much busier than I was expecting it to be (and that was two months ago). Idk if it has something to do with Perth (or AUS in general) but flights from the rest of Asia are as reasonable as ever. Fares for me from VN are routinely under $250USD return and the flight is the same length as from Perth. I think the capacity from AUS is just still low enough that they can happily charge an arm and a leg. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I wouldn’t say the toiletries are counterfeit exactly - They, like many hotel toiletries are made by Sysco guest supply (who operates a duopoly along with la bottega). They pay a license fee to the brand so can’t be considered counterfeit, but they are made by Sysco, not shanghai tang. I lived in the Conrad Ft. Lauderdale for a year and they were the exact same as those, though I believe brand standard is now Byredo Mojave Ghost.
The counterfeit comment was specifically about some problems some of the resorts in Asia allegedly had some years ago. Not saying they're counterfeit in general.
Ahh understood - Thought it was a comment on those, which look good. I’m certain I’ve received fake Crabtree amenities at doubletree properties in Turkey, but the packaging was way less convincing than what you showed.
Great Video. Booked 6 nights here with the family this coming summer. Any recommendations or ideas on getting to and from the hotel. Taxi? Order car through hotel? order card through taxi app, order car through airport transfer sites etc? Also looking to go to Waterbom, same question on travel methods. Any suggestions on things to do and places to eat within walking distances from the hotel?
Great videos! Not easy making these so very appreciated. I'm a bit torn. As Daimond member would you suggest conrad (seems underwhelming) or someplace like mulia villas? Loved belmond the most but no fitness center is a bummer.
I’ve not been to the Mulia properties and I’ll just note I’m not sure when you’re going but they will be hosting the G20 later this year. Between the Belmond and Conrad- I mean it’s hands down not even in the same category 100% Belmond from me. If you could manage without the gym for a few days, I’d say that’s the way to go. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
For a couple visiting Bali for the first time, seeking sun, beach, good food/restaurants options, spas, and beach clubs to hang out at night, what accomodation would you recommend and where? I’d love for a private pool but sometimes you have to give and take 🤣
On opposite ends of the spectrum: Belmond Jimbaran Puri for an old-school & intimate Bali experience. Andaz Sanur for a more modern take, but the beach isn’t great due to tides. Six Senses and Apurva Kimpinski are also great options for couples but are far away from any nightlife. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft I’ve booked the cross Bali breakers resort in Jimbaran as a deal came up and am having regrets. I’ve been told that Jimbaran is isolated and that there is nothing to do there, is that true?
Jimbaran is a 10 minute drive from the airport and in turn from Denpasar. I’d hardly call that isolated. If you’re looking for the hippest and liveliest place on the island to be though, then no Jimbaran is not it.
Just looked up your hotel. Never heard of it before but I’ll note when I’m talking about Jimbaran I’m referring to the Jimbaran beach area. The resort you’re speaking of is much further south in the rural part of Jimbaran and not anywhere near a beach.

The pool side bar has never had great food. I actually think you have been fairly generous in your review 👍
Part of it is just down to how cheap it was (for a Conrad) and therefore how low my expectations were. I'm personally not one of them, but there are so so so so so many guests out there that are die hard loyal to one big brand and for those loyal to Hilton, this does pose a decent value for points redemptions. Beyond that, I agree ☺️

Thanks for describing all of the hotel including the fixtures and also that they are cleaned and there is no old dust and/or mold. why are the minibars empty instead of being fully stocked with beverages, beers, liquors, even sodas, and water? Are there mosquitoes in those water lily ponds as well as frogs, water snakes and other creepy crawlers? The sand is always dark. Don't they have any white sand beaches to go with the calm clean waters? I want to go to Bali most likely in the near future in addition to being so far away I would like a clean white sand beach, less kids on the property and more adults so there is more peace and quiet while on the beach, at the different restaurants and the lobby piano/bar lounge and other areas. I would also like to have a full Spa on the premises and a fully stocked gym as well and perhaps a club for nightly entertainment and music.
Always a huge fan of your videos! What I'm not a big fan of, however, is this resort... Definitely the one I've been the less impressed and inspired by from your trip in Bali. From what I could see, it felt more like an all-inclusive Mexican resort than a Balinese resort. Nothing wrong with that kind of hotel, you need something to please everyone, but it just isn't for me. Even if very well-maintained some places looked a bit "shabby" (especially the bathroom), and some others were just bland (area A mainly) as was the food apparently. But again, I get why some people would go for it and the price seemed fair for the facilities on offer. Thanks for sharing ;)
