I will absolutely be riding this, and I am grateful for a more direct route. I regularly need to get on to 116th and this will give a nice direct connection, instead of the long way around over by the light rail depot, or sketchy shortcuts (to the left up the hill of this new connector, or through the back parking lot of the retirement home next to the depot).
Thanks for sharing the visuals! Great explanation of the three options including this new one. I might give it a try sometime on a commute from Kirkland to Redmond. I've done the other two options though this route is longer than my more direct commute route so I only ride it for variety.
This looks awesome, and its a great example of how a local government should function. A healthy mix of private and public investment that allows infrastructure to be built way faster, making it a win-win for everyone in the community.
I was somewhat disappointed that they didn't try to connect this to the nice, wide shared-use path bridge directly to the east (on the north side of Northup). They even put a giant concrete block to make that connection even more awkward than it already is!
What do you think of the new connection? Would you use it? How did you like the video (drone!?)? Hope you're all out there riding safe.
I probably won't use this one a lot just given where I ride, but any Bellevue bike infrastructure is great.

Beautiful! I wondered about the surface material but then remembered - Seattle gets a lot of rain! :D
