Just like I eagerly await & rewatch new films from Jordan Peele, I also eagerly await Jeymes's.
Such an exciting and inspiring time as a person of colour.
I wish my dad and grandparents could have seen these changes on the big screen.
My great grandparents came to Canada from the South because you could get farm land here and build a life for yourself free.
They built a farm and a successful life for themselves in 1910. All my grandma new was cowboys and farm life and loved westerns because of this. She would have loved this film so much.
I saw myself and my family in those characters and it meant a lot to me to see such a beautiful relatable cast onscreen.
Love this cast, love this director.
Would love to see Wesley Snipes and Sterling K Brown in a sequel since they couldn't make the shooting time changes in the first.

First came across Jeymes Samuel on his song "Who Writes The Song" like back in 2004 or so.... Loved and respected his talent since then... Glad to see him reaching this level.

Wow, didn't even know he work on Great Gatsby but I've referenced that film in contrast to The Harder They Fall. That's a signature, that there's a connection there.

Mario Van Peebles did Possie in 91/93, and before that Esther Rolle played Stagecoach Mary in a biopic, and before that Sidney Poitier did a Western, and another black actor did a western, and Lisa Raye and other black actresses did Bed Of Roses. And Aretha Franklin's ex-husband Glen Campbell is an actual cowboy with a ranch, and there's the Black Rodeo every year at Griffith Park, Glendale, California. There are countless stories out there, black Americans know about this history and embrace it, there's also the urban cowboys, that actually ride their horses around their city. Black Americans are taught since birth about the black cowboys, and even whites know about it, it's part of history. The only part of society that doesn't focus on it is Hollywood.

The issue I have with him, is he’s under the assumption Black Americans don’t know this as part of their history. He casted the biracial skinny woman, we knew who stagecoach Mary was. We also still have several cowboys today in Texas, Mississippi, LA, and even some parts of the North. He’s speaking toward British Black audiences.
Now why would you manufacture an “issue”? Fact is - Many black Americans don’t know this history. I would even venture to say that Probably the vast majority don’t. I only knew of three of these characters - and that’s only because I’m a nerd. No one else I know -
knows. Why? - cause they’re not interested in history.
Many don't know you cannot speak for everyone.

Jeymes Samuel says "THE HARDER THEY FALL" is a more truthful depiction of the 19th century because a large percentage of black people were cowboys. That is true -- but NOBODY used 2021 LINGO when talking ("Hey bitch!") -- the lingo in the movie, the modern make-up, everything was just despicable. This is what happens when someone wants to imagine what THEY think it was like in the past. It was NOTHING like that crap movie. Then Jeymes Samuel obviously has a bunch of people go on Rotten Tomatoes and give it a good rating. Nobody I talked to about this film, black or white, or any race, thought it was good. It was like a bad MTV rip-off!!
