Oooo, I just thought of perfect comparison. In the game Ghost of Tsushima, it’s the difference between Jin Sakai (Samurai) versus Jin Sakai (The Ghost). One is bound by honor and tradition thereby causing them to lose in a head to head battle against the mongols and their leader. The other came to understand the reality awaiting those who follows the honorable path and begins to utilize everything deemed “dishonorable.” Like Cherokee Bill, it’s not about who’s bigger, stronger or faster on the battlefield. It’s about who’s throat gets cut in the dark the night before.

It's interesting how Cherokee Bill's expression is one of quiet reflection and sadness every time he kills someone, or is challenged to do so. It is a crime against nature that this isn't regarded at the same level as Jordan Peele films, because so much lied beneath the surface, and the art direction was excellent. I couldn't think of a single character I didn't enjoy watching, and I loved the sequence where Mary is being told about Trudy's first kill and the only person she loved- the way she slowly, slowly peeled the apple, round and round and round. The more skin that came off, the darker the story, until the apple is entirely unpeeled ...and there is no story left to tell. It was an excellent way to flesh out her character. I have nothing but positive things to say about this movie.

@TheIslandParable to "go a bit further" in this context is sort of nonsense. Someone can't do so many masculine things as to become a man or more specifically a trans man. Unless cuffee said I am under the impression I am a man, or at the least I want people to believe I am one, then I'd say they are not trans.
It's like if I had a friend that loved flying in their flight suit. No matter how much they do it, it would be silly of me to assert that they must be trying to become a flying squirrel.

Honestly it feels like the super-hero click that dominated main stream media has outstayed its welcome. Westerns like Wind River or Old Henry were obscured but are amazing films that I wished had a larger viewing.

People saw him as dirty, but the thing I highly respect about him was he give you an out. He give you chances to walk away first and if you choose to fight, then anything goes.
