Once the contestants are through due to someone getting a high score, Xander should encourage them to take a risk and go for a pointless answer...to increase the jackpot.
He should not put any pressure on them to take chances. It is their choice of what to do. Some do take a chance, to try to get better money, some play safe, because that is how they feel comfortable. It is their dream to come on the show. It is not up to anyone to put pressure on people to perhaps destroy their chances of fluking a win. And we don't know who really needs the money. £250 is hardly life changing, anyway. Do you really feel so little for people who come on as their great sad little dream, that you would encourage them to risk their only chance for a still pretty pathetic sum? You descended from senior rankers in WW1, who saw other ranks as worthless?

@@ken12603 Yes, I think I've seen him do that, but it seems he hasn't on the most recent ones I've seen. IMO, is should be as a matter of course, since it seems clear they almost never think of it.
@deddyson BBC is funded by TV licences and does not get income from adverts, so they don't money to splash out on prizes. You basically play for brag rights
Robin didn't know. He asked Mary and she pretty well shrugged and said orange. If you were completely guessing, you would have been better off choosing red or black. The lads who won deserved it, anyway.

@@Kass401 any comments at all on how this game should be played is completely bloody pointless, so everyone should relax.
He does that quite often.

Very deserving winners
Indeed. They're a great father-son duo. Too bad the prize taken was too low

Incredible. Who knows anything about runners really? Wow.
How could Robin and Mary think Ethiopia has orange in their flag?!

Because, just like me, they didn't know what colours were in it, so they guessed.
