It's like everything on the ship is coming back alive.
What a beautiful sight.
indeed
Only with 0 People.
You guys NEED an award. I have never ever seen such a real-looking detailed game. And even of the most famous ship ever known in history. You guys are Incredible. This needs to be said more often.
Unreal engine 5 lets the digital assets shine with its hyper realistic lighting. UE4 didn’t do it justice because with Unreal Engine 4’s lighting, it underplayed bow high quality these assets actually were.
Masha’Allah, congrats to the artists!
May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you to Islam and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.
Suggestion: how about a "lean over" button, same as the "crawl" button? Such that you can look down the grand staircase side hole like Ligtholler did the night of the sinking and down the hatches?
Yes... This was one of my favorite things to see in Demo 3 VR
I agree, it'd be nice to even look down from the promenade deck and peek at the side of the ship as she's sailing.
The thing that strikes me most in the difference is the increased use of natural sunlight over artificial electric lighting. It's fascinating the effect this has on various areas; in some places the sunlight streaming in looks more vibrant and alive, but in others it can actually make some rooms (particularly the First Class a la carte restaurant) feel darker and colder than before.
Unreal Engine 5
It’s like the transition in the end of the titanic movie between the wreck and how titanic looked
I appreciate the teams hard work here, do your part to boost this video to more people by liking and commenting!
I remember playing Adventure out of Time many years ago and thinking how beautiful the ship looked in that game. I never thought I’d see anything like this! Well done!!
Why do i have tears in my eyes?
To see a magnificent work that always evolves towards reality and brings me closer to the Titanic❤️.
Thank you and friendship from Belgium🇧🇪
I'm following THG for years now and I can tell there's so much dedication to this project! Now with the new game engine it looks even more stunning!
Honestly can't wait for the full release. An amazing looking game and seeing the Titanic come to life like this even digitally has always been a dream of mine.
This is so beautiful, I don't know how else to describe this masterpiece
Beautiful! What an amazing upgrade Demo 401 V2.0 is!
its so hard to comprehend that all this is at the bottom of the Atlantic
Unbelievable work, thank you for your hard work and dedication
Such a stunning project, huge improvements
This is absolutely breathtaking! Can't wait for Friday!
All the time, effort, patience, and temperament that you've all gone to all the trouble of to create such an accurate, comprehensive, and detailed recreation of the R.M.S. Titanic is incredible. I can hardly wait to see the full game when it comes out. Keep up the great work!
This is absolutely georgous. Excellent work guys.
This is magic, so excited to play !!
Wow! Just stunning.
I legitimately said wow more than once.
Man, it's all so beautiful and yet haunting at the same time!
This is beautiful, just beautiful
This is absolutely stunning!
Genuinely amazing work.
Beautiful ship and yes i agree. Awards for all involved.thanks for all the videos.
Stunning as ever!
So amazing
I can't wait to try update 2.0 here in the coming days, so much more of the ship to explore. I could stare at the engine's animations for hours.
Glorious, absolute perfection beautiful magnificent in detail ❤💯
mind blowing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Why is this so relaxing?
Chills
Chills all over my body
Absolutely beautiful work as always, and the attention to detail is just wonderful. The most minor of issues I have is just with the glassware on the tables. They are so perfectly clear that you miss out on a lot of the detail of them. Perhaps the texture needs a bit of a matte overlay to break up the clearness?
Beautiful but also a shoutout to the music I can listen to that on loop to relax.
Very awesome!!! I love the Olympic class ships 😎👍
I CANT WAIT !!!
Amazing work guys, I can't wait to have this running on my system :)
I hope this wins major awards. I can’t wait til y’all are done with it.
Omg this is just stunning to seriously look at. We are legit less than 3 days away! I’m so excited for this it’s not even funny. This is a big deal for people who are big fans of this game like me, absolutely more than what beautiful truly is because of how important Titanic was at the time it was 1914.
I want so badly to show this to my 2018 Demo-3-Obsessed self.
Outstanding doesn't even begin to describe this stuff! :)
This kind of lighting technology wasn’t there in 2018. Things like Ray Tracing wasn’t a thing. Demo 3 used unreal engine 4, which had the best lighting for its time.
The graphics of Demo 3 in 2018 was literally top notch.
This is done using Unreal Engine 5. This engine COMPLETELY overhauls the lighting unlike anything ever seen before.
This game update just takes advantage of the new lighting Epic has created. It really demonstrates how good these assets really are, Masha’Allah.
May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.
Incredible.
Incredible
I spent many hours exploring every tiny detail and area in demo 3, and again with 401 last year. The biggest improvement by far is the lighting. I love how the light just spills into every corner and reflects off of surfaces. It looked great in demo 3 but this is even better! Aside from some lower poly props this looks as damn close to real as I've ever seen! Almost looks like a scale model in some shots.
I know this project has had its ups and downs, but I still look forward to the final product, no matter what!
This is made possible because of Unreal Engine 5! Demo 3 and 401 (original release) used unreal engine 4.
There are a ton of UE5 demonstrations on UA-cam that show how good the lighting on the new engine is.
May Allah (S.W.T.) bestow upon you His Blessings and Guidance; Ameen.
I have to say this is awesome ;)
It looks so so real!!!
To 374K subscribers and random viewers. As a Patron myself I kindly ask you to join us aboard the grandest and most beautiful ship in the world. This project is incredible as the ship it faithfully represents. See you at the grand staircase...
Stunning. I cannot wait for this latest update, and the full game when it’s available.
Will the music be in this demo? Adds so much atmosphere.
Quite a few changes since 2017!
Today is the big day!!! Guys I hope it's something spectacular!!! Long Live Titanic Honor and Glory!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is just an incredible thing to see! A game that is almost like your walking in Titanic itself. I am truly amazed on how you all are able to build something so with very little of Titanic’s photos. It just keeps getting better and better! I love the look of D deck so luxurious.
Do you think the faux celine dion intro played on the real ship too?
To be honest. It makes me cry. This is so beautiful. You guys brought the ship back to life! It will always be here. You guys are incredibly amazing.
I love the new engine and your work is beautiful. Thank you very much! It would be a big improvement in inmersion if you would make a visible character that interact with the ship: opening doors, sounds of steps, levers, lighs on/off, lantern in the twilight, etc like RE7 ❤
Aw man you beat me to it, but still, awesome progress
That is amazing I'm loving the progress. You should get Fluid Ninja for the water sims such as the pool, it's great and very efficient :) I wish you guys all the best, I've been enjoying witnessing the progress of all this since its early days.
Looks absolutely stunning!
I really miss your update videos, though. Honestly suspected the project had gone to a halt before these beautiful trailer videos started appearing.
Would be great with even just a 5 minute quick and dirty update every two months, or similar. Not necessarily in too much detail, just the main points.
Definitely going to buy the full thing when it's out. Would even pay in advance, Kickstarter style, if that would help the project.
We have been reliably been posting multiple monthly updates for quite a while now on our Patreon and other social media, so please follow us there. The update videos take far too much time to create.
I do hope once the project is done (which I will definitely be buying by the way, especially if it’s in VR-this is the kind of thing that only happens in dreams!) I do hope they try and make it sink, too. It would probably take an absolute supercomputer to work properly (sorry, old potato computers…😅) but could actually help us learn a little more about how she actually sank. It’s interesting to think that this project could be something we use in the future to figure out a lot of what we don’t yet know about the ship itself! Overall an incredible work of art if you ask me. A ship of dreams indeed…
Such a fantastic work so far.
When full version?
April 10th, 2112.
They will never finish it lets be honest
The ship is only 50% complete so don't expect the full game anytime soon.
@@ButtonBashOfficialFor Honor and glory, that´s likely, but Project 401 will still come out this decade, i think.
The lighting is so much better now
In the final game, you'll probably be able 2 turn the lights off and on!
It is crazy how much work was put into this. Would love to see fluid flux plugin for ocean/swimming pools here. It is a pitty it is so expensive, but the effect would fit to the quality of Titanic.
Great stuff but please sort the pool water out, its now impossible to see through the water at all which is noticeable at the stairs. Also I am no expect to water ripples/waves but there appear to be too many in the pool unless that is normally behaviour on a moving ship.
ganz schöner unterschied. besonders gut das a la carte restaurant. beim schwimmbad fehlt aber die uhr an der wand
Before and after look on the demo from one and two.
its going to be fun to walk around in the old girl.
❤
I'll definitely be donating with this update. I'll feel like I'm stealing something by downloading this for free.
beautiful, what if they add one more table variant for a change. maybe.
Would love to view this with my PC VR headset HP Reverb G2. VR is a must for this experience.
Wow, I only thought it looked good before. The team has done a phenomenal job with the lighting. This is more like how I understand Titanic's interior was lit; a bit dim and shadowy, compared to a contemporary ship anyway. The light bulbs they used were something on the order of 20-40 Watt.
In the final game, you'll probably be able 2 turn the lights off and on!
Great job !!! Please, tell me that this demo will be compatible with my Oculus VR headset, like it was with the demo 3 😍
Wish they would rebuild her. What a site she would be.
*sight
Their have been attempts, look up ''Cancelled - Titanic 2'' by Bright Side Films!
The graphics have improved, but it seems a lot more darker and it doesn't have that grand warm light I love about titanic. It's still great though
In the final game, you'll probably be able 2 turn the lights off and on!
@@trevorblue4531 I hope so
@@swigglyforce5215 They said they wanted everything 2 be interactable, so U could ride the lifts, play piano, operate the cargo cranes........I'm sure that would include the lights as well, so U can see the difference between the natural and artificial lighting!
😍
But when is the full game?
Never
Did you just ask your own question?
This game is never coming out lulz
The answer is a resounding Tom.
222 Anniversary
This needs to be released on steam as EA p.p
Did you guys fix the White Star Line logo on the blanket in one of the cabins? It was reversed. I commented on it awhile ago, but I received no response.
😱😳 wow
This looks great but I do have a question! A while back you all did a thing where folks who donated 5 dollars could have their names written in the purser's book and I am just curious but is that still a thing you're all keeping in the game? I really hope so but I've been out of the loop so I am not sure if that changed or not. Keep up the great work!
You subscribe on their Patreon now to appear in the end credits :) from the $12 tier and higher
Kinda like the fuzzy version, more realistic like what I'd see but then I'm nearsighted.😁
I'm so excited for this. I just hope my pc can handle it. In the previous ver the water is just a black hole. 😢
I had 2 upgrade my RAM from 8 to 32 GB so it would run!
So at first I couldn't really tell which was newer. Demo 3 or 401. Because there seemed to be less 'clutter' in the 401 scenes which left me assuming it was the older version. But watching more closely aside from the artifacting sunglare, 401 is MUCH more realistically lit, and less gamey looking. Great job!
until they manage to implement REAL TIME lighting, it'll always look off IMO
@@meuhey Real time lighting is almost always a downgrade in visual quality. The light baker used in V2.0 is a pathtraced GPU baker, so assuming the materials (colours and properties of objects) are set up correctly, it will almost match reality. To be more clear, the way the light baking algorithm works mimicks the physics of real light photons.
will the music from DEMO 3 be in demo 401 after the update?. you have the music from DEMO 3 on this video.....
Wow...
Is there going to be a game made with this map?
Good god ❤️
I have no graphics card yet so only demo 3 works (13600K). Everything maxed out at 1080p runs at a blistering 10fps, but with a few changes I can get up to 30ish and still looking decent. The cpu isn't maxed out. I think it could probably run faster -with a decent graphics card- on lower end systems if draw distance was able to be manually reigned in. Weather effects, night and day, perhaps even to match real time, with the ship at sea with a feeling of movement (optional) would be interesting. More controls too eg right click on a mouse to zoom in very close, a button to be able to take a photograph, working elevators, click to open doors, being able to pick up objects even if only to have a closer look, and being able to crouch or sit down on an actual chair whilst still being able to look around and read a first class menu 🙃would all help with the level of immersion. Nice simulation.
Just when you think you've seen everything about Titanic!
We need this, on PSVR2...🙏🔥
''The final version "Titanic: Project 401" WILL have VR compatibility.''
The ship is really looking beautiful! There is one thing I hope will not be featured in the 2.0 update. That's the artificial iris effect which happens when going from bright to dark, or dark to brightly lit areas. It's causing issues with gamma correction, and other things. Other than that, the detail is absolutely stunning! I'm stoked for 2.0! Thanks for the comparison video.
I like that effect in general, but it's way too exaggerated in most games and demo 3.
@@funnyml3356 Indeed. If it could be toggleable, or made last intense, that would work.
Is the music making a come back?
Can't wait to get my PC back from repair to walk her again.
Also I'm not sure if the not perfectly aligned floorboards at 1:44 in 401 vs 3 are actually intended?
I'm sure it's intended, cause the open space floor boards are connecting 2 the Scotland Road boards, and being 2 different floors, it's unlikely they would have perfectly matched up!
@@trevorblue4531 Yeah, I thought something like that, that they probably wouldn't have been perfect, cause the assembly somewhat splits there.
Also I'm amazed how great it runs tbh! 144FPS throughout on basically all highest settings, which is so awesome to see, compared to previous versions.
@@Rainquack Probably different builders were working on each floor, 1 team would have cut all the open space boards the same length, then trimmed some of them 2 account 4 the stairs and walls, and nailed them all down, while the Scotland Road team would have been nailing down their own boards 2 build the hallway, then when reaching the open space, they didn't evenly line up, cause they were made with different sets of boards, that weren't originally connected!

Sad you guys dropped VR support for this demo, it was a fantastic experience in demo 3. I hope there will at least be a mod for that :)
Agreed. VR really made the ship stand out for me much more than seeing it on a monitor. I tried one of the more recent demos via an unsupported VR config and it wasn't reliable enough to be enjoyable. I'm hopeful that someday the demos will once again take on a fully supported VR experience.
Apparently “project 401” will have VR support (although it seems “project 401” will be the point when they move from free demos to a paid alpha)
''The final version "Titanic: Project 401" WILL have VR compatibility.''
will the upcoming demo (asking this 2 days before it comes out) have a vr version available too, or no?
It will not but the final version "Titanic: Project 401" WILL have VR compatibility.
Greetings. When I try to download the 401 2.0 demo I get the following error: Error 404 - Not found

Anyone else think there should be a couple 'Easter eggs' in the game when it's finished? Like four of the cabins that were historically unoccupied during the maiden voyage should be listed as being the cabins of Dr. Robert Ballard, Ken Marschall, Don Lynch, and James Cameron?
They're planning on adding several homages to Tom Lynsky.
I am begging so they make the full game
Can you see when you are outside in the daylight? In the og 401 demo everything was way too bright.
This has been adjusted
I remember when this game was gonna release in 2017, and was to run on a 4GB GPU at max settings.
Now it's "sometime before 2030" And I'm pretty sure they haven't invented a graphics card that can run this at ultramax settings.
What a wild wonderful modern age we live in.
I had 2 upgrade my RAM from 8 to 32 GB so it would run!
@@mroldnewbie the previous demo didn't work properly and that is why they made this one.
@@mroldnewbie yeah, sure, but right now the "newest" version is demo 401 2.0, while the "previous" one was demo 401 1.4.2 (and this one had issues with loading).
