@@nancygarcia1812 this is an extremely unfortunate case because the statue of limitations expired on the murder of Jacob. The statue of limitations in the US ( I'm not sure how it works/if it's a thing in other countries) is a law that certain crimes cannot be charged on someone if a certain amount of time has passed from when it happened to when they had enough evidence to charge the suspect. It's absolutely horrible that this man could be free soon and there absolutely should never be a limitation on murder or rape

This is so horrific. It breaks my heart that this happens to any child. I remember when I was 12 I was in Orlando with my family and me and my sister were by ourselves at the beach. I forgot something in the hotel room so I went back up by myself. When I came out of our room there was a man who came up the staircase and started walking with me. He was about 45ish and very sketchy he started asking me weird questions and complimenting my bikini and alarm bells started going off when he started using profane language. He asked me if I had a boyfriend, how tall my boyfriend was, how old I was, if anyone was waiting for me in the hotel. I was scared but we were the only people around. We got to the elevator and as he walked into the elevator I acted like I was walking in too and then I turned and ran as fast as I could back to my room and locked the door and cried. I was so scared the rest of that trip and I never told anyone. There are so many creeps with nothing to live for that will kidnap and assault children. Its so scary. That poor boy.

When they guy got out I could see he was pissed but then he looked at me and just smiled. After crying he started hugging me and told me if I went to his house and talked to him he would forget the whole thing. Mind you it was like 3 in the morning and he was driving a luxury car. I said no and he then grabbed me pushed me aside of the car and started fondling me. Luckily someone drove by and got out of the car. From what I heard about this case, (from MN and I was a year older than Jacob) his red jacket was exposed in the first burial site, and that's why that piece of shit moved his body. I don't think his jacket was exposed the whole time. God this case was and is so heartbreaking.

Bella didn't mention it but isn't possible that since he was buried in a cow pasture the piece of fabric sticking out wasn't always there? There are tons of things that could happen so that the piece of fabric later on would be on the surface... Wind, the cows eating the grass, the cows moving the dirt... I guess I just don't want to believe that he could've been so easily found on those searches and wasn't.

When I was 14 a stranger approached me, he told me to stay with him, He wanted me to smoke a cigarette, I refused, and wanted to leave, he insisted he wouldn't let me, so out of panic I dodged his hand that tried to grab me, jumped over the fence and ran home, when I was home and told my mother to call the police and tell them there was a pervert around the nearby playground, she said she didn't want to make a big deal or get involved. If those things would be taken more seriously, less would happen.
(I shook it off pretty quickly, this comment is for awareness not for pity)

His parents are amazing people with lovely souls, and patty had said that she believed he was alive for those 27 years. having that hope taken away must have hurt so badly. I love that you chose this case it really hits close to home. My mom grew up with Jacob and we followed his story since he went missing and me of course since I was born but his case impacted my life greatly. The night he was finally found we all turned our porch lights on for him one last time

Growing up in Minnesota almost everyone knew the Wetterling case or had seen the billboards. And I remember that my family and a lot of others would leave their porch lights on in solidarity with the Wetterling's, "in case Jacob came home". It was probably what shaped me into a true crime junkie because from birth until it was solved there was always the question of what happened and where he was

I was raised in SW Minnesota and Jacob’s kidnapping changed our world. He played hockey with my brother and his age placed him right between my older brother and I. At the time I remembered him but now I wonder if that was childish fear. His kidnapping was the end of feeling safe in small town Minnesota. I remember that time vividly. It was something that stayed in the back of my mind for the next 20 years.
What bothers me most is why every farmer didn’t continuously search their entire properties. It’s certainly what I would have done. I have to believe he wasn’t found for so long so that Patty could help so many people. I remember when she came to our elementary school and spoke to us about how to be safe. To me, Jacob could just has easily have been my own brother or myself as we had the same interests so when I saw her in person I started shaking so badly I excused myself to the bathroom so that I could get ahold of myself before anyone saw for fear that people would think I was attention seeking.
Jacob you will always be in my heart. I understand why the Wetterlings made the choice that they did. No one could face the idea that he was truly gone until this heartbreaking confession. My prayers will always include the Wetterling family and all those who loved him.

@@Grace-jz7uo they also get raped themselves. They say to be in prison for pedophilia is the worst. I saw pictures of pedophiles in prison and their pants were full of poop and cum. Cus they also get raped. Its disgusting but they deserve it.
