I will never understand how people can become so sick and no one figures out they are mentally ill and does something about it before they grow up and become dangerous. This is such a shocking case. My heart goes out to the family.
Don't ever talk to cops without a lawyer. Ever. His wife was killed and the cops put him through the wringer. He got mad about the awful questions they asked, and that's exactly the kind of thing they use to show how bad your temper is. They know what they're doing and we don't. Lawyers do.
Very true. That's one thing I've learnt from true crime cases and I tell everyone I know. Its not a sign of guilt to request a lawyer. Get one immediately
That made me so sad when she said she wanted to knock on people's doors to see if they wanted to be friends. I would have loved to be her friend. Poor lonely girl ..
My husband is from Bismarck, Nd, and I met him in Los Altos, CA which is where I lived since a child. We met less than 1 month before Arlys' murder. My husband was horrified when her death hit the papers. It was sort of like "what kind of place is this, when you can get murdered in a church??" It was a weird coincidence. I felt so bad for her for she died in a horrible way. Her killer was caught with DNA in 2018 and committed suicide 1 month after my husband died. We didn't meet Arlys but, her life and death haunted myself and my husband.

I love seeing staple true crime mysteries get solved during this era (the McStays, Golden State, etc) because I can go back to the old UA-cam videos and remember what we all theorized and see how close people got to the truth.

@@Userr608 Yesss, so sad
Have they found their bodies?? Such sad tragedy that deserves more attention.
as soon as you mentioned the security guard i knew it was him
dna can be faked so can suicide
I'm so mad, I never thought this would happen in a church. Can we women make like a country for women only. I don't feel safe anywhere. :((
I get your point, but there are plenty of women who kill.
@@AnaHallie Yah you are right. We basically can't feel safe with almost everyone :(
Sometimes even our most closest ones can be seen taking our lives! This world is horrible, I hope people who's fate was like Arlis Perry will have peace in the hereafter 😔
@@AnaHallie thats a ridiculous statement. The risk of being murdered by a woman, and sexually assaulted, if you are an adult woman yourself, with no relationship to the attacker, is basically zero. Basically if you are not a child, and not in relationship drama or financial struggles with a woman, you will never be killed by one.
idk :/ just don't go anywhere alone especially at night and make male friends that u can trust to protect u if something were to happen also keep self defense weapons on u at all times
Men are the problem though. I think you need to keep alot of women near
Bella!! PLEASE cover the unsolved case of Brookelyn Farthing case in Kentucky. It is one of the biggest missing person cases my town has ever had! She has been missing for years and no one knows what happened to her. I know her mom and she still tries every year to bring attention to her case. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Sure, I'll comment to help spread this
I’m so glad this case has been solved. I remember learning about it first as an unsolved case years back. Arlis was such a sweet girl and I know her and her husband would have gone on to live a happy life.
nooooo the dad passing away before closure broke my heart :( and may Arlis rest in peace
Get one immediately
as much as I love the unsolved cases, I literally cannot stop thinking about them, so I love how you do some really interesting solved cases!
This just breaks my heart. The very place she knew to be a safe haven is the very same place she died. My heart goes out to her family.
not me being from the bay area, having been in that church multiple times and not knowing this story....
That made me so sad when she said she wanted to knock on people's doors to see if they wanted to be friends. I would have loved to be her friend. Poor lonely girl ..
these videos make my week. these solved cases are my favorite bc they give me some resolution instead of them being stuck in my head all week
Arlis' father did get closure because when he died he reunited with Arlis and she told him what happened. They are both at peace.
I am so sorry for your loss
UGH that is such a coward way out! Like what did he know?? Was he the one who actually killed her or was someone else there??? Who did the hand print belong to??
I am thinking that someone was already there and when he stumbled in on it while he was gonna lock up, he saw an opportunity to also be a part of it? And then pretended that he didn’t see anything if that all makes sense
Kielly Garza wow I didn’t even think of that! I just assumed that it was the person who changed the candles out for the church when the old ones burned down but yeah it could have been two people involved. And maybe that dude passed the poly because maybe he didn’t actually kill her but played a part in it? What a bazaar case
@@lynnwilliams8295 he was most likely a psychopath so could probably fool a poly test
Sean Ryan true! And like she said back then technology was not the best.
@@alyssavez7047 maybe it was the flute guy. I mean are we gonna dismiss the fact that he was found with a naked lady on the floor surrounded by candles??
As SOON as I saw the picture of the security guard i was like oh it was def him
me too
please do the case of george smith!! he “fell” overboard on a cruise ship in 2005, the scene was super suspicious (including a blood stain in the shape of his body on one of the ship’s lifeboats) but no one has ever been charged and no one really knows what happened
Such a beautiful woman with a whole happy life ahead of her 🥺💔
I’m also from North Dakota and have never herd of this case! So sad she was so young
Why would he have an ice pick if it wasn’t premeditated
Omg i didnt even think about that! My mind just kind of swept over the fact that he used an icepick. Unless for some really strange reason the church had an icepick (why would a church need an icepick?) then the killer would have had to bring it with them
Or unless it was part of his work equipment I guess
throughout summer hen i was tanning in the garden i just listened to all of these videos the WHOLE summer and it was great
me too!!
I listen to these videos while gettinf ready in the morning 🤣
I feel it is most true, that when he met God after killing himself, justice was truly served in the highest most powerful way it could possibly be. 🙏
Fr 💘
I'm so happy her case was finally solved!! Have a great day!!
i love how these videos are quick but so full with information. this is such a sad case.
Hey Bella, I just want to say I love how simple your videos are! A lot of true crime youtubers tend to overdo it with graphics and intros etc and yours is just nice to have on and binge (which I’ve done.. many times)
Please do Dingos got my baby? I’d love your insight as an Australian xx
watching this and then hearing he’s lived in my hometown for so long doesn’t sit right
Can I just say that you’re a good story teller tbh
You should call this Solved Sunday. I love your storytelling skills✨🥰
Her case was featured in the Sons of Sam docu in Netflix. So glad to see this solved after so long. Even watched the video of the cops capturing the culprit.
It saddens me that so many psychopaths got away with murder because of the lack of technological advancement back then, especially in the 1970s. But I'm truly grateful for the discovery and existence of DNA, CCTV, etc today that makes getting away with crime that much harder.
But what about Bruce after he finally found out what happened to his wife how is he doing??🥺
I thought of this too 🥺
He’s a highly respected doctor specialising in childhood trauma. He’s never remarried basically threw himself into his career. He’s a really good guy I follow all of his work
@Jimena Guadalup Flores it’s Bruce D Perry I highly recommend to anyone to check him out. He’s so inspirational!
@@angelie3246 wikipedia says he remarried
@@anushkasomavanshi8883 ok well that’s news to me, but I tend not to believe that unless he got remarried last year. I’ve read his books and you can tell he didn’t have many people close to him in his personal life
I got chills after the first sentence😶
Hello sunshine, always happy to see another video from you! Also hair goals omg 😍
Glad to hear this case was solved, it’s a really sad one , especially the part when she found it so hard to find a friend at one point, wanting to knock on doors and see if anyone needed a friend. I would’ve been her friend. she seems like she was a nice girl.
RIP Arlis, so sorry someone took advantage of you in a place where everyone should always feel safe. I bet you were such a light in everyone’s lives who knew you.
I have tried to watch this video in bed like 5 different times now and keep falling asleep. Your voice is so soothing 😂😂🤦♀️
im sorry it was A METER LONG?! STILL IN HER?! poor girl
Hey Bella, FYI at 2:20 the photo is of Salt Lake City , UT so isn’t relevant to your story. I saw my hometown and heard North Dakota so had to do a double take 😅
So glad it was solved. Such a sad case, may she Rest In Peace.
Your hair is flawless! Gives me Charlie’s Angels vibes!
its the me binge watching her videos then getting scared to leave my house FOR ME- 😭✋
Bella, I had to take a second look at you because, you could be my baby sisters twin. I'm so glad that this case is solved a sad case but, comfort that it was solved. Thank you, Bella.
Please do the case of Clayton Miller a teen from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia it’s so sketchy!!!!
The transition from happy ad Bella to serious true crime Bella always gets me.
I had a hunch it was him from the beginning because his photograph looked so much like a mugshot!
Bella you've really been on it posting every week. I'm proud of you
Hey Bella! You should do a video on the disappearance of Kyron Horman! He was a 7 year old from my hometown Portland, OR who disappeared from school back in 2010 and his case is still a mystery. PS: love your mystery videos
I second this!!! I’m from Portland too 😂
Same, from pdx😂🤞🏼🤞🏼
Fathima Zahra Khan I know right 😭 it’s so sad. It was a huge deal here for a long time. And a lot of people suspect the little boy’s stepmother had something to do with it which is so horrible.
Yes! I'm from Hillsboro... I remember when that happened and how crazy and devastating it was to everyone. So many people got involved in trying to search for him. That whole situation was so sketchy with the family! Wonder if we will ever get answers about what happened to him.
I watched a True Crime Daily episode on his case, as well as an update a few years later. I really hope that Kyron and his loved ones receive justice someday! 💕🙏🏼😘
i went to navy bootcamp & the moment i got my phone back i went straight to your page 😭
Holy crap! I’m from ND and have never heard of this case before. Thanks for covering it so well.
I love seeing staple true crime mysteries get solved during this era (the McStays, Golden State, etc) because I can go back to the old UA-cam videos and remember what we all theorized and see how close people got to the truth.
I honestly think it was the security guy
Edit: guess what i was right
I should really stop reading comments whilst watching 🤧
I knew it was him just by his weird photo
because this isnt a ✨movie plot✨ its a horrific murder case, people are going to discuss the details in the comments
She's like 15 days older than my father and it's so sad, no one deserves to lose their life because of someone else
I KNEW IT! i was suspicious since he locked the doors and went in at 2AM around when she was murdered andhe had access
These cases make me not want to go out or even think about going out at night alone or with someone I can't fully trust. This is so sad and so scary.
so the flute guy and arlis did engage in something when he was playing the flute and arlis was on the floor naked. but what I don't understand is how did the security guard rape and murder her? did arlis not leave with the flute guy or did the flute guy help the security in raping and killing Arlis?
Hello Bella and fellow mystery solvers!
The beauty of the church is amazing, only to be defiled by such depravity. What she went through is incomprehensible.
I literally LOVE watching solved cases
I’m obsessing over her hair anyone else ? ❤️
I loveeee your channel so much, it is so authentic, you always speak about cases with respect and nothing you do contradicts that.
Usually as soon as a satanic element is even *mentioned* as a possibility let alone someone writing a whole book falsely linking the two, most youtubers would put satanic cult in the title or whatever just as clickbait to get views, you haven't done that out of respect and not wanting to spread false info even in the title. 💛🌞
OH. MY. GAWD!!! I LIVED in Del Coronado around the same time!!! I was a kid, but WTF??????
It is the security guard. I know it.
I attended young life through high school, even as a non christian it was the best tome of my life. All my leaders were amazing people
not me watching this right after megan is missing and literally sleeping with my lights on...
@Bartholomew Jr. its a girl who was kidnapped there is a movie about her adnd its called "megan is missing" i wouldnt recommend, i found it scary and slightly traumatizing. but it was a good movie.
I’ve been too scared to watch it, is it as bad as tiktok says it is??
@@Lily-rn1ob i would say some of them are overreacting. i did have to sleep with my lights on tho lol, but its more disturbing than sad. definitely not a cry type movie. but ya some of the parts are super scary for me. im also not a scary movie typa girl
@@Lily-rn1ob I think it’s horrible I wish I never watched it, it’s just too extreme and i watched it with my boyfriend and I couldn’t sleep for hours the same night and still sometimes get scared
that movie scared me to poop. it went from 0-100 real fast
I listened to this on an unsolved mysteries podcast several years ago. A few mins into this video, it sounded very familiar. I'm so glad they finally found the murderer!
