Special teams are so garbage, those assistant coaches need to get their walking papers. They didn't improve anything at all during the whole season. Tire fire. Keefe is not a bad coach, but his assistants are a total joke.

Monty and the Bruins were the presidents trophy winner last year for a reason. Learning lessons after winning such. Ask the 2021 Avalanche and 2022 Panthers.

This is why I am glad we did not resign Bertuzzi. Great player and played well for us, but watching all the games it was clear he was not flowing with the system we have.
The Bruins have always been a team-first entity. Thus, they are almost always a very good or excellent team. They just lost the incredible Bergeron, the talented Krejci, and Marchand is only a year and a bit younger than superhuman Crosby. Yet, they are still a much better team than Toronto. Teams win, a collection of players lose. Look at Vegas last year. Florida this year. Tampa before that,,,

This sums it up perfectly. We got 40m+ on the bench squabbling like babies and throwing their gloves while Marchand has his boys dialed in. It’s night and day difference. That’s why Marchand owns this entire franchise and we will never beat him.

There are no consequences for most of the Leafs and staff. They are all well paid and the arena is always full. The players go home to their mansions and the fans grumble in their beer. Maybe it's all a reflection of the culture of the city?

The last thing the maple leafs need is another scorer. They need some physical defensively skilled guys, same thing for the oilers. NO CUP for either shouldn't be a surprise.
@@tihseht472 The Oilers were much improved on the defensive side, after a horrible start. During the 16 game win streak, they didn't give up more than two goals in any game. But, they are an offensive team for sure. 17 goals so far in three games in the playoffs. I wouldn't count them out as a cup contender. The Leafs on the other hand, are likely done next game.

Matthews got in a fight with Keefe, you can see them in the background arguing on the bench. This was immediately following the 3-0 goal when the Leafs were getting booed. Then they announced he's missing the 3rd period with "food poisoning" and will miss the 3rd period but my gut is that there is something more there
Matthews spat on Keefe’s face which enraged him so he sat him in the third period. Guy Boucher will coach the next game.

The media coming out with all sorts of excuses. And the fans get another disappointing post season with the high priced talent that can't dig deep enough to get it done at playoff time. Maybe it's finally time to make some wholesale changes? But wait, they play some exciting regular season hockey, charge the big bucks and the place is always sold out. Who really cares what they do in the postseason. It's a money making machine. Why mess with it?

Not a Leafs fan, but hope Canada can end the cup drought for 31 years. Watched the 1st period of the game, Leafs played like an AHL team today. They will never win a cup with the current crew. I said that a few years ago, it's a mistake to sign Tavaras with big contract, same for Marner. They are just not that good.

It always just feels more like a rivalry because of the passion of those Canadian teams. I want none of them to win besides my team.
