Fast Delivery 📦 Great Experience I Highly Recommend Perrin for all your WRX Mods 🎉 BPV & Intake Arrived Fast 💨
The intake sounds phenomenal I just got mine yesterday I couldn’t be more happy. Took me about 2 hours to install mostly because I didn’t have a gear wrench I only had a socket. Much love. Sounds so much louder than I thought
Glad you're loving it! Sorry to hear it took you sometime to install.
It sounds epic, I need to get myself one of these.🔥
We agree! what are you waiting for!?
@@PERRINPerformance I ordered one in wrinkle black last Friday. Can wait for it to arrive so I can get the install video done and enjoy some sweet turbo noise’s!
My hyper pink one arrives in a few days, can’t wait!!!
Woo Hoo! I hope its arrived by now! You're gonna love the noises it makes!
Wow this one sounds way better then the ets ❤ I need one
What are you waiting for! Click the link in the description and make all those cool wooosh sounds!!
Awesome! What about a vid showing the "easy" installation?? Thanks!
Hey thanks! I'm sure we could whip up an install video soon!
Yes the Perrin intake on a stock tune works real good, and the cool turbo noise, no gimmick, intake and exhaust is a must
good to know, just ordered one
any check engine lights? air:fuel ratio okay?
you wont run into any CEL, our intake runs really well on a stock tune. here is a link to an AFR graph with the stock tune s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/perrinperformance/perrin.com/products/_sliderMain/22wrx-vs-caiafr.jpg
@@SlandroStoriesjust installed one on a family members car and drove it. No check engine light or air fuel issues. As they stated, above around 4k rpm’s it will run slightly lean. The persons car I put it on doesn’t have a lead foot and rarely drives spirited. If you’re going to buy it for power and rip the car around, get a tune for the car’s sake.
Perrin you are gonna break my bank. Now I have to buy your charge pipe and cold air intake😂
Don't worry, we got you covered with Affirm! Definitely a wise combo to purchase.
And don’t forget the strut tower bar!’
@@Rick4345 should I go for the Perrin or the Cusco?😂
@@spacedmellow5031 My personal preference is Perrin. I can’t speak for Cusco because I’ve never been a customer. From what I’ve experienced, Perrin is one of the best when it comes to customer support. For the best price, I think Import Image Racing would be your best bet.
Looks and sounds great. Release date for the tmic? Hopefully it comes in black
TMIC is coming very soon, so keep an eye out 👀🔥
Will definitely buy as long as I can keep car tune stock and this will not mess up the car.
Our intake is 100 percent safe with the stock tune!
We know that there was many issues with the first intakes that came out for this car from other brands. Because of that we ran loads of tests pushing the car as hard as we could on the dyno before we released our intake!
all intakes need a tune for turbo cars why would you want to throw off your map
@@ramvaldez783 just want some more turbo noise without void warranty
@@egallihugh8153 exactly and plus its dyno proved to gain 20-25 whp
I can’t undue that it looks like a microphone 😄. I think I will try it! 🔥😎
Oh please do, it works just as good in the studio as it does on the street😆
When will it be 50 state legal?
getting the Perrin intake installed by my Subaru dealership hehehe, does not void warranty
ooooo... Cheeky😏
What was the worst AFR reading you guys got on the STOCK tune and no other mods?
Hey Brandon, we understand that at the beginning when intakes for this car were coming out that there was a lot of problems.
Because of these issue we made sure to run as many tests as possible with and without a tune to make sure PERRIN was coming out with a safe and reliable intake for the 2022 WRX.
Down below is a graph of the AFRs, feel free to take a look for yourself and decide what "worst" means to you. Additionally, if you have any further questions or need any more information feel free to email Jeff Perrin at jeff.perrin@perrin.com

Are you guys developing a tmic for the fa24. Is that a prototype in the vid?
Yeah buddy! stay tuned because its not that far away!!!
What is the maintenance on the foam filter? Never had one before. Washable/serviceable?
We plan on making i video in regards to this. For the mean time though... yes they are washable and reusable! A quick search on Amazon for "foam filter cleaning kit" will bring up what you'll need. We personal recommend the Uni cleaning kit. Of course you can usually pick these kits up at any local automotive store or retailer that sells automotive supplies as well.
Personally waiting on Cobb to come out with one.
why wait when ours is ready to go!? Whats the appeal of Cobbs over ours to you?
Stage kits, OTS maps, CARB legal…??
If those HP and torque numbers are true on the stock tune I'm getting one.
They sure are. Its amazing how much more responsive the car becomes with such a simple bolt-on mod!
Where can we find the AFR’s from Perrin’s no-tune testing?
Here is a link to our graph with a stock tune. It's a comparison of stock intake and our CAI.

Does this fit a 2022 to 2024 Subaru Legacy XT with the 2.4 Turbo?
No, it is completely different 🥺
Is it safe to use with the cvt transmission and no tune?
Sure is! We had a few people do some testing prior to launch and our intake preforms the same on CVTs as it does on the manuals.
Will Perrin release arf data showing the intake is safe with stock and Cobb ots tunes?
That would be cool
probably not since it'll clearly show you need a tune. It's highly doubtful there's no change to the intake characteristics
We hope this helps clear things up!

@@PERRINPerformance so there is no need for a Perrin cai specific maf curve when using the stg1 93oct ots Cobb tune?
Yes that is correct. With the Cobb OTS Stage 1 Tune we found it to be very safe with loads of testing. Now if we were to talk about a custom tune, please refer to your tuner, we can provide them with a stating point for a MAF curve as well.
Does this work with JDM WRX S4 which has higher output and with CVT?
Perrin has been out of stock of this intake for months...is there a manufacturing issue causing supply shortage?
So I ordered mine a month and a half ago but I just got it in today they are just back ordered apparently
Its just a really hot part. loads of people ordering them so they are back ordered at the moment.
I ordered mine November 4th and still don't even have shipping information@@PERRINPerformance
So I see a perrin tmic...where can I get this?
yes it does, and its a great pair!
WIll the intake work well with a 93 stage cobb tune
As a matter of fact it will! and very well I might add.

@@PERRINPerformance Thanks for commenting back, I’ll be putting my purchase on it soon.
Does this work on ascents?
No, this intake is only for the 2022-2023 WRX
After install, when shifting, my car now makes an annoying tone when shifting. Think long pressing a phone button. It’s not the spool up, whine or blow off of the turbo. I know those noises. It’s like a 3 second tone when shifting.
I would say its is the OEM diverter valve. It does have a bit of a whistle to it.
Awesome, thanks so much. I’m assuming your diverter valve will fix this issue?
Yeah, no whistle just pshhh😉
Will there be a non-oiled filter replacement for this? Oiled filters are not ideal for long term use on the MAF sensor
We don't have any plans to come out with a dry filter for this car. With that said, we've been running our oiled filter on this car for quite some time now, including one of our employees who dailies his car and have had no issues. Oiled filter vs dry filter is a personal preference but for 20+ years we've been using oiled filters for the performance benefits and the low maintenance.
so the intake works with Cobbs ots stage 1 maps
Yes it does! Its a perfect pair as well. you'll be very happy with the noises from the intake/turbo and the butt dyno will be very happy😁
Will this require a tune?
No, our intake does NOT require a tune. you'll be able to pull it out of the box and slap it right on! With that said, our intake will also work with any "off the shelf" tune that you might like to tune your car with.
good with the SPT?
Good question
We have had a couple customers install and run our intake with the SPT and have had no issues.
how much of the hot air does the shield actually block from the intake?
While cruising down the road without the shield, the intake temperature will be 15° ish hotter than ambient.
With the shield, the intake temps will only be around 2° hotter than ambient.
@@PERRINPerformance great to hear. So at a stand still I take it they are higher then like the stock box or like a box like ETs or mishimoto? Any reason not to go bigger in the piping size since most of these will be paired with a tune to get max performance and efficiency?
At a stand still the stock air box also heats up a bit and can cause higher intake temp readings, but that doesn’t cause any performance impacts while driving.
We have also seen on the dyno when the stock air box heats up, because it is plastic it takes much longer to cool back down.
The size of the pipping is not holding back power, rather the size of the pipping affects how the car runs.
@@PERRINPerformance so bigger pipe the more tuning you will need and your aiming to not have to tune if the person does not want to correct?
Keeping the diameter closer to oem does help when not tuning the car but it doesn’t make much difference (large or smaller diameter) when looking into custom tuning, when chasing power.
When will this be back on stock?
It really depends on the color that your wanting. To be able to check and confirm inventory it'd be best to reach out to our sales team at sales@perrin.com! they'll have access to inventory to check on the color you're wanting!
@@PERRINPerformancejust placed my order last night 🤙🏽
Was that moustache a dare? has it filled in yet?
No it wasn't and no it hasn't. I started putting miracle grow on a few months ago though so we should start seeing results soon!
@@PERRINPerformance haha. Your a good egg! Im ooking forward to installing one of these shortly. How's the availability?
Sorry for the late reply. If you haven't found out on your own already these are hot! They are currently on back order in most colors.
However on occasion we do have a few on hand, to get the best count on inventory you could give us a call and we can check for ya.
Good luck undoing the clamp on the turbo without removing the under splash shield…. Guarantee your not doing that from the top of the engine bay… ask me how I know 😂
Alright you got me.....how do you know?😅
@@PERRINPerformance because the one on the turbo, is really hard to reach to begin with and the clamp is not clocked in a fashion to be removed from the top. I just installed the ETS intake since yours is never ending back order, and I can personally tell you, unless your arms or 4 feet longer or more, your not loosening the clamp on the turbo form the top.
Please get these back in stock, they are always gone xD
Its a hot part, what can we say! You can always shoot us an email or give us a call as we sometimes have very limited quantity of certain colors.
no heat sheild? no bueno. cmon Perrin
For real
Did you even look online? They clearly also sell a heat shield for it lol
@@squirrelzar he didn’t mention one or install it. So not that clear😂 good going marketing guys. Lol
@@squirrelzar It should be included for no additional charge if they’re going to market it as a “cold air” intake.

@u.s.m.c13 duh 🤡 🤣 so now that u got the Dyno numbers, did u buy one? I'm assuming no but obviously could be wrong
Needs tune and it has been proven that it needs it. Why lie Perrin ??
I can say with confidence that OUR intake does not require a tune and we have proven that. I am also not aware of anyone proving that our intake does require a tune.
I am aware that there was a major issue with the initial run of other manufactures intakes for this car. For that reason, that is exactly why we waited until we could run as many tests as possible on our intake including running it on a personal daily driver with no tune and no issues.
