For the BORDER use the CHERRY RED & POOL BLUE interchangeably so you get to use the colours and also see each month (Only If you aren't able to use those colours in the blanket) XXX Love you!!! You Inspired me to make my own Banket but I'm making a Mood Blanket by knitting
she is literally the adult i aspire to be when i grow up. she is so amazing and always puts a smile on my face! keep it up
For the border I think you should do tassels or pop poms because I think croqueting more around it will take away from the actual temperature blanket and colours. Also if you wanted to tassels/pom poms you could either elternate 2 colours so u can still see the different months or you could do them the majority colour of each month
Maybe to divide each month you can make a tassel made of the average temperature of the month
Great idea!
Hello from the future - it is October 2023 as i watch this and i am loving it!!! Im staying true to the journey and only watching it a month at a time, but im so excited to see the blanket and the pillow!!! ❤🧶
Maybe add a small tassle or pom marker at the end of each month! Adds a fun little flair to the blanket and makes it easier to see where months begin and end~
To separate out your months use either white or black tassels I use them for my 2019 temperature like it and they’re gorgeous
Omg I love the little Ceacers doll in the background😂
Hello, I'm from Chile, I saw your temperature blanket on the shorts on UA-cam and fell in love, a very nice project when you knit just one row per day, so not tireding at all and a nice project for the house I just love it and started mine, I'm just a few days behind to catch July and I love my temperature blanket.... So thanks so so much 😍🥰😘😘😘
For the boarder you could still put the average temperature for each month but you could put a white or black marker in between
(It’s is just an idea🤍)
For the border you should put the average temperature of the month and put a stitch of black or white in between each the month so that if 2 months back to back have the same averages you can tell them apart
YAY SO EXCITED FOR THE HALFWAY MARK! 😄😁
For separating out the months, you can always crochet afterwards using "surface crochet"....there are tons of vids that show you how....it's basically slip stitching or chain stitching over the top of the crocheted fabric already made
You have inspired me and I’m making a blanket with 2 rows of every thin yarn I have and I know so excited to finish it
You could do a different stich.
You are amazing, always with a smile.
I thank God for people like you!
For marking out the month you could make the border switch from white to black for every month
You made me start crocheting and I'm doing my own little blanket while watching your videos
To seperate out the months:
On January 1st-3rd, do a black/white border, then do the average of the month up until Jan 31st
Then repeat this every month so you have the separation and the colour
I would also recommend doing this on both sides for symmetry ^-^
Hope this helps :)
I love your channel so much and I love watching you
For the border you could do all colors that you use for the blanket, January can be the coldest and then just keep going to the next color every month.
I love that your Merch has sunflowers, because I love sunflowers 🌻
You can take the warmest color and coolest color and go back and forth with them, like cherry for January and pool for February then switch it to cherry and so on and so forth
You could do a light to dark fade of your yarn colors switching colors each month for the boarder! I think that would look really cool! You could also choose a warm and a cool gray and switch each month! I hope you use one of my suggestions and if you do can you add my in your video so I can see! Thanks and good luck :D
Edit- You could also just choose white or some other color and switch the stitch you do for each month! I don’t know how obvious that would be but it’s a cool thought!
I just learned how to crochet last month. I love the idea of a temperature blanket. I am going to make one next year.
For the border, you might be able to use the average temperature for the month with maybe five stitches of white or black just at the divider line.. in my head, it’d almost look like a dashed effect… If you wanted, you could do another small border of the same color (white or black) around the whole thing to tie it all together.. It’d take a lot more yarn, but the black would make all the colors pop :):)
Love all the updates!! I had NO idea what a temperature blanket was, but now I’m thinking about starting a modified one for the school year (I’m a teacher, so it makes a small bit of sense in my head haha).. thank you SOO much for sharing your journey!!
And your army of succulents.
You could maybe stitch or embroider a thing that makes you think of each month, like maybe a snowflake for December and a heart for February and so on?
You could do white tick marks where the stitch markers are, like a spike double crochet or something. Also, I just wanted to point this out - the blanket reminds me a lot of the Netflix intro where all the colors come on the screen! :)
You could add white tassels and when you get to each end of the month make the tassel the average temperature. Then it's all broken up and you can ee the ends of the month
Hi ~ love the blanket. In regards to the borders for the months you should do the borders the colours of the temperature averages for each month. With one or two stitches black or white. For example Jan average temperature match it to your key and use that colour
Maybe for the border you don’t necessarily do the average for every month but just like “assign” a color from ur yarn and use that so January could be the second coldest till august being cherry red and then use pool for December and whatever color u want for September-November
You could add tassels on the side to mark out the different months
OMG!! it looks like an ocean sunset!
For the border you could use the color used for the first day of that month. Like if January was forest green the border would be forest green and February if it was sage than the border would be sage
Alternate cherry red and pool as the month separation on the border.
To mark out the months on the border, would you consider taking two colors and alternating them with each month for two of the sides. Then on the other two sides you would use one of the two colors across the entire 3rd side and the other color on the 4th side. I hope that make sense. You could even use the Pool and Red if you wanted.
Instead of a border you could add a few tassels down the sides of the blankets I think that would look super cute
I was going to suggest you use the colors, one for each month in the order you mapped out possibly starting with the coolest color and ending in the brightest color but you would need to add two colors to make it work.
My second idea is to use those colors randomly all the way around the blanket. So for example of that would be to make the top part, across the blanket it could be sage then down one side, marking January with a cherry red border. February could be gold border, March could be jade border, April could be aruba sea, May could be periwinkle, June could be coral, July could be Turgun, August could be cool blue, September could be green, and then you could continue with the same color pattern and start with jade again for October or start a different pattern, choosing a different color to border the bottom and alternating colors up the other side of the blanket so maybe January has cherry red on one side but it has aruba sea on the other side.
Cant wait to see the final product! Bet it will look awesome lol
You can make the boarder what ever you want from f course. I would suggest using the color or colors you don't get to use to make the boarder. So if you don't use cherry red in the blanket then by all means use it to make a boarder. You make the rules.
You could sew in black to separate the months because I was crocheting a pattern and I forgot to add a colour but this method actually works
Awww! You should start your LA pillow from the date you first moved there!
To split the months you could sew/embroider a contrasting colour in-between the months, perhaps in a black or grey to show through but not take away from the full affect. I'm thinking sew/embroider a - - - - line or x x x line 🤷🏻. Loving the colours tho!
If you never get to use cherry red use that as a border and then have a stitch or a couple of stitches marking the average temp of the month at the end of each month
You could put a tassel on the beginning of each month!
🍒 I think I have an idea for the month dividers - If you don’t get to use Cherry Red, maybe you could use the Cherry red to divide 🤷🏻♂️🍒
Hey! I have an idea to seperate the months! First find the last row of the month you want to seperate, then crochet on top of the project! End each row like you would if you finished a project, then start separating the next month! It is a little hard to explain, but basically, once you’re finished there will be texture along the blanket - to bring it all together, you would crochet along the border of the blanket! The end result would have white (or whatever colour you want) stripes separating each month, and a white border. The lines separating each month would be slightly elevated because you crocheted on top! I hope this suggestion helps, and I can’t wait to see the end result!
For separating the months, you could put tassles of white or black where you currently have the markers. I dont know if it would work, just an idea
It's good you did the average because if you did the high you might get to use cherry red but there's no way you would get to use pool...
Girl, it’s soooo beautiful! Makes me want to start one lol
You could but maybe next year
Take the sesons of the months and slowly ombry it so like Jan wold be pool and Jun or Jan (your choice) you would do Chardy red. Spring would be greens fall would be yellow/orange. Winter would be blue and summer would be reds.
Maybe you could do birthstone colors for the months border? Not temp related but just an idea. :) Tempted to start a temp blanket too but intimidated because of the late start lol.
I HAVE AN IDEAAA okay so for the marking of each month you could have a tassel where the markers are!
Hiii your blanket looks soo cute and buatiful
Do tassels on the ends to mark the months.
So you used the average daily temp for each row....my suggestion...make each row the daily low, average and high. Divide each row (example each row is 100 total stitches make the first 20 stitches the low for that day, then the next 60 the average and then the last 20 the high for that day) tells the story for that day. Just a thought 💭
I have the same giraffe!
You have inspired me I don’t know how to knit or crochet but from how pretty the blanket is I really want to make my own but it’s colder where I live so I might not be able to use any warm colored
Btw I might do one next year
Look at your areas past weather and base your temp chart based on that. I live in an area where it's 70 or higher for most the year so for my kiddos 1st yr blanket there is more color variations in the higher Temps solike 70-75 is one color and 75-79 is another. But the colder colors I give a 10 degree range. Jsut to help get more variation.
Maybe you can use a different stitch to mark the month :)
I love the reds my favorite color
I like this
Maybe Mark the months with tassels the color being the average temperature of that month
How about picking 2 colours for your border and alternate it for each month.
What weight yarn are you using for your blanket? I just love the way it looks.
What about isolating each of the four seasons by an extra row, instead of each month?
Maybe use birthstone colors for each month
I think you should do 1 pillow for every month it's just a suggestion
Omg how much yarn does it usually take for the blanket
Rather than the average temp for the month just do whatever color you used the most for the month. (Would prob be close to the average tho lol)
Hello! Why not used the high temperature for the border 🤷🏽♀️
What about using the highest temperature for each month to seperate them
Maybe weave ribbon between each month?
I want to do this! but knowing Malaysia my blanket is gonna be 1 colour only T_T, I've checked the average temperature they're between 80-84
Hi Holly, I love how the temperature blanket is working out! However, I'm a little confused about how you were able to gather the average temperature of the day. All the ones I can find on my weather websites are for the average temperature of that day from all the years before, not the average of that particular day.
Here you go :) www.wunderground.com/history/daily/us/tn/nashville/KBNA/date/2022-4-11
I think i suggested the average of the month! If i didn't I'm sorry to whoever did lol.. Maybe put on that border a tiny notch of white or black? So like -jan color- white notch- Feb color- white notch- etc
Edit- you could also just use a diff color for each month and two whites on the ends bc you have 10 colors i think.... 10 plus two neutrals on the ends or just a diff color within the blanket.
Why don’t you use a cute tassel to divide the months?
I know I feels like just yesterday it was 2020 like where did the time go
At the start it looked like a baby wrapped in the blanket hahahaha
Maybe July will be cherry red
On your temperature blanket what website do you use to get the average temperatures?
Would you be will to measure the length of you blanket and then tell us how many stitches you have within 2 inches and we can figure out how many stitches accross the blanket is without you having to count every stitch.
Really if you lived in LA you would be using cherry red and coral every day in the summer
First I love your channel ❤️ 💕 ♥️ 💛 💗 💖
Nine hours ago Bruhh my bday is coming up soon next month you should separate your month by using the lowest temperature
Won't a 365 row pillow be huge????

could u please like actually measure it not just say "this is what it looks like on the bed" finland doesn't have "queen sized" beds we measure our beds in meters
A queen sized bed is 60 inches by 80 inches. Or 152.4 centimeters by 203.2 centimeters. Or 1.524 meters by 2.032 meters. Then there’s the added drape but that’s optional and individual to you.
