  • Driving a 1989 Ford Mustang in the 24 Hours of Lemons race at Road Atlanta chasing what I understand is a Camaro with a Cadillac body mounted on it (only at lemons). He was so much faster on the straightaway which made things difficult until I pressured him into a small mistake in turn 1 and capitalized.
    This was the final stint of the weekend and the track had begun to dry out. We managed to overcome some incidents on the rainy Saturday which put us back to 38th at one point to finish 11th of 95 cars that started. During this stint I was able to run the 4th fastest lap of the race as well which we were happy with.

      @@Mattekken101 Guessing they had a bunch of BS laps, it was a good 50HP over the Mustang.

    Good job! Whenever I see him in the rearview mirror, I just let him go by. Of course, we are class B, though.

    Awesome battle. Way to be patient! You were faster in that turn every lap and he went in too hot and you hit your mark and capitalized on the mistake. It sounded like you were really putting the pedal down to try and get away once you got by and got lucky with the slower car holding him up.

    I got worn out just watching! What really like about Lemons in racing for few min against a similar powered an handing car, but not too long since do not work out enough between races.

      It's the stock motor from the foxbody. Nothing really done to it at all.

    Sweet! Why is your steering so twitchy? I don't have to work that hard in my Fox....

      @nathansaxonracing  5 років тому +3

      No power steering, wide tires, and an inexperienced driver who had a tendency to saw at the wheel. Something I've been working on quite a bit.
