I mounted a couple panels on the roof of my electric scooter that keeps the battery topped off, and it's great to have free electric power 😊

that trailer would be perfect if it just had even cheap suspension like pet trailers do

But, can you charge from solar while riding!?

You might be able to rig the panels onto the top of the trailer though I doubt it would be very safe

You have a 940 watt battery, and 100 watt panel. The means 9.4 hours to charge under ideal laboratory conditions. Which will never exist in real life. You will get 1/2 to 3/4 of that in real life. So lets be generous and say 3/4. So now we are up to 12.5 hours of charge time. But the panel is only 19.4v and the battery is 48v (and that is nominal). That means the charger has to be a boost charger to increase the voltage. The conversions losses are easily 20-30%, maybe more. Lets be generous and say 20%. So now our charge time is 15 hours. In the summer, in the lower latitudes a "solar day" is about 5.5 hours. So now we are at nearly 3 days (being VERY generous) to charge the battery. And we are not accounting for any use during that time. This is all down time calculations. And don't forget cloudy days will completely destroy charge time. So the panel is not worth the space it occupies. Unless... you have a couple of weeks between rides to charge.
