    I’m glad to hear the 2.3t does sound bad from the inside. Definitely looking into getting one.

    Currently shopping new vehicles for my wife and drove an Explorer ST and an Explorer Platinum yesterday for the first time. What I noticed, (ON BOTH UNITS), on the interior is LOTS of join lines and seams that are very poorly aligned. Also, the dash, across the top was wavy and the leather seats appeared to be worn and "stretched" a bit? The leather was wavy, a bit like the dash, as if it wasn't stretched tightly enough to get a good fit when the seat was assembled. Something I wouldn't expect unless a vehicle was a bit older and had seen everyday use for a year or so. Also, Ford, like many other manufacturers is slapping a tablet on the dash to display the nav, radio, non-button adjustment options, etc. They have aligned it vertically, rather than horizontally, mimicking a smart phone maybe? I must say that I am not a fan of this trend. Now, with this different alignment of the tablet, I feel like Ford just cheaped out on the dash design. Audi, GM, Dodge, Range Rover, Cadillac, Volvo and many others have opted to integrate the screen and I, for one, feel it provides a much better look and feel to the interior. I was hoping for more from this model refresh. These are $60,000 vehicles!? Swing and a miss for me.

      I have the 2021 Limited and I will tell you this has been one of the best vehicles I have bought. I have had about 30 cars and I test drove all of the competition, the 2020 Toyota Highlander, the Kia Telluride and the 2022 Acura MDX. The Ford does have a cheap interior, but the radio, the GPS and all the guages all work very well and much better than the Kia Telluride and Highlander and MDX. The Ford is also much more powerful. The Kia Telluride feels underpowered and is not as efficient on the regular country roads. Out in the interstate the AWD 2.3L Ford MPG drops to 23 just the Kia Telluride AWD SX does. The Ford is being discounted by about $6500 from MSRP, the Kia Telluride usually has around $1500 to $3000 ADDED to MSRP making it more expensive than the ford. The Ford also has the most comfortable seats in my opinion. Rear 3 rd legroom is still good in the ford as well. The Kia's front end just looks old and outdated to me, but the interior to the Kia is definitely better than the Ford quality wise. The Ford has the best center console storage space and the wireless charger actually charges your phone, unlike the Toyota Highlander. The Ford is an awesome vehicle despite some uneven gaps in the layout of the interior.

    I like the explorer but youre behind that 4runner and next to that jeep srt8, it looks like you sit much lower than those. That’s kinda disappointing, I thought the seating position would be at least as high up as a grand cherokee.

      Did a test drive today 4 runner is slow as hell...14mpg no way a dinosaur... there's no comparison with explorer... different categories

      The Cherokee’s are pieces of shit and the 4Runner’s are 10 year old tech.

    Ford needs to raise hight clearance not drop it almost as low as a car, heck my 2019 kia sorento is lower but longer then my sister 2011 kia sorento

    I noticed the odometer/Speedometer has only the miles numbers, are they all like that? some cars have both miles and km. is that an option I can request?

    • @NothinButCarReviews
      @NothinButCarReviews  3 роки тому

      Pretty sure you can switch to metric, but not sure if it’ll show both simultaneously.

    • @TB-zc9jg
      @TB-zc9jg Рік тому

      There is a menu option to show both. The kilometers show up on the bottom right of the screen.

    4 cylinders for this size suv - you’ve got to be kidding me!!! What the fuck is Ford thinking?!

    • @robm2749
      @robm2749 11 місяців тому +3

      I thought the same thing but it turns out that not only does the 4 cylinder produce 300hp it also makes about 310 lb-ft of torque. That's a bit more than a lot of v-6 engines in many current day SUV's and it's more fuel efficient.

      The 20/21 models are hideous. Why did they change it I wonder. The 17 and 18 were beautiful and simple.

    Is there an option for a bench second row, rather than 2 captain seats?

    • @NothinButCarReviews
      @NothinButCarReviews  3 роки тому

      Yes, you can get a bench, but depending on trim level, I think it might be an up charge.

      Don't know bout up charge but very few 2nd bench rows barely 7 seater but could be 50/50 between 6 and 7 seaters
