  • Today I want to show you our reaction to the famous Misal Pav, a dish that is a original in Maharashtra and is just delicious. It is eaten for breakfast mostly, but you can also have it for lunch or for dinner. We did like all kinds of Indian food so far, will this be part of the list for us? Let's find out.

It has great significance on the History. A fort that was never conquered and how a Brilliant King Chatrapati Shivaji have built it.... he was the one who stood between the Country becoming a Muslim region. How he over threw the mighty Mughals who were almost 5 times stronger and had been ruling for 150 years is worth an Info to hv in world history. And that fort right there had a significant role..... It is still a work of sheer class and secrete how they carried so many huge Stones through the wild unstable sea waters.

Has someone already mentioned this to you - the pav in pav bhaji and other such foods is from Portuguese “”pao” for bread. And has the same root as the French word for bread, “pain.”
Moonshine - Marathi and Hindi both use the same Devnagiri script. So it’s not surprising you’re not able to distinguish between them from just the script.

The bread with lentil soup/curry look delicious. In Malaysia, samosa is called curry puff, some Malaysian eat with onions too, but pickled onions. When you ask the locals to get info on the food (in this case misal pav), hope you will show in the video in future. It would be interesting to see your interaction with the locals.

That Sindhudurg fort has a great historical significance. Maharashtra has more than 300 forts. Most of them built by the Maratha king Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He and his next 2 generations ended the Islamic rule in India. He is one of the most respected kings all over India. In Ratnagiri you will find another fort called Ratnadurga Fort.
Both Misal and Vadapav are authentic Maharashtrian food. Vadapav is staple food in Mumbai and Misal is in Pune. As you rightly said taste and ingredients of Misal are different in all parts of Maharashtra. Konkan is famous for its seafood and Mangoes.
The houses are similar in Goa and Konkan mainly due to very heavy rainfall during Monsoon. The roofs are specifically designed to avoid waterlogging on top of the house and protect from leakage
