I'm so glad you didn't do an unboxing video but I am very glad you chose biohome as the media to use. Interesting to use a fine pad right in the bottom but if it works then groovy. The modern versions of the eheim circular filters like you have are a really good filter and not badly priced either. Tank is looking great.
Thanks ! I was thinking about using coarse medium and fine but it's so compact and the fine pad that comes with it is so fine it kind of made sense to just reuse it, and more space for media ! Another reason putting the pad at the bottom was to maximise that basket with media in it. Question for you ... Have you seen or used the ocean hydra filters ?
+FishPie I haven't used that but I've looked into them then forgot about it. Seems interesting but I couldn't find any independent reviews to convince me to investigate further.
They make dual ikea units now, so you buy 2 and push them together giving you a thickness of about 75mm of vertical particle board bearing the central weight of 300kg, it sat for 25 weeks bearing the 300kg before putting the aquarium on. Can confirm ikea furniture will easily hold an aquarium. Especially if you push 2 kallax together. I think that's how they do houses in Sweden. They just push 2 kallax together and bury that bad boy as a foundation.
+Richard Aldridge thanks Richard , I think the shadows and lighting could use some work ! I was thinking of re doing this video one day because it seems people are interested in the filter but my camera skills need improving
Great vid mate! have been thinking of getting an external for my tank, fed up of all the crud that drains back out into the tank when I remove my internal for maintenance. Also been wanting to try out Biohome ultimate too since watching Pondguru's vids, how much of the ultimate media can you cram into the 130 out of interest? thanks again and keep up the great vids 😊
They're so worth it, with the corys there's hardly anything each week to syphon off the sand. I've got about 1kg in there , if you do the mod with the filter pads and put it in a bag you can get most of it in ! Thanks for the nice comment 😊

I'd hang that plug over the edge of the bath so you don't get water in it. Good vid tho and nice tank.

+FishPie "hardly anything to syphon" that has just sold it to me right there! cheers mate 😊
Your Shadow is covering all the filter
Yea it was pretty terrible filmography there, I am going to film another filter review and this time try better !
how is your filter running, any issues
I've had it a year now, and still runs great. I replace the filter floss in it once a month and works perfect
Can you adjust the flow on this fillter?
Yea you can use the outlet valve as a flow adjust
@@FishPieTV You should always use the "out" valve to reduce the flow, NEVER the "in", as you can wreck your filter motor.
Mircea Paraschivoiu very good point , I really need to re do this upload it’s terrible !
Is it silent?
Yea really quiet
@@FishPieTV Super silent.
@@FishPieTV Why mine isn't? Just installed a new one but it's very loud.. What could be wrong?
@@studiounyk7918 give it a shake and get the air bubbles out
Next time don't put your head between the object you're filming and the light. I'm sure that is why there is 21 dislikes.
I know the lighting is terrible 🤦♂️
