It's OK to pull overt - Have you ever showed up to a section of twisties just to be slowed down to a crawl by a bunch of rude selfish drivers who can't find it in their black little dead hearts to pull the FAK over for a dang second and let folks go past. I mean I could have violated the lot, I guess, and pass on double yellow but was not in the mood. Harriman Park and the whole Bear Mountain and 7 lake area is pretty wack and small anyway. Cute lakes but all the roads are a bumpy mess. Go north, its better.

Wow! I never knew there was anything this beautiful only an hour outside of NYC. What a beautiful ride...except for the cagers.

Lots of beutiful stuff just outside of the metropolis. Even the cagers were fine here, i was just tired and had a bad attitude :)

in my experience only worth hitting bear mtn area if you go early, like right after sunrise. have some fun on the empty roads and then go find somewhere to have a nice breakfast/brunch while you watch everyone else just start to show up

I agree 100%. Thats exactly what I do when Bear Mountain is my mission. I bring my little coffee maker and sit by one of the lakes. In this case I was on my way home from the Catskills and just so happens to blast through the area. Should have stayed on the highway if I was not ready to deal w THIS :)

What I do, when I have a nice road in front of me and traffic is in the way: stop somewhere and wait until u think the street in front is clear or the next car behind comes up. This way you can at least enjoy some of the corners without having to overtake unreasonably

Usually same. In this case i have been riding for hours and hours from upstate and just wanted to get home. My own fault for going local

    Senior drivers are the worst.

There are some quick seniors out there, you'd be surprised. I dont think its about age - its about enjoying driving vs just using it to get around.

Was just driving on Kanawuake Road back in September with a rented Porsche 911 Carrera from Turo. Great driving roads in Harriman State Park!

omg i tried going a couple weeks ago when it was that like last 75 degree day... and it was impossible to get around, there was 3! cars that ran out of gas waiting in traffic in the twists and it was fuckin miserable... next time try arden valley road.. that road is insane and always is clear for us. careful though some of those turns are insane lol

Oh I've done every road in this area and I'm pretty much done with the region. The only reason I passed through was by accident as I was making my way home from the catskills in a new way.
