- India challenged the hegemony of five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, asking how long will the will of the five members override the collective will of 188 member states. “This must change,” said Ruchira Kamboj, India’s permanent representative at the United Nations while calling for UNSC reforms. This comes after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India would get the permanent seat at UNSC, but not easily. Tesla boss Elon Musk recently said that India not having a permanent seat at the UNSC was “absurd”.

India, unfortunately has a lot of SEA countries that don't want it on the SC and ofc Pakistan and India will not permit it because it would massively weaken their positions.
The issue with the SC is that its expansion is undesirable, and, taking it away would lead to massive issues with superblocks (Religious superblocks probably) fighting it out. . .

The solution seems simple and straight forward but things are not so simple to deal with. These big 5 run the world basically, it'll either create a huge war or the countries that are not very strong in terms of armed forces and finances will perish very quickly. As an Indian proud of the current govt. stance on UN reforms. I want to go a step further dont have permanent members. UN can a elected representative council where members are elected by other countries. The maximum continuous tenure for an elected country must be limited to 5 years.

India and Brazil should set a deadline, say not more than two years, for their inclusion as Permanent Members in the Security Council of UN. After that the two countries along with like minded nations should exit from a biased and highly skewed UN and form a parallel organisation.
You do realize that the US supports India's inclusion in the UNSC? This has already been agreed upon between US and Indian governments (not sure about Brazil, but I'm sure US would support it, we are allies with Brazil), the only one stopping this is China.
