Been waiting for this one! You're right, no welding on snow plows down here. I need to get a lawn sign. Another awesome repair!
Good farm welding on the snow plow.
Heard the shout out from Captain Kleeman and came to join your party"🥳
I honestly feel like some of the worst and most difficult projects are the dumpy, rusty, nasty, crappy projects that people bring you and expect an exorcism. For what you were given, and for the tools and equipment you currently have, I’d say you did great!
Not sure if it was intentional or not?, but I think the timing of the snow plow exorcism video right before Halloween was genius!
🎃 😂👍🏻
I seem to always get the rusty junk lol
well done. great fab work
Let's go!!! 👨🏾🏭💰🇨🇦
When the boss used to ask us " How rusty is it ? " The termites are holding hands to keep this thing together 😂😂
Good job young fella! I would have shit canned that plow, but u keep it interesting ! 63 year old Jersey rat myself, learned to weld as a pipe welders helper way back in the 80,s worked at Johanna farms,Welsh farms,Readington farms, kinda in your hood.U improvise, get it done, thats rare, hats off to ya !
Readington farms is not to far from me
I like that threaded dog idea. I’m gonna build a couple. I usually do that with wedges to push shit into place
You may want to watch Jimbo's Garage and Cutting Edge Engineering videos. Both of these people have an immense amount of knowledge.
I watch them both. Am I not knowledgeable?
@@mcfwelding lol. I didn't mean to imply anything. My apologies. I would not watch your channel if I didn't think you had something to the table as it were. One again sorry to imply you were not knowledgeable.
All good only busting your chops. Thanks for tuning in 👍
Best part of the video: The breakfast!😋🤣
Taylor ham ,egg! oh yeah !
Hey. I was watching captain Kleemans video. Came over to check your videos out. Great job.
Awesome! Thank you!
Me too
I just found your channel, I also just got my fist welder! I like the videos very informative!
thank you
What thickness metal did you use to patch the whole top area of the plow? Also do you think it could be done with a flux welder?
i used 1/8" material and yes i actually would have rather done this job with flux core wire. flux core would have been much easier to run on this thin rusty stuf
Have you tried those medium stones they are 1/16” thick really great for marking out stuff they really don’t need to be sharpened I buy a box of 120 at a time and have a nice little brass holder for it that fits in my shirt pocket great those and the silver pencils are my favorite for layout
Wish you where close to me nice work
Nice work getting that old hog fixed up. Always surprised by what people will pay to get fixed. Probably will get him by for a few more years till it gets holes else where. Like you said it actually needs a whole new skin but that isn't cost effective for a cheap plow.
6011 works pretty good on rusty stuff. How do I know. I have a farm. I guess working on a plow this bad is good practice for less damaged stuff.
yea stick would have been good also. the mig is twice as fast though so i went with that
On that crack at the back of the boat I would have started welding on the inside at the bottom of the crack and proceeded uphill to the flat and then across that
In all welding situations I tend to try to start welding where the least amount of heat is required and finish welding where the most heat is needed...that way your not getting your butt kicked by the temperature increase of the base metal as you work
Good to know, thanks for the advise NBS
Oh yeah, he broke out tha torch! I need to learn how to use one of those.
Cutting torch will be useful for your mobile work. I would think about investing in one once you can for sure
@@mcfwelding I want one so bad!
where do you get your caps at?? that miller lite one is dope lol
i Have used Doogies caps for a while and SOCO hats
Not bad
where do you get those high grit sanding wheels?
ordered them from benchmark abrasives
That plow looked like the next piece on the scrap pile🎃
I agree but ill take the $$
Absolutely
So what did it cost to do that patch job? I'd of convinced him to locate another blade, and I'd swap them out or reskin blade sheet steel isn't too expensive
That was talked about but he said if he bought a new blade he would swap it all out himself. So I wouldn't have got any work from him if he did that.
Great video, considering I was wondering how you make a bend like that without a metal press. So, did you charge him the $350 day rate plus 3 hours and material? Just trying to see how you negotiate your price. Because if you got around $600 for that job, the guy would have been smarter to just get a whole newer blade on market place or eBay, etc. Just an fyi the bottom piece he was missing completely is called a wear bar. I've had to replace mine twice in the last 16 years. Nice work though once again!
600 was the price and I did mention to him about a new plow but he wanted to pay to have this one fixed
CAD: Cardboard Aided Design.
The only thing Worth saving is the hitch frame . That Entire backplate needs to be replaced! Cheaper to make a New plow.
Gotta love the cheap customers 🤓
Not sure I entirely understand the pacing forwards and backwards.
Not either?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 😻😻😻😻😻😻 💯💯 👋👋 👋👋
