The girl I dated in high school loved Godzilla so much. Her grandfather played a lead role in the original Godzilla as a scientist. She got me hooked on Godzilla and I absolutely love that the legacy will go on forever in film.

And I 've already seen Godzilla minus one twice. and you guys reaction made me feel like going to see again.
I just watched this movie today and I think it deserves some awards. The music, the CGI, the ACTING. Wow, what a human story. While I can nitpick on a couple things in the movie. It simply was incredible. I am SO GLAD that it was released in the US and I went to see it in the theater. This is by far my FAVORITE Godzilla movie ever! I'm still excited about it!

This is the first movie I've wanted to see in-theater since 2014, when I watched *that* Godzilla movie. This looks incredible, and it's the Godzilla I've always preferred: no friends of humanity, no ancient god nonsense, no 'alpha leader' crap, just a monster just a big-ass monster that came into existence and made it everyone else's problem
Movie takes place in 1947. Not only is Japan's economy at zero.. they have almost no government, the military is mostly scrapped, they've been devastated by World War 2 (not just Hiroshima and Nagasaki... many cities including Tokyo had it worse with constant firebombings).. and because of Japan's actions in WW2, no country is going to help them. The lead character is a kamikaze pilot who shamed and dishonored his family by chickening out. And it was FANTASTIC! The Godzilla movie I have been waiting for over 40 years to see!!!
I watched it with my lady on theater last weekend. This film got me emotional in a way I was not expecting...it ressonated with me, it stirred some questions that I was just letting be for a while! Amazing film!
When you guys thought Godzilla was done, and then his spikes started glowing blue to prepare for his atomic breathe, that was lit💥! Amazing reaction!!!!

Is it just me, or is it that, every now and again Japan sends us a Godzilla movie to show us how it's done? I mean, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed King of the Monsters and all, and Godzilla vs. Kong was a fun ride, but from what I'm seeing in this trailer, the western Godzilla is a fire breathing dragon with an attitude. The Japanese Godzilla is a super livid, ultra-pissed off, world-destroying rage monster, with the breath of an exploding star. Guess which one I want to see. hehehehehe
Western Godzis are pretty ok, not more. One exception: Gareth Edward's Godzilla from 2014 knocked it out of the park for me. I really enjoyed Shin Godzilla and loved the Evolving-part of it a lot. I am totally hyped for this one.
Long time Godzilla fan here, to me as long as Godzilla is Godzilla, whether it be hero or destroyer, I'll watch it. Personally, I'm thrilled to see Toho taking him back to his roots as a wrathful destroyer punishing us for our reckless arrogance. Especially after both the animes missed the mark.

I just saw this in IMAX and now I realize that Japan made the best Godzilla movie ever, but made the BEST movie I have seen in almost 10 years. 10 out of 10 for me. Hollywood just got exposed for cookie cutter cash grab movies with feminist man hating and race politics . Marvel and DC should be especially embarrassed. This is taking Godzilla back to his roots....as a HUGE fan of the very first film (not the americanized version...though I own that to hehe) this movie looks to take him back to what he was originally portrayed as a devastating monster, a natural disaster that could walk on land. This movie has got me absolutely HYPED. The 1st can't come quick enough.

Do yourselves a favor... Watch the original Godzilla from 1954... Look past the cheesy special effects. This is a remake/reimagining of the original. It was a straight up horror movie in it's day, and one of the best movies to ever come out of Japan.
