I was next to a lorry on the M62 yesterday stuck in a jam, it had the steel cords showing on its front tyre. Yours looks like new compared to that 😉 keep going with great videos chaps.
Ok, always good to watch as usual, but at 9:33 , and I hate to say it, but safety goggles don't work so well on top of your dads head, and those individual wire brush cup wires break all the time - Safety first please ! I've had those broken wires sticking out of my face when working with those on my car many years ago, so now I always wear a good full face shield for extra protection - and sometimes with goggles too.
Extra load especially on the front Jon makes a world of difference not only to the ride but also the life of the tyres ,provided of course that your not going for the ditchfinder option.
Rear suspension bushings! Mine squeaked where yours did,it was the rear shock bushings. On the front, change the discs, pads, track rod ends, ball joints, they dont cost much, and drop links too,all these are easy jobs, they normally start giving play,at 40,000 miles plus. You can get discs for £40 a pair
When testing the bottom ball joint on my Doblo, I used to put the wheel on the ground and a bar to see of the bottom arm moved down. Quite a common problem on the Doblo.
we'll know soon, but I've heard rumbling caused at the front getting in the cabin at the back, I guess it travels through the chassis beams, and especially in one volume cars like this the noise appears to come from the back
I always get squealing brakes and my mechanic is telling I need to brake harder, but it's not my style. Also, I don't want to launch Toby my dog every time I brake 😂
I also have a terrible intermittent squealing & droning noise coming from the near side front on my car, but the strange thing is that it disappears when the wife isnt sitting in the passenger seat 😀😀
@@JonCoupland I wonder if new tyres will clear the noise? We had an escort van at work which produced all sorts of rumbles under braking until it had new tyres! I guess the sidewalls and bracing get weak when near end of use time.
I notice that your father does that whistling tunelessly under his breath in the same way that mine did. Do the younger generation of mechanics (sorry, technicians) do the same?
No way would you replace those discs and pads… they are perfectly fine after a bit of attention. People just dump perfectly serviceable stuff these days because it’s relatively cheap to get budget new parts. £70 for two new tyres ? Seriously ?
I will have to buy myself a Fiat van they seem to be much better screwed together than the Fiat 500s ? As you would not believe what happened to me Jon ? My handbrake cable snapped , garage wanted £200 to replace 1 cable total jokers lol so luckily a friend recommended a mobile mechanic and i i got it sorted with an OEM part for £80 but yeah once i get it through an MOT it will be sold as the 500 has been the most unreliable car ever , the only good part of it is the interior and the 1.2 engine , anyway Your dad need to be turned into an Android so future generations can learn from him , Hes like Gandalf the Grey the wisest one in the land the Car Wizard
@@JonCoupland Yeah Its a shame a lot of mechanics nowadays seem to be cowboys or scammers , especially where i live near London it is very hard to find a trustworthy garage to repair my car , The Mot is due in 2 months time so am expecting another few hundred in repairs lol , Problem is where i live is not really safe anymore to use public transport so am reliant on my car , anyway i hope your weekend is going well Jon , cheers.
I have worked on all types of brakes and to see someone smear a thick layer of useless waste of time copperslip on the back of the pad is very disapointing it dont do nowt ????????
I'm pleased to see the Copaslip King is alive and well.
Got shares in the stuff

Blimey! Thank you for watching
Well done both a great job as usual and looks like that the issue is solved! Hope you are all keeping well Daniel
Thanks 👍

Don't try this at home folks. You are right! Bad habits ... And you don't know or think about often until it's too late

I have failed you - 2 new ditchfinders

Great job lads
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks

We will give it a go
Hope it gets fixed and ready but I have no problem worrying with these 2
Many thanks
I remember from my parents' Doblò the front suspension was a bit on the weak side. It felt a bit under dimensioned for the car.
Interesting!

Still not found it sadly

Yeah it's an unusual thing forcing yourself to brake harder 😁
😊😊👍👍❤❤

As I was reading I thought that might be the punchline 🤦♂️
35 quid apiece for tyres seems very reasonable indeed!
My apologies! I made a mistake. They were £70 each!
Where did you source the tyres from for such s good price?
Black Circles
Next time around discs will be needed
Yup 👍
surprising, to see a that bad maintained car in the coupland fleet -looking on the right front tyre.. 😂
My van gets an absolute hammering and is sadly often forgotten about 🤦♂️👍

He does. Always has, always will ... It's always the same rotation of tunes too 🤣
Hope you found the problem now
Still looking 😭

Sorry that should have been £70 each
@@JonCoupland Relieved to hear it ! You'd be down to the canvas in 10,000 miles at that price....
Blimey I passed my test in 72 ??

If it dont do nowt I wouldn't worry about us using so much ☺️ - we have shares in the stuff
