That’s great it sounds like you figured out which camera is best for you and that was the purpose of this video because everybody has their preference. maybe your next cam can be a full frame
Ditto. I have my Fujifilm xs10 for photos and occasional video and it’s beautiful I absolutely love it. The Sony z v 1 is perfect for small carriage and delivers superb video for my purposes. X
I actually use both. The E10 is my main UA-cam camera and the ZV-1 is my top down camera. Hopefully this year I will replace the ZV-1 with another E10 and then use the ZV-1 for running around my studio shooting b-roll shots. I also use the ZV-1 as my travel point and shoot. I used it for all of my NAB videos this year. I love that I don't need to carry a lens with me.
@@thefilmalliance @ranger7Studios Really would have liked to know the answer to this. I was thinking about this exact type of set up. Knowing what you know, would you just go two ZV-E10's?
I use ZV-1 as my second camera for travel and also when I need to quickly make a video. My main camera is α7R III. I don't hate VZ-1, nor do I love it. Out of so many options, it is "currently" the most convenient due to its small body. Because I am being spoiled by the sharpness of GM lenses, the photos from ZV-1 are when I needed to capture something quickly or utilise the 24mm focal length. Besides, the video quality is way better than that of GoPro. The only thing I think is not "right" is the on/off button, should have used a directional switch (like that on ZV-E10 or alpha body). When I broke the button during a holiday in France (and requires a repair for €300), I have the choice of switching to ZV-E10. But I decided to get a new ZV-1 as ZV-E10 has a problem of its own (jello effect for one) and it is only an APS-C body, might as well just go for A6600. Other than the switch, one other thing I really really hope that Sony can update in the next iteration is 4K 60 fps (120 fps would be so much cooler).
I personally own both Camera's. I prefer to carry around the ZV-E10 though because it's more versatile as a point and shoot. Especially in lower light.
For me the zv1 is like a camera that doesn't allow me to think about buying lenses and make my wallet cry 😜 However, I love my Zve10 especilly with the Tamron 17-70 F2.8. I m taking great photos and enjoying going outside with this combo. I posted some of them on Instagram and they look amazing there even after instagram compression.
That’s awesome I forgot about the Tamron 17 to 70 F2.8. I got a look into picking up that lens. Thanks for sharing some of your experiences with this camera and lens
I originally got the ZV1 for "run and gun" family stuff to capture the family moments, but quickly realized it's tailored for video, less for photo. Also low light performance on the ZV1 is quite mediocre, specially for indoor shots. That's why I switched to the ZV E10. Got it open box + an used Sigma 30 1.4 for 700$ - that was an amazing deal for me :D Planning to make a video about this little photo and video beast to dive back into YT again :) Great video, as always!
Adding dry ice to water makes the water acidic via carbonic acid creation. This can be lethal to flora and fauna down stream, particularly to creatures in larval stages. Skin breathing and gilled creatures are also readily killed by small changes in pH. Combined with the drop in temperature, the micro-life in the direct area would have been worst affected.
Trying to decide! I want the convenience of having the ZV-1 in my pocket but want the quality of the ZVE10. I already have an A7iv but don't want to carry it around in run and gun filming situations. Thanks for this video - you made some great comparisons!

Do you have/would you make a comparison with these cameras and something like the FDR-AX43A? They cost about $1000 USD and I wonder if would be a good addition to my growing camera collection.
I like my ZV1 but I want a better zoom. I don't like the crop on the E10 for vlogging, like you mentioned it's closer to your face. I hope they come out with a ZV2 or something 😅
I like the ZV-E10 better because... that's the one I have 😂 more seriously I bought it as a second 'small' camera and it's eventually not that small at the end, depending what add... talking about adding, any view on the Tamron 17-70mm 2.8? I read good thing about it but I think it's quite big/heavy... of course you can't have it all but 17-70 f2.8 seems pretty versatile...

That’s awesome. I’m happy to hear you say you upgraded because I agree going from the CV one to CV 10 is an upgrade especially for video creators. Did you get any specific lenses? Or just the kit lens?
@@thefilmalliance sigma 56mm and sigma 16mm both are giving excellent results. I must say the decision was wise. There is alot of difference for a camera with external lens options vs the one without having any options. Thanka for the guidance :)
Getting a ZV E10 tomorrow got it for a good black friday price :) Thanks to yours and @MarkBennetCameraCrisis excellent videos made me take that decision as it will be sort of my one and only camera. Therefore i think the e10 is a better choice for me to grow in, both for video and photography. Once again thanks for good and understandable explanations 👍

If you had a client that wanted some pictures of the interior of their house what would be the best option? Thanks for the video it put everything in to perspective
I’m totally between the E10 or the ZV1. Currently I have a6000 with the Kit Lens, 50mm and 35mm. But I want a vlogging cam for my small business. I do UA-cam Tutorials for my products and want to use 2 cameras. One for recording me and one focusing on my products. Actually I like the size and the “always” ready feeling of the zv1, but since I have all the e mount Lens it feels I should buy the e10… Can someone enlighten me please 😖
I have a quiz on my website Thefilmalliance.com to help you decide on what camera is best for you. But to answer your question, the ZVE10 is better for video.
Great video. Subscribed...I currently own the zv1f. i use it as my main podcast camera. I'm super happy that in 1080p 30fps it records one continuous file. So now i want two more to get rid of my sony 405s. I was of course just going to get one zv and one zve10..cuz that covers everything..I thought to my self "those cameras have to be able to record one continuous file like the zv1f does". Well now im not so sure. I need all three camera angles to be one continuous file to easy the post edit mulit cam syncing process. But i heard the zve10 records video in that segmented fat32 style. Im so sorry this question was long..but, you seem to very much be an expert. Can the zv1 and zve10 record 1080p in one continuous beautiful hd file like the zv1f. if not I'm just going to buy 2 more zv1fs. thanks.
@thefilmalliance i also think thatd be a good video as I do see a lot of people have those 2 as their options. I did go with the e10 and im so excited to learn how to use it thanks for all your hardwork and information on your channel! Wish you the best💪
The 1080p performance on the E10 is very poor. I find the 1080 almost ‘out of focus’ looking. Maybe a low bitrate? So for anyone wanting to shoot in 1080 60p or 30p, this is really not a good option. It is only really a 4k 24p or 30p camera. That can make a difference for some not wanting to edit in 4k or using HD TV to watch videos. The only choice for TV is to video in 4k and render at 1080 which limits your frame rate to 24 or 30, which is a pity for such a nice camera.
Hey Ian, brilliant analysis. Have you ever tried shooting in 1080 120 P? I found that the Quality is much better probably because The MBS increases to 100. So the trade-off would be more memory on the SD card but still I think I would go with 120 over 60 purely for that reason
I’ll try that!! Never thought that the bitrate would be different for fast shutter. Then deliver in 60 with 120 shutter!!! Brilliant. I love these get around …. That one might be its saviour for 1080p users ….
It works!! Just took some test footage at 120 fps at 1/125 sec and edited on 60 fps timeline. Exported at 60 and it looks great!! Terrific workaround. I can see what is happening now. At 60p the picture is at a lower bit rate and CROPPED! At 120p the picture isn’t cropped and uses the full frame, so is sharper.
At 1080, ZV-1 is significantly better. This one is great for 4k 30p and 1080 120p, but I can’t get on with normal 1080. It crops in compared to 4k and looks soft.
Confused by your last reply. Is the ZV1 1080p sharper at 120fps, or the E10, or both? The soft 1080p is my biggest turn-off with the E10, which is hard to understand when 4K is so great, and 1080p is exactly half the resolution (so logic says it should be able to do FHD sharp video)?
hi, i have a6000, sony 16-50mm, canon 50mm f.18, and sony 18-105mm f.4. But im looking for a vlogging camera. Im thinking of selling my a6000 and go for the ZV e10. Do you think I should buy the ZV-1 and keep the a6000 instead? I NEED HELP! :))))
Hey there, that is a hard situation. I actually made a video about it. ua-cam.com/video/c0AH8isltUY/v-deo.html It should help you decide. Please let me know what you decide.
Do you think the nd filter on the zv1 will be enough or getting the zv e10 with an nd filter will be much better especially for shooting subjects with sunny highlights in order to get the most of the highlights? Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for a stabilized camera. I have a Sony a6400 which has no stabilization and I was thinking of replacing the a6400 with the ZV-e10. These two cameras have the same parameters, but when I watch videos from the ZV-E10 on YT, I see a very big difference in image quality. I do not know what could be the reason, but the image from the ZV-E10 is so not sharp that it makes me vomit. Do any of you have the same observations or is it UA-cam's fault?
In a confusion whether to go with zv1 or ev10 , I prefer photography(portrait and camera for vacation) and vlogging 🙂 can you kindly please suggest one ! Sorry, i forgot to say ,hi 😁 - a new follower From India 😇
Thank you sir, welcome to the family. The Zve10 has better quality, but the Zv1 is super easy to travel with because it is lightweight and small. What EXACTLY would you be shooting? Like landscapes? Or just yourself?
I used the RODE wireless mic and also the LAV mic that they sell. You can't cheap out on the LAV mic because a cheap LAV mic will make your sound, sound off. What are you using it for? Vlogging?
@@thefilmalliance right now it's product reviews/Unboxing with a couple of how to videos. Looking to start a 2nd channel for baking. Just picked up the rode video go 2.
Gotta say well since you started with vlogging , I can’t recall you using a selfie stick with either.. considering the crop factor wouldn’t a little extra length than arms length, give that wide angle frame your looking for , not to mention an opinion on weight/ balance of both on a stick? Still unknown factors to us that haven’t had one in hand yet 🤔 .. as I do concur with your conclusions on both kinda sounds like your selling the zv1 short , despite the sensors , then what was all them vids for seeking out a cinematic look out of the zv1 can’t speak for others but that was some of the appeal to the alliance seeing what the little engine that thinks it can, can do! 😁 🤦♂️ have to stop now before this turns into a full blown thesis 🤷♂️😝 …. ✌️🤙

I like my ZV1 but I want a better zoom. I don't like the crop on the E10 for vlogging, like you mentioned it's closer to your face. I hope they come out with a ZV2 or something 😅
Yes absolutely. That would be great.
Is the zve10 a good upgrade for zv1?
Which one is good for using as a webcam and photography
Great video and shots of both!! Im glad I am keeping my zv1 :D
Hey Patricia, I’m happy that you weren’t more confused. Great job on knowing which camera is right for your personal preference
Which is better for indoor green screen setup?
still consufed about buy zv1 or zve10, actually iam a beginner, i want use to vlogging and practice photography.
BUT
i prefer zv e10 cz it can change lens, maybe i wont change my camera for 5-10 years, so i can change the lens for upgrade.
but i somepeople say that vlogging experience with zv1 was better than zve10 so im confused
Here are two links on two videos with photography. One is with the ZV1 and one is with the Zve10. Hopefully you can decide which one would be better for photography from there. ua-cam.com/video/ZArG3Lsj6ks/v-deo.html

@@thefilmalliance thank you sir
Can you make a upgrade video? Like if you have the zv1 what would be a good upgrade, if you have that one, what would be the next.
great video as always, subscribed
Thank you ! crisp and clear ❤
I upgraded from zv1 to zve10. Its the best and far better
Thank you for this Video! It helped me to find the right camera! I'll take the ZV1.
Thank you, I am glad you are getting value from my videos. That is great. Please tell me what you think about it when you get it.
Just got my zv1, thanks for sharing
That’s awesome, have you watched the cinematic settings video I did? That should help with setting up your camera
@@thefilmalliance Yes sir, I've watched the video and now I'm still learning. Nice setting for the ZV1.
By the way, I've subs with notifications 🔔🔔👍👍
Good comparison video. What it the boom mic stand you are using at timestamp 3:16?
If you were to get one for filming outdoor sports ( snowboarding ) which one would you get?
Getting a ZV E10 tomorrow got it for a good black friday price :) Thanks to yours and @MarkBennetCameraCrisis excellent videos made me take that decision as it will be sort of my one and only camera. Therefore i think the e10 is a better choice for me to grow in, both for video and photography. Once again thanks for good and understandable explanations 👍
Thats awesome that you got the Zve10. Great choice. Please let me know what you think about it so far. Also, it will definitely help you to grow in video and photography. Thank you for this comment.
Mmmm Im upgrading my a5000 and now I am unsure. I do both photos and videos on the go.
Have you footage of zv1 i can watch?
Which do you recommend for podcasts with 2 or more people in the group
I got both😁
Canon g7xmark 3 or sony zv10?🙏🏼
If you had a client that wanted some pictures of the interior of their house what would be the best option?
Thanks for the video it put everything in to perspective
I would go with the Zv1. The zv1 is a better overall camera and would give you better quality pictures.
@@thefilmalliance thank you for the fast response 🤙🏿🤙🏿💪🏿
Great video but is there a sony zv2 coming anytime soon?
That’s a great question I don’t know. Do you know what the rumors are?
@@thefilmalliance Sony rumours sites are saying a new ZV camera will possibly be announced on 12th October 🧐
@@TRISTRAMY Thank you for the update!
What's a good gimbal you were using for zv1?
I’m totally between the E10 or the ZV1.
Currently I have a6000 with the Kit Lens, 50mm and 35mm.
But I want a vlogging cam for my small business. I do UA-cam Tutorials for my products and want to use 2 cameras. One for recording me and one focusing on my products. Actually I like the size and the “always” ready feeling of the zv1, but since I have all the e mount Lens it feels I should buy the e10…
Can someone enlighten me please 😖
Every camera and lens has its specific use, what are you using it for?
For cooking 🍳 videos which one is better ?
Honestly I'm not sure. I have never shot a cooking video before. Is it like vlogging? I may be able to help you from there.
Which one better for video
I have a quiz on my website Thefilmalliance.com to help you decide on what camera is best for you. But to answer your question, the ZVE10 is better for video.
They have discontinued the production of zve10 though?
Your channel is great.. could you please have a comparison zv1 vs rx100 vii ?
That's a great idea. I will have to rent the Canon though because I don't have one. Thank you for the suggestion. Do you have both of these cameras?
@@thefilmalliance but rx100vii is the previous sony 1 inch sensor before zv1. Not canon!
I want to know what gimbal you used on 5he zv1 hobbyist shot
Can the zv1 and zve10 record 1080p in one continuous beautiful hd file like the zv1f.
if not I'm just going to buy 2 more zv1fs. thanks.
There's a lot to be said for a camera that's as tiny and unobtrusive as possible!
What is the attachment that you are using for the panning on your tripod?
Great video!
If i bought the zv-e10 and i don’t think that i am going to buy another lens is that ok ? Like is the original lens is good
Thank you for your clear comparison
No problem, glad it was clear. Do you have either of these cameras?
Id rather choose sony zv1
Hey brother what do you think about zv 1 ii vs the zv e10?
Good quesh, I'll have to do that review. I'd say ZVe10 if you have the budget
Does rig /cage from Zv e10 matches with zv-1?
though this topic is not the best it is a zillion times better than the topic comparing ultra wide lenses
Please give me a list of topics you would like for me to make videos about!
Hello guys .i am looking a camera for cinematic video b roll and a roll vloging..i don't need photos ..please suggest me which one i need to buy....
The ZV-E10 because it has an APSC sensor.
thanks for great tips. 😍😍
It’s my pleasure which one do you have?
@@thefilmalliance Zv-1
hi, i have a6000, sony 16-50mm, canon 50mm f.18, and sony 18-105mm f.4. But im looking for a vlogging camera. Im thinking of selling my a6000 and go for the ZV e10. Do you think I should buy the ZV-1 and keep the a6000 instead? I NEED HELP! :))))
Hey there, that is a hard situation. I actually made a video about it. ua-cam.com/video/c0AH8isltUY/v-deo.html
It should help you decide. Please let me know what you decide.
@@thefilmalliance mine is a6000 not a6400 😢
Do you think the nd filter on the zv1 will be enough or getting the zv e10 with an nd filter will be much better especially for shooting subjects with sunny highlights in order to get the most of the highlights?
Thanks in advance.
I have the zv1, and the nd filter is not doing it for me.......
Can I put an ND filter on Ulanzi WL1 without vignetting?
I'm looking for a stabilized camera. I have a Sony a6400 which has no stabilization and I was thinking of replacing the a6400 with the ZV-e10. These two cameras have the same parameters, but when I watch videos from the ZV-E10 on YT, I see a very big difference in image quality. I do not know what could be the reason, but the image from the ZV-E10 is so not sharp that it makes me vomit. Do any of you have the same observations or is it UA-cam's fault?
I am not sure, it might possibly be UA-cams fault. It might not be uploading correctly. The clips and very clear before they are uploaded.
In a confusion whether to go with zv1 or ev10 ,
I prefer photography(portrait and camera for vacation) and vlogging 🙂 can you kindly please suggest one !
Sorry, i forgot to say ,hi 😁

Thank you sir, welcome to the family. The Zve10 has better quality, but the Zv1 is super easy to travel with because it is lightweight and small. What EXACTLY would you be shooting? Like landscapes? Or just yourself?
Great video! Thanks for sharing your good points and showing good examples.
Yes, of course. Thanks for the encouragement.
What mic was used for the intro in the forest?
I used the RODE wireless mic and also the LAV mic that they sell. You can't cheap out on the LAV mic because a cheap LAV mic will make your sound, sound off. What are you using it for? Vlogging?
@@thefilmalliance right now it's product reviews/Unboxing with a couple of how to videos. Looking to start a 2nd channel for baking.
Just picked up the rode video go 2.
Hows Zv1 m2 for concerts?
Casually kills a local ecosystem by shoveling dry ice for a few shit photos lol
You'll live. Go hug a tree 🌳
7:05 Lol why's the camera shown over a hospital bed?
It was sick, but now fully recovered haha
I hear ya, you’re right if I just carried a selfie stick that would give me that extra distance that I need in order to not feel like I’m getting smashed into the lens. maybe I’m selling the ZV one short but I know how good of a camera the ZVE 10 is. For some reason I feel like this ever eaten is an edge better than ZV-1
Hi everyone, is there a slow motion 960 fps mode on the zv-e10?
only in zv1 and rx100 series.
Don't put dry ice in natural waters there are small organisms who get affected by such things
Can i shoot a wedding with the zv e10 ?
Yes! What lens?
The Sony zv 1...I have it useless for vlogging...if anyone wants one buy mines for half price
