SPEEDLINE OVER HOUSE, Drone, Chainsaws = Super fun Cedar tree removal
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 лис 2019
- This was a super fun Western red Cedar tree removal job. We set up a speed line to rig down all the branches over the house to save energy and time. We then blocked down the upper two thirds of the main trunk, and finally felled the bottom 25-30 foot of main trunk.
This job ran super smoothly with great, clear communication, understanding of the job and a great rigging setup.
We are stoked to have captured this entire job using a drone and 4 GoPro cameras.

The drone shots make it much easier to understand your technique, they add perspective and flair.
Great job Dan ...nice to see you working hard and knocking back that nasty lyme disease ... keep em comin
Thanks bro, I appreciate the kind words
Huge props to the drone pilot and video editor. SUPASMOOTH! Cinematic
This is insanely cool. Amazing video man. Wow.
Thanks for the comment Keith, we really appreciate your kind words
This truly was a very enjoyable video. Relaxing, and educational all at once!
Thanks dude, we appreciate the awesome comment!!
Good to see you have a handle on the limes disease. It’s great to see you back in the swing of things
Thank you bro, I really appreciate you kind words, it's a great feeling when people like yourself give these kind of comments after seeing or hearing about the Lyme issue. Thank you
@@ClimbingArborist would it make a precautionary vid Dan? Wasn't aware you'd been bitten, get well quick dude...👊
@@turtlezed I'm not speaking for Climbing Aborist, but my wife was bitten and diagnosed about 30yrs ago when they knew even less. Precautions are check for ticks everyday, any weird rashes (the typical bullseye doesn't always happen), if you start to feel sluggish, brain not working right, or a sore joint that comes and goes or moves (like your left ankle is sore, then goes away, then right knee) get tested. The earlier you catch it, the better off you are. Treatment is just antibiotics (usually doxycyclin) but make sure you take the full course and if the Doc is smart, it will be longer than the CDC (in the US) recommends. The little buggers are hard to kill, vulnerable for a short time in their lifecycle. Even after treatment you can have symptoms for a long time, usually you just feel sluggish/slow. Common sense for anyone in the industry would probably be get tested once a year. Symptoms start to show up a couple weeks after getting bitten, most first tests are inconclusive so you can go a month or two before testing positive. Smart docs will start treatment on a "possible" instead of waiting for a positive. It's not a fun thing to catch: if treated early and strongly, you minimize any after effects, if you ignore it, you can have severe problems. @Climbing Arborist: take care of yourself, don't over do it. Sorry if this was long and sounding "know it all".
Great job. Sweet editing for the vid. Your health seemingly has improved- I am glad for that. Thanks for sharing your and your crews skills.
Thanks dude, I really do appreciate you comments on both the video and on my health, I'm currently doing well managing my health which means I can get back to doing what I love.
Thoroughly enjoyed that whole video!
Thanks a lot brotha
Another great video . You are a true professional. I have been in the tree industry for 17 years. I have seen a lot of hacks and a lot of professionals. I have learned so much about all the new gear and newer techniques of climbing and rigging by watching alot of your videos. It is men of integrity such as your self that make me proud to be a arborist. Stay safe and keep up the phenomenal lwork .
Thank you so much for you kind words, that really means a lot. Climb safe bro...
Great video Dan, I wish all tree jobs were like that. Been grubbing around with a big hawthorn hedge in the pissing rain for 2 days😩
🤣 Hawthorn, the worst, that feeling when the thorn pierced the skin
You rock dude! You totally rock! I bought climbing gear. Love your tips. Been up 60' in a 120' tree, trimming branches and all. Did it with spikes and safely, thanks to you. Thanks to you there's one less thing on my bucket list.
Another splendid episode guys !!!
Thanks bro, , I really appreciate your comment.
Those were some big chunks you were tossing down. Nice job!!!
Love when they keep the wood!!! Especially rounds that size!
It's the best, I always ask now because in our area a lot of people want the wood or their neighbours do.
awesome job props to your groundsman he most definitely make that job a cake walk for you guys
Well done. Good presentation and demonstration. You are a professional. Dan
Thanks Joseph, I really appreciate your comment.
I am glad you said, fun two days... work should be fun.
This job is a lot of fun, a lot of the time
Thank you for all the great videos. I am interested in becoming a climbing arborist and all your videos are very inspiring and helpful. Please keep up the great work!
like it bro" just be nice if chippers there" cos then be spot on" love ya vids for few years n podcasts thanx"
If we had a second grounds man we would have had the chipper there, but with only one on the ground we needed to keep the job flowing so couldn’t chip until the end
Awesome video! Really shows how you can turn a 4 hour grind into two days of very easy tree work. Seems like a more enjoyable way to do business really.
Great job
Great skills
Can’t wait to go back tomorrow to work an practice some of the techniques
I’ve learned from watching
Thanks dude, appreciate your comment. Never stop learning... 👍
Dan that was a well done job. Your experience real shows through in every cut.
Thank you 🙏
Great work fellas! I look forward to all of your vids, keep them coming!
Thanks dude, really appreciate your kind words
Beauty job Dan. 👍🏼🇨🇦
Thanks bro, really appreciate your kind words
Great video and edit. I don’t normally care for music in arborist videos but this was very tastefully done. Cheers.
Appreciate your comment, I’m not a huge fan of just music on tree videos, I like to try and tell a story with the communication of the team. But music seemed a good fit for some parts without much talking. I have another video to release soon that will have music but I’m struggling to find the right piece to fit
Climbing Arborist it’s tough to find something that fits considering UA-cam copyright policy. I’m now having my brother produce the music in my videos. Fiver is also a good option. It’s custom so you can get just what you want.
Great job !!!!!!!
Great Video!
Gorgeous tree...Those are the worst to take down. Great job and footage! Slow day today, going to make a knee ascender like you suggested with spare parts
Send me some pics, email or social media if you make the ascender, I love seeing them
I sent some to the climbing arborist Facebook, works awesome!! Thanks!
What a view you have up top. Beats a cubicle any day. Thanks for sharing.
It is a great view, we are very lucky
Nice job 🙂👍
Great job guys, thanks for sharing 👍
Great video! Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks! I really appreciate your comments😁
Slick as always both in the work place and with your videos. quite a difference from your early posts! loving the multi angles and drone footage.
Cheers Tom, really appreciate the kind words🤙
Sweet Job... Looking Good ....Great Vid...Cheers
Well done gentlemen!
Clean system🤙
Fine job, Dan. Enjoyed watching, as always.
Thanks bro, appreciate the nice comments
Job done well 👍 I love dismantles, it is fun when there’s a good landing zone. Love the vids, need more vids like this, couldnt fault anything, specially with safety.
Thanks for the kind comments dude 🤙
We are constantly striving to be safer, especially as other new arborist May watch and pick things up from the video, we don’t want it on our conscience that we may have promoted bad work practices
I know some instructors that are very impressed with your working practice and their the kind that are hard to please when it comes to safety so I wouldn’t worry about passing on bad practice. Your making a good impression in the uk amongst the community. I learn tons from your vids. I never had a mentor when I first started climbing about 6 years ago so your vids are a massive help for the little details that are not really cover when going through college. Your a real asset to the arb industry. Thanks 👍
Awesome job
Muy buen trabajo amigo Grasias por compartirnos todo lo q sabe Dios me lo cuide
Love your videos Dan! This one was a great one again 😊
Thanks bro, this is my favourite one I've created so far, hopefully more to come like this
Excellent job AND video editing! A joy to watch!
Thank you 👍
Thanks for this great video👌
It’s our pleasure, thanks for watching and commenting
Clear cedar is worth a fortune here in NY. Love the zip line system.
To clear cedar or cedar it's self?
Super! Great tree job. Nice video and editing. Great tree skills. Smooth. You make a big hard impossible job look easy. I hope other arborists take note of the safety and safety precautions. Thank you.
Thanks dude, appreciate your comment. 👍 We are always striving to be as safe as possible, promote those same safe work practices and have a good plan to make the job run smoothly.
Excellent, superb skills on display. Have the same electric Husky, awesome saw that keeps on going.
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. The battery Husqy saw is the bomb, I use that thing almost everyday
Badass!
Great video and great job 👍 noticed you stacked the firewood with the wood to the ground on the big rounds. If firewood is going to sit for any period of time it should be stacked bark to the ground. When stacked wood to ground they act like a sponge and constantly draw moisture from the ground.
Thanks dude, appreciate your comment. 👍
All the wood was being moved in the coming days, neighbours were taking it.
@@ClimbingArborist Stay safe brother 👊
@@noglobe4105 You too...
Good job man! I hope I don’t have to do that many snap cuts anytime soon. Ugh.
great work...love the drone footage 👍👍👍👊
Cheers bro, drones make everything on film look awesome
Great work. Made it look easy👍
Thanks, that is a huge compliment, if you make anything look easy that isn't, you are doing something right
Best tree video ever!GISSA JOB!😁👍subscribed!😁👍
Real nice work Dan! I could smell the cedar when you were chunking it down!
You and me both! Thanks!
Great vid Dan what a view

Great job mate...Love the 536 to 550. My 540 rarely gets used anymore. Keep up the good worm👍👍🍻

Very good 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 😍
Beauty!
Thanks bro, really appreciate your kind words
Great job:)
Nice clean work, Dan. Hope your business is going well
Hey Reg, cheers mate, that was a really fun job for both mark (groundsman) and I. Business is going great, carving my own little niche here in Van. How’s business over the water? Were you at the TCI? I didn’t see you ...
I'm French lumberjack !! Congratulations good job' !! 👌👏

Thanks mate
Ground man was Jonny on the spot. Job well done 👍
He is the man 👍
@earthly firefly5 🤔 Laying down the law of Deez Nutz!
Did a similar set up my last day working in the summer. Worked pretty well :)
Nice
Great work! Really fun to watch. Super smart to attach the slings out on the end of the limbs. Seems like it kind of acted as a tag line when they broke free.
Thanks dude, appreciate your comment. 👍 Yeah that is exactly what it does, it's a great technique when you need to pull the branches round in a certain direction to avoid the getting stuck etc...
brilliant video production, great video... and... holy smokes, balls of steel on ya there boss. helluva job!!
Thanks for the kind comments dude 🤙
Perfect weather, healthy, straight Red Cedar......🤔...... balls of steel left at home on top of dresser - only needed the aluminum ones today...🙄

Thanks Shawn, you're very thoughtful, luckily I'm managing it ...
Great edit. The back and gorth between the drone helmet and land cameras is great. BTW the electric saw took a few minutes to get used to. Lol.

You too bro!
Good job bro
Thanks for the kind comments dude 🤙
tempting to also speedline the top, but better not. Well done
Watching this on my lunch break :)
Love the content, great footage awesome video thanks for sharing
My employer and me were just wondering whether you guys had a control in place in case the rope slips out from the ground man's hands ?
You should do a video about how you sharpen your blades because if you made a battery powered saw last that long you must have a pretty damn sharp blade . Sharper the better.
Really great work. Have a small tree business. I need to find myself a crew like that
The crew you work with or employ, is the most important part of running a great tree business in my book
Great vid. Thanks for all your content. This channel has helped me improve quite a lot. Im curious about your life line set up when your chunking down the trunk. Is is covored in another video? I havent learned how to tie myself in incase my flipline and spurs fail.
In this video I'm tied off to the trunk with a running bowline, I then just move this down with each cut, and it cinches against the trunk so if I slip i won't slide down the trunk
Nice work and video 👏 Did you set up all the ropes from the ground or did you climb up once before starting to cut branches?
