    Just grab yourself a piece of cardboard and super glue a bunch of pieces to it in the pattern you like. The pieces stay flat and secure and then hang up the cardboard with 4 pins on ever corner.

    Not gonna lie
    I wish I saw your video sooner because I had two mental breakdowns in a row from sticking an entire pack of blu tac to my walls for an hour
    to hopelessly try and keep those damn panels up on day 1, and THEN I spent an hour and a HALF doing the same with DOUBLE SIDED TAPE, OF WHICH I USED AN ENTIRE 20 METERS TO NO AVAIL AND NOW I NEED TO SCRAPE ALL THAT CRAP OFF ARGHHHH

    Best way I have found yet!! Thank you. I used the stick strips and 50% fell off the wall. Frustrating.

    Much more helpful than adhesive. Glue from tape or spray messes up the walls. The holes left are insignificant and easy to fill if. Much better option. Ty

    Mind the material your wall is made of. For drywall, this is a good solution. For brick or, like in my case, solid concrete, this won't work.

    Thanks for the video! Did you do anything to make sure the tiles were exactly even (parallel to the floor and ceiling?). Also, I have watched some videos where they said it is better to have some space between the wall and the acoustic tile (someone taped paper plates to the backs to create some space). Any thoughts on that?

    on a hot day they will droop away from the wall unless you pin the corners.

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  2 роки тому +2

      Maybe you’re correct. But I installed my acoustic tiles right at the beginning on summer upstairs where it gets hot inside the house. My tiles haven’t dropped at all. They are as flat as they were when I made this video. More pins in the corners could help if there’s a drooping problem. High humidity may cause them to droop but I haven’t experienced this myself since. Thanks for watching!

  • @RayInTheCity
    @RayInTheCity 2 роки тому +5

    yeah but then you have thirty thousand holes in the wall ?

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  2 роки тому +4

      There will be a bunch of holes if you have a lot of acoustic tile to hang… and if you use more than one pin for each one. But the pins are really thin so you probably won’t notice them when it comes time to take it out. Plus if your room gets painted the holes will fill in with paint. But there are other methods of hanging acoustic tile you can try! Thanks for watching!

  • @inordicone

    Only works for drywall. Try hitting those pins against solid walls I'm telling you you'll enjoy repeatedly smashing your fingers and bending all of your pins.

      @@TheRenderQ Thanks for the reply...I just had those pins in my last place and yeah they did the job but now I'm in my own place and all my efforts will be forever. That said...I still want to do what's the most forgiving to my walls for that "Just in case" moment. I have now seen a few vids that use the double faced tape on painters tape and I like that best for damage control. Will be testing today.

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  2 роки тому +2

      Yes! I am putting holes in the wall! I guess I was referring to other methods where glue and large panels are installed first before attaching the acoustic panels. When I remove these panels there are literally only pin holes left which are practically unnoticeable if you’re not looking for them. This was just my easy solution for hanging acoustic tile!

  • @cosmicchaos9232
    @cosmicchaos9232 2 роки тому +1

    I was using the double sided sticky tapes and I gave up after a day, so glad I found this method omg. I don't care for how destroyed my wall looks (I have the paint to repain the wall with ease so I'm fine) but I didn't want to use ahesive glue in the off chance I wanted to move the foam. so this pin method is amazing.
    in hindsight, I shouldn't have done it at 10pm, because I ended up worrying my neighbours but they were chill with it.

  • @ErinLillis
    @ErinLillis 2 роки тому +1

    Mine didn't last long with nails and pins. The foam quickly swallowed the pins and fell off the wall.

    I'm an online teacher and my neighbors are loud. Would this block my students from hearing the noise from my neighbor?

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  Рік тому

      No, these acoustic panels will not block out noise from outside the room. The acoustic panels are used to eliminate noise from reflecting off the walls to eliminate echo in the room. That way when using a mic hopefully it will reduce/eliminate the echo resulting in a better recording. I’m not an expert but to eliminate outdoor sounds you’d need an isolated room with sound proof walls. Thanks for watching!

    What happens if the sharpie gets on the foam??

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  10 місяців тому

      On the light gray foam you will see a Sharpie mark on the foam if the marker touches it. Actually probably don’t need to use the Sharpie because I think the pins won’t be noticeable because they’re so small.

    • @TheRenderQ
      @TheRenderQ  2 роки тому +1

      Hey! Sorry I didn’t mention that this method only works on drywall/wall board. If you have concrete walls you’ll probably need double sided tape or other adhesive method. But that will probably leave marks on the wall when you remove them. At this point I don’t have any solutions for concrete walls. Sorry about that!
