Annie : Crystallised herself to keep the secret
Reiner : Yo Eren, funny story ! Guess what ?
LOL I never thought about that 😂😂😂 poor Annie
Lmao 😂😂😂
Well, her secret was more than just information about the nature of her comrades.
Especially funny if you consider it's really just a few days later too.
In fact, I believe that at this point Reiner and Bertholdt don't even know Annie's identity has been revealed yet.
@@sharky1213 is the following day. Eren was fighting Annie during the day, they spend the night fighting the Titans that appeared inside the wall Rose, now is dawn. Yeah, they didn't know Annie was revealed, when that happened they were in the room (first episode of season 2).
Watching reactions to 2x6 never gets old
Everyone always has the same "wait what?" reaction to the reveal and I love it
i never thought plot twists can be this good when reveal like this casually
Sony's reaction is one of the best i've seen, "Sudden? Yeah no sht" it's awesome 🤣
if feels like i’m reliving it with them
comment thats always in 2x6 xD
"...We demolished the wall"
Sonny: ⁉️⁉️⁉️
Kat: 👁️👄👁️
Bertholtd: O____________________O
🤣
😂After all they suffered to not let it slip.
Reiner: 5 years ago we demolished the wall...
Sonny: What
Kat: What
Berthold: W h a t
The reaction everyone been waiting for
And the comment
Right? Hahaha finally!
YEAHHH BABY!!
I’m Spanish , isn’t correct “everyone have been waiting for”?
@@angulomanairalucasmatias5896 "Everyone has" is grammatically correct.
Isayama' style is undeniable. This shocking reveal was build up with a multitude of Easter eggs and clues spread up from the start. If you re-watch the show from the beginning 'til this episode, everything is coming to place like a perfect game of chess.
trueeeee. and what's suprising more is he was 23 when he started this show
Perfect game eh?
@@jordansaum7710 what a amazing catch with the perfect game comment
@@jordansaum7710 *vietnam war flashback*
Isayama has in fact been goated.
The biggest hints for a first-watcher to be able to guess Reiner being the Armored before it gets revealed are the hair and when in S1E23 "Smile" Annie says she failed to become a warrior and then, 2 episodes ago, in S2E4 "Soldier", when Connie asks Bertolt if Reiner always been like this, he answer with "No... In the past he used to be more of a warrior".
They may feel like just synonims at first, but its quite obvious that these titan shifters call/consider themselves "warriors", instead of "soldiers".
adding on last episode when ymir was tearing the tower down it was shown that bertholt was about to vite his hand
You could suspect Reiner since ep 17 with all the female titan shit, it becomes clear in s2 ep4 if you already suspect him and pay enough attention
There’s hints since the beginning of the show, pretty much every scene he’s in has a double meaning.
Even the first ending song showed it
Reiner also did ask Berthoult "Could the wall have been broken?", S2 episode 1.
I never grow tired of this episode. It's pacing, dialogue, music (youseebiggirl is such a highlight of the composer's history), the voice actors (I have a particular fondness for Reiner's voice actor: Yoshimasa Hosoya) and the payoff of all the clues/foreshadowing. IT'S JUST SO GOOD.
It's one of my favorite episodes of "Attack on Titan" and TV in general. It's right up there with "Breaking Bad" imo. "Ozymandias", "Felina", "Face Off", and "Crawl Space" are some of the best episodes of TV that are right alongside this episode.
Well said, most people dismiss anime or Voice acting is general but imo Yuki Kaji's breakdown in S2 E12 is as briliant as say Bryan Cranston's final scene in Crawl Space.
@@the_crypter thank you! That final scene in crawl space gets me teary eye.. every. single. time. It comes out of the emotion that one feels when they see art at its finest form.
I'm a huge fan of hosaya yoshimasa too!! And it started with this episode!
Completely agree. I wholeheartedly believe episodes like this and a couple of episodes in season 3 and 4 are up there as some of the best moments in TV so far. Aot is one of those special animes that transcend the medium and can appeal to people who don't normally watch it
berthold screaming / drowning in his own blood gives me chills everytime, even though he's caused so much pain and destruction you still feel bad for the guy fighting to breath and at the same time you know he being hurt means he is very probably going to transform and everything will go downhill from there, god such a beautiful scene
It’s insane that he could even transform when he’s in that state, considering Eren and Reiner troubles at other times.
If you look at it closely, Mikasa b a r e l y missed his throat, like an inch to his right and his throat would be sliced
@@MarikitKaNa Bertholtd was always one of the best warriors, he just wasn't sure of himself until season 3
@@toamszkozak8822 yes, bright shining boy full of potential
This was a great reveal for everyone watching the show, and it was handled so nonchalantly that you can even miss the moment, which is itself a stroke of genius.
If you rewatch S1 & S2, there are so many clues hidden about their identities that it's amazing the secret was kept for so long. Among them (and by no means a complete list):
(S1 Spoilers:)
1. When the cadets introduce themselves in S1E3, everyone names the town they're from, including Connie, Sasha, Hannah, Armin, etc. But Reiner and Bertholdt only ever say that they are 'from some small village in the south-east'.
2. When Eren is talking about the Colossal Titan, Bertholdt is shown in the same scene, and when he talks about the Armored Titan, Reiner is shown.
3. When Bertholdt tells the story of how 'Titans overran their village', the first establishing shot shows that it is still dark out, but in the very next scene, the Titans are staring in the window in broad daylight, showing that there are inconsistencies in his story. The idea that Titans would be moving before sunrise also contradicts many times in the show we are told they are powered by sunlight.
4. When Annie says she has no interest in playing 'Soldier', Reiner says that that attitude is unbecoming of a 'Warrior' (some subs miss this subtle translation difference, though)
5. After Armin's plan to recapture the supply room in the Battle for Trost, Reiner remarks how it was fortunate that Annie wasn't injured. The trio can also be seen together on rooftops discussing their plans (presumably for the attack on Trost), although the viewer was not given enough context at the time to figure this out.
6. When Eren transforms to block the cannonball in S1E9, Reiner is the first to zipline up to watch, followed by Annie and Bertholdt.
7. Reiner and Bertholdt both wanted to join the Military Police, but switch to the Scouts the moment Eren's Titan is revealed.
8. In the 57th Expedition, Reiner, Jean and Armin all mention where they were told Eren was, and the Female Titan came from the direction Reiner was given.
9. When Reiner attacks the Female Titan, he deliberately takes off his hood so she would know who he was when he approached her. This, despite Armin's admonitions for everyone to keep their faces hidden just prior. Reiner's head can also be seen steaming after she tries to crush it, although it is ambiguous whether that was just her blood evaporating, or his Titan healing factor.
10. When Ymir finds the can of herring, Reiner knows what 'herring' is, despite herring being a saltwater fish, and no one in the walls having even heard of the ocean.
11. When Ymir's Titan jumps up to the tower to rescue them, Bertholdt can be seen readying himself to bite his hand.
AOT really rewards re-watching, as there is a _ton_ of foreshadowing for events yet to come (and still are). It's a real shame that production between S1 and S2 was delayed for 4 years, because they are much more potent when events are fresh in memory.
Reiner trying to distract Connie from the titan that looks like his mom was what gave it away to me on my first watch
It seemed too forced that he wasn't curious at all
@@shariqali9656 Its funny you mention the village because I didn't notice that when I first watched it, but on a second watching I couldn't understand how I missed that.
Also when they were in the castle's tower and when it was about to go down, Berthold wanted to transform in order to escape (he was about to bite his hand just before Ymir told everyone to climb on her).
They also straight-up show Bertholdt's transformation flash early in S1 when the battle for Trost happens. The Colossal seemingly appears absolutely out of nowhere, but if you've seen S02E06 and go back and watch, the flash is unmistakeable.
I would also like to add that in the first season, during the battle of Trost and the escape from the supply room, we see Eren's titan being eaten by other titans. When Mikasa says that they should help it, since that unknown titan could be helpful for humanity and Jean retorts saying that's a bad idea, Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt are seen together agreeing with Mikasa. Having read the manga, this show is amazing to rewatch with knowledge of what happens. You'll see the bips and bops you missed along da wei. My proverbial hat is off for Isayama.
Eren crying and internally yelling "...YOU DAMN TRAITORS." The goosebumps were intensifying to the point of me shaking (head in hands).
Goosebumps and I say, let’s go Erin!!!! every time
QUICK NOTE - The break we were talking about in the video was a while back, so the reactions will continue as usual here on the channel. Just wanted to make that clear in case of any confusion.
Hope u guys caught what bertholdt was about to do last episode when the tower collapsed.
Hope you guys wear some AoT merch during reactions! 😁
I was genuinely feeling betrayed myself after this episode because I loved Reiner so much
Thats why you have watch 6&7 together. lol
fun fact, in the first season after armin, jean, and reiner face the female titan the 3 are left with one horse between them. armin decides to stay behind while jean and reiner ride ahead. before they were gonna leave, though armin wanted reiner to deliver an important message to erwin and erwin alone.
historia luckily shows up at that exact moment but its heavily implied that armin was gonna tell reiner of all people who he suspected to be the female titan.
Armin would've been killed if he told Reiner 🤣
@@egomana9329 Reiner: *Yo armin got a second? *
Take your gear off for me 😂
@@egomana9329 those kinda a potential spoiler though, lol
5:12 i never noticed this but Mikasa is reminding Sasha to not talk about it.
Yeah me neither, even after watching it a lottatimes
Armin looked mad stressed too at4:51 hahhaah
"everybody is holding their breath" literally everyone did & I still got the chills from that scene and the coldness now too XD
I was waiting for this moment to see your reaction, now how do I wait for next week's reaction? 😫 Love you guys, take care 💜
The day I watched your reaction on Eren's supposed death, I immediately thought about this scene and here we are
Same and other eps too that I want to see their reaction to it so bad 🙈
What did we know.... We were just children....
One of the greatest reveals in any fictional story ever.
120-123 is a little better.
I see you in every Aot
Attack On Titan S2E06 Reaction
Everyone: Ah shit here we go again
yep, we are all here for the "WAIT" reaction :)
Not sure why I keep ending back to every single reaction lmao
With reveals in general, people usually expect it to be huge. Tension filled. Like Annie's. But this one was just so casual. Out of the blue. It was so unexpected. And at the same time, heavily foreshadowed. And that's what makes it so great.
The biggest clue/connection is the connection between when Annie confessed that she was a failed “warrior” and when Bertholdt said Reiner used to be a “warrior”. There’s just so much going on you don’t realize it as it’s happening.
Sonny almost looked like he was about to tear up. Man the emotions this story puts in you is amazing. Great reaction guys as always
Youve got to be so switched on to see the hints in this show, nearly everyone misses them.
It's not that you miss them, you just don't put them together correctly. When I first saw it, I questioned how Reiner escaped Annie's grasp but I thought it was similar to what she did with Armin, she let him escape because she knew him. In any case, the storyteller puts the hints there more to justify twists than to have people guess the twist. Without any hints, having this reveal would have felt cheap. Same with Sixth Sense.
@@Artificial-Insanity They also have Mikasa do they same cut out of the hand move later. Even knowing she is superb, it could throw off suspicions by seeing that other's can do it.
If you look at Berthold when Ymir jumped on the tower in the previous ep, you'll see that he was ready to bite his hand to transform himself at that moment cause he didn't know she'll save them.
literally the origins of “Top 5 Anime Betrayal” lol
Sasha was almost going to spoil the fun.
Thank you Mikasa for stopping her.
Are you talking about 5:13 ? What was Sasha about to say?
"Does that mean that Reiner and Bertoto are Titans too?"
@@Skitz0frenix ohhhh good call did not catch that
Ooooh I've never noticed that. Fantastic catch.
@@Skitz0frenix I think she was going to ask "does that mean she is working with Reiner and Bertholdt" or instead of Reiner and Bertholdt she might have included Annie or referred to them by their titans, whatever she was going to say, it might have tipped Reiner and Bertholdt off so Mikasa stopped her to remind her that they are suppose to stay quiet about that stuff till they confine Reiner and Bertholdt underground.
This scene gets even better after watching it the 73rd time!
At least thats what I heard..
*73rd
it does get EVERYONE on this part :D Even Berthold was shocked. I had to rewatch that scene like 4 times to understand WTF is going on.
BTW, Song at the end is called YouSeeBIGGIRL and it's Gorgeous. Notes singer pulls is just fascinating. One of the reason's why i Watch stuff and not Read.
yeah but books are, most of the times, a hundred times better, mangas and comics too, to the point that most of the times, the story is ruined and changed a lot in tv shows or movies, but this is not the case for attack on titan, so u re good with this one haha
@@gonzalovisconti4953 personally i am not into reading. My sister is, and she tried to reccomend me books, and i tried, and i was like "this is one of the most boring stuff i can imagine" i find lot's of pointless information i consider "filler episode". So yeah, for everyone, their own i guess. But since i don't read, i can't compare. At least i don't ruin it for myself if i didn't read it lol
@@rinkairiozuki7245 hahaahah its fine, reading its not everyone's thing. Tho i was just poniting out that the stories are better in their original source, like game of thrones books are waay more epic, and the story is way different from the one in that fucking show, which is wrong from the beggining not only the last season, the books are glory it self, and in anime, for example, tokyo ghoul, the only good thing from the anime is the opening song hahahaha, the manga its a complet different story with waaay more battles and character development, the same goes for song of ice and fire, which is Got's books saga, there are waay more battles and stuff in there that changes the story 360 degrees hahah and makes it way better too.
@@gonzalovisconti4953 that's what many people say. What i think is "if you read - don't watch. If you watch don't read" it's not only you spoil the story, but you also set expectation. If i would read AoT manga, i am sure i would not enjoy it right now. When i read Komi-san manga, and then i watched Anime, i did not enjoy Anime as much. Anyway, GOT s8 was a complete disaster.
@@rinkairiozuki7245 i totally agree with everything u just said, thats why i wont watch the new precuel season of Got lmao 😂, i tend to choose which stuff i am willing to buy and read and which one not and will only be movies or series , cos i like to watch too
It's crazy to think Reiner Annie and Bert were the same age as Eren Mikasa and Armin when they destroyed the wall 💔
A pretty cool detail/easter egg from the previous episode: Berthold is about to bite his own hand when the tower collapses, in order to transform.
Cheers from a Dane!
I saw this video ping on my list and stopped what I was doing - love the reaction
now this is where it all starts
In one of the first episodes, when they are in bootcamp, when they talked about the Armored titan the camera focused on Reiner and when they mentioned the Colossal they focused on Berthold
"What's gonna happen? It's way too quiet right now." Perfect. I see your sense of this show has become keenly tuned.
I know it seems annoying not being able to watch the next episode for a while but in a way, that's actually better than watching them all in one go. It gives you more time to think about it and that's part of the fun.
True 😂 i skip watching reaction in next episode 😂. I will watch again at episode 9-10 😂
one of the best OST you will ever hear in your life time
5:12 Did Mikasa stop Sasha from saying anything because she was about to ask if Reiner and Bertoto were titans too? XD
That processing part🥵😂
I love how this series is even more interesting watching it a second time knowing the full story
First off, awesome video and I love your reaction videos. Second, your post episode discussions and theory crafting are amazing and definitely worth sticking around to watch them. Cheers.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite reaction channels. Love the amount of time devoted to discussion/ predictions after the reaction.
The brilliant use of silence, followed by an epic reveal of betrayal and godly music - this scene is a masterpiece!
edit: Where was Erwin and Levi? Levi was standing there with Hange squad and all, leaning against the wall out of his uniform. Remember a previous episode where Levi was giving parting words to Armin, Mikasa, and Eren? He specifically advised Eren to control his emotions. I'm guessing this advice was given after they all spoke about Reiner and Bertholdt.
You are doing a great job ... guys don't stop we are already addicted to you two ....love ya pj
Very surprised with your analysis as always, you guys always come up with very interesting theories (Not confirming or denying them)
Top tier reaction channel 👌 glad I found it!
This episode still gives me chills, Reiner turning into the titan, the music, just a masterpiece, and I started watching this anime like last week
I envy people who see it for the first time.
we finally got to 2x06 - one of the top 5 episodes in the entire series for me! that reveal was so shocking to me when i first watched it back in 2017 and it's just as amazing as back then. keep up the amazing reactions and discussions. you're one of the best, if not the best of all the ones i've seen react to attack on titan and i've seen a lot. love that!!
Reiner was broken mentally, the damage from the duality (the lying) finally got through. and the boy snapped
One of the great things about this story is the huge amount of clues throughout it that go right over your head without the specific context needed to understand what's going on making the rewatch amazingly special.
Just want to commend you guys for including as much of the soundtrack during the reveal scenes in the youtube version of your reaction. One of the most powerful scores produced for an anime in my opinion.
One of - if not THE - best OST I’ve ever heard in any scene of TV or film. It gives me chills no matter how many times I watch that scene
Wait w, what .....WHAT?? Man these reaction never get old xD.
2x6 when they stand there with the crackling lightning and the music.. fuck man, thats the money shot. Its one of the best in the entire show.
in S1 when Eren was talking about how his town was destroyed when they were eating, he said armored titan and the camera actually zoomed in on Reiner at the same time, you never notice it first time but it was one of the hidden gems
funniest identity revealing i've ever seen
Love the reaction and discussion, so good.
Awsome recation as always, damn , u have no idea how it was like waiting for this ep to see your reaction guys ! Hahhahq
Reiner : Hey Eren ! Long time no see since episode 2 haha !
Eren : But you weren't in episode 2..

Finally legendary ep.
When you see big girl starts playing at the end I can’t help but get chills man. Amazing ost.
I love that both of you are so into this show, it will just keep getting better.
Stay away from spoilers, Season 4 part 2 starts in less then 2 days and the internet will be full of AoT spoilers (massive spoilers). I really hope nothing from the new season gets spoiled for you.
The real AoT starts at this moment. Best show ever.
I agree whole heartedly,..
This moment never gets old.
This part in the manga was amazing, you had people in the front of the page talking and far back were Eren and Reiner with a tiny text, I was reading in autopilot then I finished the pages and was like... O-O... OoO... OmO... TmT

The music while they’re transforming gets me every time
Wow, excellent reaction guys especially after the one I just watched the one I watched before this these girls didn’t figure it out until they actually changed. Brilliant natural reaction.
Oh yeah, it only gets crazier from now on!
Buckle up. This show goes into hyper speed from here on in.
When I was watching the series for the first time I had actually been spoiled on this reveal, which was the only reason I could even remember Reiner's name. He was the only character other than Eren, Mikasa, and Armin that I could name by this point.
Every time I watch this episode, it just surprises me how casually Reiner told Eren that he is the armored titan.
Aaaaand here it finally is. The episode we've all been waiting for, ever since they started watching the show.
The music is insane
I'm just saying that I love listening to your speculations. In the previous episode, Kat talked about the connection between Annie and Marco's deaths and whether witnesses could be traitors. Well, what do you think now:))?
And the point of dehumanization of other people, which is somehow driven by the man-mad aspect of such classism, is very interesting. I mean, that is real-life shit and it is one of the reasons why I really love this show.
What I could recommend to you guys is going back to the episode and rewatching some important scenes again along with the discussion such as Reiner's dialogue. I would love to see it.
I'm glad you didn't figure it out earlier!!
It's ALWAYS fun watching people react to this for the first time!!! I never suspected when i watched this for the first time. More insanity in the future!!
Feels good to have followed this channel to this episode 8)

aaah yes, the episode where almost everyone thought that the subtitles were wrong or there was some lines missing, xD i was not buying it till they transformed D:
This episode blew my mind when I first saw it lol
you have to rewatch this whole show after season 3 and you will understand every little thing and literally everything will make sense then. what a great show honestly
this is where the series went from great to awesome and season 3 from awesome to masterpiece, can't wait for future reactions
