The real time when it was possible to become monopolist from middle business, was time 150-200 years ago.

Not to sound too much like Rick, but you can respect him when he does actually have that job. Being a water cooler trucker does not sound like an exceptionally challenging job interview to pass; the biggest hurdle there is getting a CDL.
One thing I've learned is having pure aspirstions are nice on paper but do nothing for the man who isn't working towards being there and walking the walk.
He needs a job at Home Depot. But I doubt he could hold his own against angry customers😂

I've been working building materials/millwork in Menards for 10 years and I can tell you the best way to react to angry customers is to not react at all. Show nearly no emotion with a hint of jaded exhaustion and they will either feel like (1) whatever they throw at you won't be nearly as bad as what made you that way or (2) get confused as to how their tirade isn't denting you. The silence will make them think about their tone.
Trust me most people that fly off the handle at me end up apologizing after and I act like it's nothin'. Sometimes they even come back with a new outlook.

He was an advertiser, held a position even he didn’t know what he did with the galactic federation and now he keeps bees as what I assume is a hobby.

this was the clip that made me realize Jerry is the opposite of Rick, he doesn't need much to be happy. Rick has a hard time finding contentment.
Jerry himself said something along the lines of “I’m easy to make happy, which is why nobody cares if I am.”

@@InfernosReaperI don't think that's necessarily true. He has plenty of room for improvement, sure, but he's not in the same sad state he was in at the beginning of the show. His arc hasn't been explicitly at the forefront very often, but if you notice, he actually took Rick's criticism of his parasitic attitude toward life to heart. He's not doing any of those things Rick criticized. He's developed more confidence, he's become more assertive about his wants and needs, he had the maturity to disengage from the Beths affair until he could handle it better like a mature adult, and he's cultivating meaningful hobbies like bee keeping (he could even try selling the honey they produce as a small business venture), and he even wrote a whole book that could have made him wildly successful due to its popularityin had it not been stolen. He has room to grow, but he's clearly bettered himself.
That's the whole "curse of intelligence" thing. Jerry's dumb, so he doesn't even understand what he doesn't have, and way easier to make happy as a result. Vice versa with Rick. S'why no one smart is ever happy.

Based on that fact, we can assume that off screen Jerry has been applying for a job, but it's just he doesn't got hired ...
Jerry’s ideal of a best life it’s actually really wholesome and respectable. Honest man honest work. Jerry isn’t perfect but doesn’t deserve the crap he has to put up with

And quite frankly, all he is in this scene is trying not to be “worthless” as you have described him. That is being humble in my opinion, to serve others. Like the comment above me said, he could have been easily like a super hero to really feed his ego, but here he just wants a simple appreciation for providing a simple good day of honest work…thats humility and self respect for himself.

I know Jerry started as a sort of boohoo joke character but these later seasons have me really rooting for him. I think Jerry is my favorite now.

This reminds me of the scene in Family Guy were Peter says that he wanted to be a Podologist, but abandoned the idea since he needed to work to support his family. Then it cuts to a scene of him performing that profession and he breaks the 4° wall to say that it wasn't a joke. He once had dreams and aspirations.

I relate to Jerry, all I want is a simple life. I don’t rly wanna be a trucker tho, I respect those guys but that’s a tough and sedentary job. I definitely want simplicity tho, I don’t want to be rich or famous or anything like that. Just to have enough to enjoy life

Maybe because Jerry is kind of dumb as shown by his daydream, since even a 20L jug of water would not last for several weeks (probably jsut a week or 2 at most) and if push came to shove the women could've still drank tap water or just gotten like a Brita filter or something

Jerry has such streamlined desires.
A man making sure youre hydrated can sometimes be the only way for him to openly communicate compassion.
I kind of respect Jerry for that. He just wants something simple and fulfilling, it's sad he can't get that
Being appreciated at a simple straightforward job is a pretty high bar to set.
One of the things that gets me about Jerry's 'dream' is that he's delivering water specifically. Not mail or food, but just plain water. In a way it's kind of like Jerry himself: bland and tasteless, but generally harmless. Unlike Jerry, however, water is essential, it's "needed."
And that's what Jerry truly wants. He just wants to be needed.

Adapting as needed, but water can also have immense destructive power… yet is integral to life on so many levels. There is so much potential in water. But of course, this version of Jerry is only looking to help society, and find fulfillment in a productive way that he knows he could excel at. This really is a beautiful little scene. For all the crap this show gets, sometimes the writers just casually toss in these unexpectedly deep scenarios as throwaway gags. It’s something else.
I think it was less about the quality of water, but more about how 'lifting' the water is more strenuous and most other scenarios don't have him directly interacting with the customer in relation to how useful he was.
Mail you slip in + comparatively low effort, food you pass on + not very hard either, plus he has the least amount of input into making food and so on.
All in all, i'd say the water was chosen for the sole purpose of expressing how he helps people with something they might not have been able to do otherwise, making hin feel useful, plus actually interacting with people who express how helpful he was. I don't think the intent of using water as an element was to reflect an aspect of Jerry.
I love how his greatest desire isn't being famous or being with someone else, he just wants to be appreciated

Not gonna lie that seems pretty nice to deliver water
It's not that nice a job. It's a suprisingly hard job.
I temped as a job working with one of those water guys for a week. Those 20L water jugs are surprisingly heavy to hold and to lug around. Those guys have to deliver 2 dozen or more jugs a day across a large area so it's like more then 100kms of driving in a day in a giant van that's hard to park or drive around in traffic. Also most people aren't that particularly grateful that you gave them water and some are even rude like how some construction guys don't GTFO of the way with their giant trucks when you need to go through.

Rick, Morty will resort to mass murder whenever things get difficult for him and only feels regret when it backfires on him, Summer admires Rick and wants to be just like him and Jerry is the type of person who's weak and powerless, but the second he's given power he abuses others who he feels wronged him
But that said... Jerry's also a simple man who wants a simple fulfilling job, and I can jive with that

“Breaker 1-9,” unfortunately. As cute of a headcanon as this is, Breaker’s pretty commonly used in truck driving radios, according to TV at least. If it weren’t for the fact I can’t leave the app without losing the short, I’d look up what it means.
