QUESTION* in one part of the video it looks like you are working on the rear passenger side and in another part it looks like the rear driver... which side is the main sending unit on?
I’m pretty sure I hear the fuel pump whir under the rear passenger’s seat, and my E90 still cranks but won’t start. I think I checked all fuses and relays and cleaned the MAS sensor Not starting makes it much harder to drive.
These cars sure are complicated. I would focus on the basics. Fuel, Air, Spark. If those checkout, then it's time to dig into electronic faults. We are currently dealing with a CAS failure on my son's E90. Starts and then shuts down after one second, with a weird clicking from the fuse box.
@ I’m trying to figure out INPA but it’s all in German. Thought I installed the language packs but 🤷🏻♂️. I’m not one percent the mechanic you are. But I’m without a car, which means no dating.
@@samgod Well, you are a step ahead of me with INPA. I've tried to load it in the past and have not been able to get it to work. I was thinking of buying it from one of the plug and play sources with it loaded on an external drive.
@@samgod Dude, that's awesome. Thanks for sharing. Any idea if it will run in Windows on a Mac? I'm definitely at the point in my journey where I need to man up and get Ista running in the shop.
Thank you. Have another question. So everything works normally but it still won't start it just turns over so my question is is there something else I should be looking for thank you and is there a fuse for the ECM thank you
It sounds like you are starting to get into some more detailed diagnosis here. My recommendation would be to hit my link to EmanualOnline shrsl.com/4r4ok and take a look at the schematic for your car. The manual will allow you to also look up other functions and descriptions to really dig in.
I really like brake clean for the really messy stuff. But that is prohibitively expensive. Typically is use "Oil Eater" degreaser and then in my pressure sprayer just clean water.
@@DrivingForwardBuilds Many thx - expense of brake clean was the reason i asked! i thought you may have been using some mixed solution with the pressure washer pickup nossel! Will be trying out the injector cleaner device! Cheers
@@rulebrakingthe cheapest I’ve found brake clean lately is Walmart. Right around $3 a can. Still a lot though. The injector cleaner works great. I’ve used it a few times now.
My father has the same car and it shuts off after coming to a stop and only cranks after a while driving and then after 30 minutes It turns back on, his mechanic could never find the problem and a certified bmw repair center is way too expensive should we just sell it?
That’s a tough call to make. These are pricey to fix. Depending on condition and mileage it has to be better to take it to an independent shop to get fixed. Broken BMWs are very tough to sell for much money.
Hey so I have the same diesel it’s starts but won’t run I try starting it with starter fluid it runs and then cuts off would that be the fuel pump as well?
With a diesel you have 2 pumps. A lift pump/low pressure and high pressure pump. You’d have to identify which side of the system is low on pressure. Sounds like you’re heading down the path of a fuel issue though.
@@DrivingForwardBuilds can you recommend the replacement pumps for the two diesel pumps? My BMW dealer is quoting $800 each and I like the price of the one you used a lot more
So on these cars the filter is incorportated into the fuel sender housing. The pump has a sock on the bottom, then it feeds through an integrated filter element.
@@DrivingForwardBuilds interesting. BMW is now doing what Honda has been doing for a long time. BMW fuel filters do last long though unless owner used bad fuel.
Allways love that feeling !
:-)
That excitement when you got it running!! Awesome project!
Thanks 👍 It's so fun when things work out... Now I am chasing a new Check Engine light. It's not going as planned. :-(
Looks like a fun project to tackle!
It's exciting. Kinda makes me want another broken BMW.....

I change my fuel pump but still crank not start, can it be crank sensor?

Is there a fuel filter in this car
