In EB3, which is the newest model, in order to make the camera stop detecting and recording you need to enter settings and change working mode to super saving. That means that if the camera is armed and monitoring the area and you are going to be around, you need to 1) tap on disarm button on the APP 2) enter camera configuration, enter working mode configuration, change it to super saving mode. It is utterly nonsense not to have a "Suspend mode" to do all that at once
Thank you for this. Great product, but I am not that happy with the recording time if you select 'High Performance' mode. It's too short. I know that the EZVIZ app on your PC has an advanced menu that you can access, which I thought I could up the time, but the menu isn't available for this device. Gee! I saw these camera and got them, but when I got home and started to set up, now the app is telling me that I need to need the hub, and by looking at your video I did not hear you mention any thing about an hub, so my question to you- do I need a hub and if so can I use any hub?
Good question - As far as I know, I think you can only connect the camera to 1 phone via the app. If another user tries to log in and connect to the same camera, I think it might disconnect it from the other phone, for security purposes. (Although I haven't tested this with the EZVIZ one, so can't say for 100%, but most security cams I have set up, all do the same thing)
Does the App support user defined notification sounds in an iPhone? I currently own Arlo cams and the Arlo app does not support a user defined notification sound in an iPhone. Only Android is supported.
EZVIZ BC1-B2 do not fullfil IP66 EZVIZ BC1-B2, 2 cameras with a base unit bought early 2022. Both cameras installed outdoor in Japan. Japan has high humidity (60-90%) and high temperature in summertime (35C+). The first camera gave up spring 2023. It seemed to have humidity inside. After drying indoors the picture became slightly better but not good. Today I noticed camera #2 had the same problem. The cameras are specified IP66. This can for sure not be true. Do not recommend these cameras for outdoor use in climate with high humidity and high temperatures.😭

Hi! Yes, you can do this when you set the camera to have Color Night Vision - it uses the sensors to turn on the 2 lights on the device when someone walks in front of it at night :)

Hi - yes, you can! If you have the EZVIZ app on your phone, then you can connect your phone to your dads WiFi, then connect that camera at your Dad's using the app, and then you'll have access to it from wherever.
It does have a 32GB onboard storage which it will continue recording to if connection is lost, but its better to have connection at all times if possible.
Hi! I believe this is a downside to the camera, there is no easy way to extract the video. What I've done is view my video history, and whilst its playing back, im screen recording on my phone to get the video. But, I think if you subscribe to CloudPlay, you can get the ability to download the recordings.
On testing the ezviz products after a considerable time, I've come to the conclusion they are being mis-sold. Ezviz advertise some of the cameras being able to insert SD Cards, they do that's correct. But if you try to playback any of these videos on a PC you will have a big surprise. All the videos are encrypted rendering them useless. I've switched off the encryption in the settings but it still records encrypted. So you won't be able to view the footage from your SD card directly from your PC. The pc software and mobile app are also all geared up to make them work seamlessly using the subscription service. Using the subscription service you're allowed to download the recorded footage to your mobile device, if you don't have a subscription service then you cannot download to your own device, you have to use the screen recording facility rather being able to download the footage. You lose quality using the screen recording and it's very laggy. After talking directly to ezviz is became clear they were trying to hood wink me with a load of faff. Ezviz claimed I could use the pc software to download the footage from the unit. That's doesn't work either, no units can be found on the LAN, so I can only assume they have put a stop to using this feature to force you into the subscription world. WIFI CONNECTION Now if you're still happy with the above and want to use the camera in a non WiFi area thinking the battery will last a long time think again. I tested this as I wanted to place a camera in a non WiFi area. The battery was fully charged and zones set up correctly so it didn't false alarm. The battery lasted 2 days maximum. Pros Good quality pictures. PIR sensor really good. Being able to create zones. Human only detection. Pretty cheap. Cons Subscription service based. SD card pointless. Pc software not functional. Mobile app swayed to subscription. No WiFi short battery life.
You're right that 32GB won't give a lot of history on continuous recording, and there isn't any local MicroSD card expansion option - but they provide a cloud storage option which is pretty cheap, and gives unlimited storage: www.ezvizlife.com/page/cloudplay

I've not tried this and dont think it will be easy to do, unless you can find ways to unscrew the bottom parts of the camera and be able to access the battery, but I think its not made for being easily replaceable/removable
I wanna install this a fair few metres away from our internet hub , will it still work or does it need a really strong wifi connection? There’s not a lot of information regarding this in any of these demos
My one is set up around 10m away from my router, but to make sure it has good enough signal, I have set up a mesh network with WiFi boosters in several rooms, so it is now about 3m away from a booster, to make sure signal strength is maintained. A few meters away should be absolutely fine though!

Hi! I haven't used this for that long as Its only been about 80 days, but after fully charging it & setting it up, I left it on battery for around 2 weeks and it dropped maybe 5% battery. But since then, I've connected it via the Solar panel so its always on charge. My only downside is that there is no SD card or storage where you can download clips - unless you have the cloud service. Hope that helps!
It depends where you've placed it on the wall and distance that part is from your wireless router. Mine is 10m from my router, on the same floor, and works absolutely fine.

This particular model is not connected to a base station, its standalone - so you can get as many as you want as standalones. Hope that helps!
Why not put it on the wall near the gate gives you more notice of intrusion
It won't pick up a strong WiFi signal from there, but that was where I first wanted to do it
as 32gb is not a lot - can you download the recordings and save then to say a flash drive?

better to recharge the battery every few months than having cables running everywhere

Ridiculous, the camera has a IR mode, yet you just showed the white light lamps. Waste of time video
