Since you’re asking about suggestions where to travel to, I’d very much like to see a lot more from South Africa and also many other African countries, why not explore all 54 African countries? Not many travellers do!
Hi Bip! Thanks for that suggestion. Africa is certainly a great shout. Such a wonderful continent to explore. I am definitely going to travel a bit in South and wider Southern Africa during my sabbatical.
Hi Samir, great to hear from you! Hope all is well in Batumi (if that is still where you are). I would love to visit Georgia again and see more of the country outside of Tbilisi. Stay safe!
@@willieexplore I have actually moved to Tbilisi from this year. Yes, plenty of places outside of Tbilisi to see. You welcome to contact me if you do decide to come again. I am always willing to assist fellow South Africans who visit here. Enjoy the rest of your travels!
Long time visitor to Thailand here, so a little friendly advice: As far as I can tell, you're a Male, so you say: KHOB KHUN KRAB. Not: KHOB KHUN KHA, which is the polite form for Females to say. no wonder they're smiling at you so much! Thais are truly polite and friendly, so they wouldn't say anything. And please don't bargain for food (and massages, etc) speciially when prices are displayed. ~We travellers and tourists are so rich compared to average working Thais, it could be seen as rude and rather colonial. ~By all means, bargain for clothes and souvenirs . Start at about a third off and go down in small increments, gently, and be flexible, prepared to come back up if needed: t's a playful exchange to reach a cordial agreement, not an exercise in forcing someone to obey your will! Take a moment to consider the amounts you're really competing for. I'm going back soon : I miss Thailand so much!
Thank you, Marisa. As you said, no one corrected me so I just continued with the Thai phrase I was told. At least I made the effort to engage in their language. But I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it, if you know what I mean. If you watch some of my other Thailand videos, you will see that I concur with you regarding food prices and I even tip the food sellers in the local areas. However, I disagree with you regarding food / street snacks in the tourist areas. You should absolutely bargain with them. As well as taxi drivers and tuk-tuk drivers. Yes, the price differential might not break the bank, but if you travel as much as I do, all your pennies count. It is also about the principle - anyone who thinks they are friendly without a financial motive is delusional. Not to mention the various scams across Bangkok in particular. Any economic transaction has a buyer and a seller and both parties should be happy. Hope you get to Thailand soon again!
Baie dankie Willie! altyd 'n plesier om jou videos te kyk! Ich bin schon gespannt, was dein nächstes Ziel ist! VSA suidelike state kan miskien interessant wees....
@@wanderingwelshman2858 I come from a family of miners, so I have a soft spot for the Welsh and the coal mining arm of your rugby landscape. You've given us some great players over the years, hope you can turn things around!
Hey Willie , Thailand series was awesome you did a fantastic job my friend , you were brave enough to try that scropion , I swear to god i would have never tried it myself 😅 I suggest you travel to Bosnia & Herzegovina next it's a hidden gem in Europe that not that many people know about . Have a safe flight back to the UK and we'll see you soon in another part of the world 👊👍
Thanks my friend, always a huge pleasure hearing from you. Trust me, I was very nervous about that scorpion! As for B&H, that is a great shout. I did go to Sarajevo and Mostar in 2018 and absolutely loved it. Maybe a bigger trip can be arranged. Stay safe brother!
Thank you Willie for this amazing series of adventure in Thailand I really enjoyed it from the first vlog till this one I felt travelled there because of you one day I will visit thailand and I'll remember your experience and of course your helpful tips except for eating scorpio for sure not for me mate not for me 😂 and finally I hope you return home safely.... Cheers brother
Hi Mark! Great to hear that you enjoyed this series, it was a bit of a tricky one to film (certainly in Pattaya and some markets). Hope you get to Thailand one day!
Brave man eating that scorpion 😂 Bangkok looks just as buzzing as I'd expected it would. 600 THB is about a third of what I'm paying to share in a dorm 😂 yeah, Pattaya doesn't interest me in the slightest. Thailand is in my top 5 countries, definitely looking forward to going back 🇹🇭
Loving your latest adventures in the US, mate! Cheers for checking out this video. The scorpion was not nearly as tasty as our Bunny Chow we had in Brighton. Definitely more affordable though - Thailand definitely a budget destination!
Really enjoyed seeing the market place; But there is no way I would eat any of those bugs, snakes, etc: I guess New Zealand is just too far away from England for you Willy. The two Islands are about the size of Britain. So doesn't take long to see much of the country. Well be interested as to where you choose next time. Safe journey home: Kiwi from Virginia.
Hi Swanoaks, yes I certainly had to muster up the guts to try that scorpion. It was the smallest of the "food" items and I think I would have struggled with the bigger ones like the centipede. New Zealand is certainly on my bucket list and perhaps I should visit sooner rather than later. Thanks for all your continued support and encouragement!
Sorry Willie but I covered my eyes when you ate the scorpion. Ghastly. Thailand is just not for me. I cannot find anything appealing about it at all and I am pretty open minded🤷🏼♀️. Great that your work is allowing you to take time off to travel. Looking forward to seeing where you end up next! ✈️😊.
Hi Sheila! Thanks for always watching and engaging. I agree with you that Thailand is not everyone's cup of tea. Clearly judging by my viewing numbers, that is certainly the case amongst most of my subscribers! But i learned valuable lessons on this recce trip. Probably the most valuable one is that I can do non-stop filming for three days, but then need one day's rest where I do no filming and editing and then another day for the editing. So 4/5 UA-cam days and 1/5 non-UA-cam days, if that makes sense. Definitely have a lot of travel plans for the sabbatical, but hopefully a few quick trips before then too! Watch this space :)
@@willieexplore I am sure the editing process is pretty complex and time consuming! Hope you manage to get your Scottish islands trip in at some point. Probably best to do that in summer when you just might get some sunshine😂
@@sheilam4525 I'm definitely keen for those Scottish Islands! I have a soft spot for an overnight ferry, so that will be particularly interesting. Yes definitely a summer trip rather than winter :)

Hi! Like many South Africans, I used to play at school and a little bit afterwards. But I doubt you would have seen me ;) Cheers for watching!

Very nice video, Willie Explore. Wouldn't eat a deadly scorpion myself, but to each his own, I guess!
Trust me when I tell you, Jasper, that it wasn't an easy decision! But when in Rome, hey? Cheers for watching :)
