Hi Rich, what happened to the Video on “How ta get a sound.” I couldn’t find it. S.O.S
Dear Mr. Brown, I'm Dutch. As a beginning bass player of 68 years old, I am very happy with your lessons. Certainly, as you yourself pointed out that beginners have difficulty using their little finger while playing, the exercises that go with it. Very enlightening. Many thanks and greetings, Sebastian.
Hi Rich, your online beginner student here. Can't wait to see that silver 100k milestone marker on your coffee table next to you too! Lesson 8 is really great by they way.
Thanks so much. I'm so excited to get my hands on that Silver Play Button, and that's exactly where it will be displayed. Lol!
Finally a teacher that can teach! You are magnificent .Thank you Rich!!!
Thank you for the first time I’m learning something about this bass I’ve had for years now!! You’re a great teacher and we all appreciate it!
Thank you Mr. Brown! I've been playing for many years. These refreshers are always nice. Basic fundamentals are something that we need to reinforce.
Hi mister Rich,l'am writing to you from Italy,l wanted to compliment you on the professionalism and clarity of your videos.l would like to ask you if a video will be released soon where It is explained how
Thanks- really appreciate how you are taking it slow compared to others trying just to dazzle!
Rich I appreciate this channel more than you know! Thank you!
Thanks Rich, This lesson has really helped me with my tiny fingers on this big chunky guitar. Love your lessons. Big thanks and lots of Love😍
Far out and thanks man... I'm actually learning something here and having fun at the same time...
Thanks Rich for the❤ for beginners!
I'm so glad I found you, brother! I really enjoy everything single vedio you put out. You're an amazing teacher! Keep the lessons coming!
Thanks so much, Justin. I'm so glad you found the channel, too! lol!
You're teaching is so relaxed, soothing and informative. Thank you! Absolute legend.
Hello Rich, first off let me thank you for your lessons. I’m 67 and am picking up the bass again for the first time since I was a kid! My question is, in this video, you referenced numbers that correspond with the notes. I must have missed when you explained how the fret board is numbered. Please explain, and thank you again for your time, these videos are awesome!
Brotha Rich, I love you, man!
Can you show us a similar breakdown for "Giant Steps" and how you would approach the fingerings. I consider myself intermediate and can't read music, unfortunately. This video has me going back to the basic as well
Thank you for being patient with us noobs😂😂😂!!!!
Hello Mr. Rich. I would love to have a jazz bass course taught by you!. I strongly believe that you one of the best bassist out there and I also think you have a talent teaching!
Great lesson. Thank you. May God bless you.
We can’t wait for lessons 9
Rich, you are the best!! I've only been playing for 6 days but have learned quite a bit from you. I LOVE your relaxed chill style.....it works for this old beginner!
Well... thank goodness, we move up another step.. thank you.
Another brilliant lesson. As a beginner it looked simple enough when I first viewed the video through, but as soon as I started trying it I found I had so many things to practice and learn in just one exercise - I'll be on this one for a while until I can (mostly) nail it . I'm loving it. Many, Many thanks
excellent. that was kinda fun.
I appreciate these videos, the super slow pace is great for dummies like me
The bb king of bass
👍👍👍❤️Thankyou 🙏
We are blessed to have you as a teacher, Mr. Brown! GOD bless you! I am picking the bass up after more than a decade hiatus, treating it like I never played before, and you give me hope I can actually learn how I have never learned before. THANK YOU!
Thought of you this morning as I tried to recall that initially difficult pentatonic idea that goes up & down the neck, do you recall it as I commented at the time... Anyway, I wrote it out, paper & pencil so it's there to be found!
Edit- Found it, the Monster one from June 2021!
Thank you. It's best to write these things down as they give you a better understanding, and it's easier to lock them in into memory.
@@richbrownbassYes, I've been doing it for years. The video was called 'Mother of All Pentatonic Exercises' 👍😊
Hey Rich thanks again, great teachings as always.
Question for you: if you had 1 book to recommend to a beginner/intermediate student who is learning by himself (no good teacher where I live), what would it be?
That intro make my face look i smelled a skunk🔥🔥
One question Mr.Rick, The distance between the neck and strings? Mine, I feel is to high. Any recommendation? Regards from Norway
That distance is known as the "action." High action definitely makes playing difficult. I suggest taking your bass to the shop for a setup. Getting someone to lower the action would help to make playing the bass a little easier.
Hi Rich, I support your channel but your output is appalling. Have you lost interest in the channel ?
Please see my last community post.
Great lesson! Could you do a lesson about how to get from intermediate bass player (stuck in one place practicing 2 octave scales, arepeggios, warm-up exercises, improvising and playing a bass line created on a fly to a backing track) to the advanced bass player and what to do, what to learn, what to practice, some theory to become advanced, some scale and arpeggio exercises but for the advanced bass player? IT WOULD BE SO COOL! And many people would benefit from this lesson. A genre playing lessons would also be GREAT for example how to play rock on bass, how to play metal on bass, how to play soul on bass, how to play motown on bass, how to play country on bass, how to play fusion (jazz-rock) on bass, how to play funk on bass and of course how to play jazz on bass guitar and how to start easily with walking bass lines and slowly become more fluent in playing walking bass (everything for intermediate/early advanced bass players) ! Could you please do lessons like this? It would be awesome! You are a great teacher and thank you for everything! I hope you will do lessons like these ideas I gave you in this comment. WE WOULD LOVE THAT! Greetings from Poland, Mike :)
How to extrapolate the bass line from a song, understand the duration of the chords in based on time. Thanks for everything.

Hello sir Um very thank full to you...I have never seen UA-cam bass teacher like you before..I Have done All the Beginners 8 lessons.. and it helps me a lot Again thanks.❤❤❤
Which Playlist should i Practice Next or what was the next step for me.. Please suggest me...
😊😊😊
Hi Mr. Brown,
The lessons are awesome, and I'm learning a lot. Would it be fair to say the upper part of the Fret board is for beginners and the middle is intermediate?
For this excersize, should I play the same NOTES as you called out while playing in the middle of the Fret board ?
Not necessarily. At least, I don't think the middle of the fretboard is for intermediate players, though I know some would disagree. For example, you can start the major scale pattern from this lesson (24-124-134) on the 8th fret of the E string. That's the note C. So, you'd be playing the C major scale using the following notes.
E string: C - D
A string: E - F - G
D string: A - B - C
G string: D - E - F
Does this make sense?
I'm passed the beginner stage partly thanks to the Man Rich Brown but I'm still here cause I always learn something.
Thanks, Douglas. I have some more intermediate to advanced lessons coming to the channel soon. Stay tuned!
Once again, thanks for the great lesson!
Focus. Thank you .stay well
Thank you so much!!!
