- We all know EXO's main vocalists, D.O., Baekhyun, and Chen, but here's an introduction to the most underrated vocalists of EXO, including Suho, Xiumin, Lay, Chanyeol, Kai, and Sehun.
Hello! It's been a long time since I uploaded a video. It's summer now so hopefully I can upload more frequently. I took the day off today to make this video! It's been requested since a long time ago that I should make a part 2 to my vocals compilation including the other members of EXO, so here it is! 'ㅅ'
Note: I'm uploading this video for the second time today because the original video was taken down for copyright. I had to replace the "I Want to Fall in Love" clip with the concert version. I might have to change out the "Hug Me" clip too but I really hope not :(

I'm not an EXO-L but this a straight up fact. I've heard more than enough groups these years to know that this is true. Exo members are all very talented but their technique is awesome. SM is the best when it comes to making sure their artists have vocal quality (aka awesome vocal techniques)

People that say EXO's lead vocalists are not that good at singing need to understand that they didn't become main vocalists not because they aren't good enough, but because the main vocalist trio (ChenBaekSoo) is just on another level. If EXO's lead vocalists debuted in another group, I'm confident they would be main vocal.

Yes ChenBaekSoo is just too godly when it comes to vocal but I'm sure Lay, Xiumin, and Suho can be main vocals in other groups. They are main vocal material too in my opinion.

It's exactly why SM produces the best among KPop vocalists I forgot which has said it but I agree that SM has some amazing and outstanding vocal training.

Basicaly if one's voice is not that strong but stable all along the song, that one will be considered the main vocalist even though there are better voices.

Among Exo members, Suho's vocals are mostly underrated. His voice has a heavenly calmness & stability which is mostly ignored by all of us
He makes their harmonizations sound like pure gold

SUHO used to be so unstable...and could barely reach highnote in live stages but then he is determined in improving his vocals n the result is damn
XIUMIN always got less line because he used to have stage fright in their early days.. So he was given less line... Also.. eventho he do blends with exo but his voice color is diff from the rest and sm dont favor his type of voice much.. 🙄But he is such a good singer even b4 debut
LAY is a hard worker! He excellently improve by practice and practice.. When he released monodrama it was such a big improvement.. He used to strain a lot but its gettin better
YEOL he is a rapper but then got interested in exploring vocal line~ his voice is so soothing and sexy.. He probably have one of the best vocals among all rapper idol
KAI originally get decent rap lines as that what sm dancer always do.. Rap.. But he is more interested in singin and been taking vocal lessons consistently ~sm didn't give him much chances to show his vocal skills.. HE DONT EVEN HAVE A SINGLE😭
SEHUNNIEEEE ppl always thought him tone deaf back then.. Its just he got lower voice.. Thats why hs singin sounded monotonous but then he improved a lot! He actually really shy in singin cuz he knows his hyungs are good... But then exo encourage him always.. N he start to have more confidence

Their different vocal range and technique make them an edge among the other group... if others just prefer to stan for visual or dance aura it’s vivid to stan on raw talent ... they solidify themselves throughout the years ... and it made them shine as a group and individual as well...

His voice is my favorite one in all of the music industry let alone kpop. But his voice is too unstable(I actually love his shakiness in his voice tho) and his range and technique aren't simply enough.

@@jaeger4524 The real problem with Nini is he is the main dancer and a perfectionist which means he will slave away his body to perfect his moves and since he doesn't have too many parts in the songs he mostly practices dancing instead of singing. So in order to make him sing you need to make him go solos with less dancing and more singing.

everyone is talking about suho and here i am want to promote yixing. damn ffs he is so underrated. his voice sometimes even gets autotuned in exos songs. but he proves that his vocal is sooooo good

Not even just Monodrama or Goodbye Christmas, I don't think some remember his OST track Alone/One Person which did also, win an award. His gentle vocal tone is a unique feature in EXO.
xiumin is the hidden ace💞
Here I said the only difference with Junmyeon and Jongdae is the range. I might even dare to say Junmyeon is slightly more stable. And give Jongin one or two solo and see the works of wonder. He is a workaholic and perfectionist if he try to make a solo instead of try to uphold his main dancer position he would immensely get better at singing.
Suho has an angelic head voice and strong belting.
Xiumin are damn great at hiting high notes
Lay has a great control
Chanyeol has charisma and hypnotizing voice
Kai and Sehun has Sexy low notes.

I think that the main reason that Kai Sehun and Chanyeol don’t get lines is because they have a deeper voice/not an alto/maybe not as wide of a range. Since kpop tends to favor towards altos.

Listening to Chanyeol and realizing that during some of these performances he was suffering from vocal nodules (later had surgery for it)... what a talent. The strain that singing like this does to vocalists, we should all give them our respect.

no hate intended but for those comments saying how chen baekhyun and d.o are "on another level" than the lead vocals, I just wanna say it's not that xiumin and suho are that far apart from the main vocals. honestly they just don't have the chance to show their potential. they prob don't even decide who does the high notes? rather than saying they are on another level , i rather say there are only 3 limited vacancies for main vocal and since xiumin is also in dance line and rap line while suho is the leader , the 2 of the them prob offered to give up the role ? I don't know. That's what I believe. I really hope their vocals will get recognised by their own company and sm give them more opportunities to show their vocals.
I think that they'rs on another level because if you watch their concerts, ChenBaekSoo are very stable. Like insanely stable. But Suho and Umin are often a little bit unstable when they're dancing.
Exo is a very talented vocal group. But to say that the lead vocalists arent that far from main vocalists is a bit disrespectful towards chenbaeksoo. Sure, i totally agree that xiumin, suho and even lay is a good singer. But main vocals' skills shouldn't be underestimated. Main vocals (not only exo's) execute the notes far more precisely and flawlessly than lead vocalists. I mean they are main vocals for a reason.
Having said that, these boys are all talented and give full justice to their positions. Suho is definitely the most developed among lead vocalists. He sounds beautiful.
Xiumin can actually hit higher notes than Chen
P.S. Xiumin, Suho and Lay can be MAIN VOCALS if they weren't in EXO

honestly people like kai and sehun; they have a unique way of singing, i mean their style is one of a kind. like their voice is actually nice but you can't compare them to the main vocalists like chen etc because its like two different styles. i really like jongin's and sehun's voice because its their own way of shining. then there's minseok, junmyeon, yixing, chanyeol who are, as we know, really really good vocalists as well!! lets face it, exo is a complete packaged group.

Suho has a really strong voice if you watched his musicals. His voice is different compared tohis voice in exo's songs and he's voice suits the broadway-ish kind of voice. Like seriously, he can do so much with his voice and he's really skilled and versatile. I hope SM will give him more musicals in the future.
