*Being defensive is fine every now and then.* As long as you remember to get off your couch sometimes to challenge and develop yourself! Learning is the key to success!
At the end of each video, you should show up a summarize of what you said. For example in this video you recapitulate all the defensive mechanisms and you explain, for each of them, in a few words what are they. This video is very complete but there's too many informations and I don't manage to memorize them all. Anyway keep up the good work
Defence mechanisms often times come from a lack of understanding for EMOTIONS and not letting them out in a proper way. Children need to be taught emotional intelligence, instead of geometry, so that they can have tools for processing their feelings.
Compensation is essentially just a combination of displacement and repression. Instead of thinking about the issue or blaming others, they substitute something else.
Excellent video PP!! BBD enjoys collecting gold nuggets from various sources for my own content & expanding my intellect. And your channel is always a great source of gold nuggets
My defense mechanism is to always think about the problem and then hopefully it will fizz away,,me thinking about the problem helps me realize that I can move on and just look into the future but that is also hard sometimes
Wow! I never knew there was a category called Sublimation! I fall under Sublimation.. Every time I am upset about something I start cleaning the whole house!
I have a defense mechanism my would be projection....when I'd try to avoid being too nice or too soft and refuse to take shit from someone who can't control their attuides,...where their frustrations would ,trigger me to get angry. If some one takes out on me underpressure or just remind myself to brush it off and ignore their negativites.I make a mistake after being called put on bullshit nonsense on order to learn better. If I react to criticism it's because I wouldn't wanna be disrespected or accused of being mean or egotistical.Usally if a meeting is called where everyone is involved I'll feel some type of way about it because if one person goes down then I would try to speak up fast to ensure I had nothing to do with nothing There's others who've done and the ones I delt with were crazy,Ignorant careless and selfishly too self involved with themselves.I wouldn't mind being called out on certain things if I'm wrong about something I'd say tell me so I can correct it but don't belittled me though.I refelect on drama but I'm working copping with my own problems to deal with them mature and manually as a civilized adult.Cause the last thing I Wanna do Is get, into some beef with someone over something stupid it's totally unhealthy and the last thing I need is negative tension to wreck my inner peace...I can learn from all my mistakes but grown from them I know it's not too late...things ain't easy cause I've been through a lot but I'm trying that's all I can say.
Don't feel terrible about being honest. It is through such honesty that you can empathize with others, even if you disagree with them. It is how you stay humble and gain wisdom. Embrace it :).
I took the test you made. Don't really understand the MBTI INFJ results when I only scored 31% on Conscientiousness. Is 31% high? Perhaps your test needs to be tweaked a bit.
I lost something expensive and than I tried to forget it even happened ... I failed something and avoid thinking about it . What am I supposed to change to
I'm my ex's defense mechanism. Displacement was his bag and I was the root cause of everything that pissed him off. It's good to know I control everything that happens in the universe. Woo hoo I'm omega!
what if i dont have a defense mechanisam i just eather solve my problem or if its bad weather or no my favourite snack in store i wont take it out on someone because it just sometimes be like thaz
Some peoples whole personality is a defense mechanism.
Unfortunately true :(
Are you just projecting?
1: Denial
2: Repression
3: Displacement
4: Projection
5: Reaction Formation
6: Regression
7: Rationalization
8: Sublimation
9: Compensation
The hero we needed
Saxon Hiebert thanks
Read the book in sheeps clothing.
Thanks!
I heard displacement also called manic depression

But he even said we are yousually rarely conscious about using these mechanims because we are doing it unconscious by nature.

How about both
1:21 Denial
1:40 Repression
1:59 displacement
2:57 projection
3:23 reaction formation
4:01 regression
4:40 rationalization
4:54 sublimation
5:30 compensation

This explained the defense mechanisms so well! There are a few that commonly confused me, but now I get it much more!
*_If you can become aware of defense mechanisms_* than you can take steps towards changing
Excellent video PP!! BBD enjoys collecting gold nuggets from various sources for my own

Thanks for this informative video about defense mechanisms.
Wow i do all of them.
I'll listen to these from now on. And seek what can i do with these.
My defense mechanism is to always think about the problem and then hopefully it will fizz away,,me thinking about the problem helps me realize that I can move on and just look into the future but that is also hard sometimes
Took the personality test... pretty accurate from results I’ve down with Meyers Briggs and big 5!!
Journaling is a great tool to get perspective and learn from ourselves so we don't commit the same mistakes over and over again
Keep the *PERSPECTIVE* of what the other person is going through, it’s not about you. 💯
Wow! I never knew there was a category called Sublimation!
I fall under Sublimation..
Every time I am upset about something I start cleaning the whole house!
me too its like different combination..like being so busy, crying and improving my self alot..
What a coincidence! I am reading a psychology book discussing about these mechanisms.
This was illuminating.. I hadn't thought of this before! Thanks for the video 🙏🙏🙏
true
The best way to deal with failure is to take immediate action to make sure it never happens again 🔥
i don't know what kind of books you read of what degree you have, but each one of your videos is on-point! r u even human?

Reaction formation is my type.
Through out my life I have done all 9, though not all at the same time, I feel a bit terrible admitting that. Haha

Great video. I thought that part of that is hereditary !! So hard to acquire .who agrees !?

Thank you
Good value in your video
I am displacement and repression
So I repress, projects and compensates, what do you ?
Repression is my way of going about things. Why harp on something you can’t change.
I lost something expensive and than I tried to forget it even happened ... I failed something and avoid thinking about it . What am I supposed to change to
Saying that being upset about taxation rather than making more money is displacement is just wrong. Terrible example.
I often use repression
I am 20% displacement and 80% repression
I love how most people here are here for school or interest, and I'm here because of the game Alter Ego
You can't spell best without Es
I'm my ex's defense mechanism. Displacement was his bag and I was the root cause of everything that pissed him off. It's good to know I control everything that happens in the universe. Woo hoo I'm omega!
It's repression for me
I think mine major two is rationalization and repression. I know when I am doing them but repress them. Lol
***Memes and repression are bffs***
what if i dont have a defense mechanisam i just eather solve my problem or if its bad weather or no my favourite snack in store i wont take it out on someone because it just sometimes be like thaz
Sounds like denial lol
@@Khrene no, denial is when you think that there is no problem and nothing bad is happening
Your video is good sir... but you forget the highest kind of defense mechanism. Where is humor ?
I display displacement and regression. Its kind of embarassing but its me
Ultimate defense mechanism: self deprecation.
Then why do some people stay in abusive relationships?
Sigmund Freud is a legend
Plz make a video on how to make money online
Wait but what if I don’t do any of them ?
I thought it was Anna Freud's?
Anybody else fits into all of those ? Just me ? Okey .
“ maybe he’s making up for something”
Where is fantasy
I have the sound in my ear for 20 day now
I want to die
Edit: Repression is my reaction and regression
😍
I'm 1, 2, 6 and 9 :')
I use Repression a lot xD
I like to send these videos to people I hate ha ha ha ha
I just repress.
Reaction Formation definitely isn’t talking about Tsunderes... Baka.
Lol if you made more money they'd take even more taxes
Please, speak faster 😒
