- VN24 - 07.03.2022 - Oelde A2 / Germany - A semi-trailer truck loaded with rapeseed crashed on the A2 freeway at around 14:10 hrs. For reasons that are still unclear, the driver had left his lane shortly before the Oelde junction at the height of Otmar Alt's art cube (Landesgartenschau 2001) when he steered to the right into the ditch while driving in a westbound direction towards Dortmund. There the tractor got wedged in the soil, the fifth wheel plate broke off from the chassis and the tipper trailer fell onto its side. Fortunately, the driver was not injured. With great effort, the tractor had to be salvaged and the loaded trailer had to be put back on its wheels. Specialists from the Horstmann recovery company took over the work with two heavy tow trucks and their winches. The ditch was then cleared of the lost rapeseed grains using a wheel loader and cleaned.

It would appear the driver was not paying attention to the road for some reason. The familiar Horstmann crew did a good job with the recovery. Shame about the loss of the Rapeseed, not cheap these days.
Why would drivers in Germany pay attention to the road ? German lawmakers believe it is the vehicles that should pay attention and avoid crashing, not the drivers.

Very good recovery. Hope some of the rapeseed (oil seed) was recovered as well and could be used. The "older man" dud a very good job 9f showing the young apprentices how to right the trailer. He was certainly having a fun day.

Wow they were struggling with lifting that snatch block at about 9:45 . How heavy is it? Seems at least 50kg! And what an interesting job, glad the driver was not hurt!

Ich sehe viele Situationen, in denen Schutzausrüstung nicht ausreichend getragen wird. Ist es in Deutschland eine freiwillige Entscheidung, Schutzausrüstung zu tragen?
so , freiwillig , ist das auch nicht , ich zb , arbeite viel mit mpotorsägen , da ist schnittschutzkleidung , schnittschutzstiefel und helm pflicht , in vielen bereichen sind schuhe mit stahlkappen pflicht

Scheinbar gibt es gut gefüllte Briefumschläge. Die unfähigen Mitarbeiter dieser Firma sind nicht in der Lage, eine korrekte Bergung durchzuführen. Alles nur mit Gewalt, wodurch sich die Schäden stark erhöhen. Am schlimmsten ist der OPA mit den langen Zotteln.Zum 🤮
