I usually take Kommando's with Boss Snikrott and use them as a way to take an objective in the enemies rear mid to late game. They allow the enemy to get confused and they can take hopefully an objective and take out a unit or 2 around it. Especially as I play Evil sunz, I can then get a unit in to support them in a trukk, battle wagon or on bikes and such. It can hopefully split their deployment if the disc gods bless you!
My favorite unit in the dex. Such cool models, are super freaking useful. Put them on the middle objective and laugh at your opponent when they can't do damage because of stealth.
Still new to 40k, only played one game so far. Planning to add kommandos to tie up my opponents army, even if it’s just a piece, until my squighog boys and Mozrog are in range for a Waagh charge. If the kommandos survive a turn, probably pull them out to see if I can separate part of the other players army. Haven’t worked out how to do it in a game but it makes sense in my head lol
komandos also have the stealth ability which is a -1 to hit for ranged weapons. Pear that with Snikrots constant cover ability and you can make quite a sticky units for gun lines to deal with on a midfield objective, that if they leave alone might just end up jumping behind there lines or even just jump out of the heat if there being focused to a safer point to guard. I see a lot of potential for at least the one unit of kamandos being lead by Snickrot to screen and harass your opponent.
If you're looking for a possible rule for the breacha ram, maybe trim back the base stats a hair (or not), and make it anti-vehicle? I can just see this guy pounding holes in rhinos.
You can always build more bud. I think, even with sluggas and choppas they will be good. Your kommandos will be far better in combat than if you had kitted them all out with fancy weapons.
What do you think of Snikrot? He has a savage melee profile, buffs the defensive of Kommandos, and gives them a cheeky teleport... Worth the point cost?!
I'm new to orks and been looking forward to this one, as well as looking good, having infiltrators is quite useful, I think. Do you just get the kill team box of them or normal unit box?
They are the same sprues. Obviously, you get more stuff in Kill Team box (veteran guardsmen, lots of orky terrain, and the Kill Team rules book) so if you can find one, and want the other stuff (or can share) it's not a bad deal.
@@B__C__ thank you, buddy. Weirdly, the sets are selling for quite a lot on eBay etc. But they're still available in the online shops quite reasonably 👍
@@efinel Oh, I just meant finding a random pre-built unit of not-fully-painted (maybe not even primed) burna boyz _if you didn't want_ to invest in a new box. Usually you can find the whole unit at auction for about $13 USD (there's one set w/spanner going for about $7 right now for auction tomorrow). Otherwise you could also just buy a single set of burna bits for like $2.50 USD from a bits dealer (if you happen to have a single spare, armless, 1990's boy laying about--since the arms and weapons [and heads!] are all interchangeable between those kits). Anyhow, good hunting!
Kommandos are the first warhammer figures I bought. Really like their style. But weird that they removed the sniper and shock gun in the non kill team rules 😮
Breacha Ram should've been given some sort of Mortal Wound output ability. I'm planning on building mine with all of the fancy gubbins as they've all got some potential for fun gameplay AND that way you also have a Kill Team squad ready for games there. I'm also planning on using the spare Choppa/Slugga arms from the Kommandos kit to try to convert the 4 Shoota Boyz in the new monopose Boyz kit so that they're all wielding Choppaz and Sluggaz 🤞
Hi steve, i think dat this unit is awesome if you know how and when you use it, very squishy as u mentioned in video... total agree, i will put only one squad of these on my list cause boss snikrot leading, now about boss snikrot i guess dat -1 ap on melee is low for a boss , i wish that be 2 make more sense for 100 pt cost, btw nice video, nice unit, see nex time 😊
Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful as I'm new to 40K. I hope you can help me with the concept of close combat weapons. Are these weapons in addition to a unit that has a ranged weapon, and a melee weapon? Ex, if a model has a slugga, and a choppa, do thay also get a third weapon in close combat weapon? would this weapon be a second melee weapon, or does close combat weapon signify a specific weapon? Or, does that close combat weapon replace a choppa, where in this case teh unit would have a slugga and a close combat wepon? but then why would that even make sense since the stats for close combat weapon appears to be less favorable to some of the other named weapons? I'm ompletely confused why close combat wepaon is even an option, where there are actual named close combat weapons. Thank you so much!
Hi. I'm glad you are finding my vids helpful. So. Close Combat Weapons. These are basically a generic starting weapon. They get no armour penetration, no bonus attacks or extra strength. They just use the models basic stats. They are the stats you use if the miniature doesn't have a better weapon like a choppa or powerklaw etc. Example. Ork Boyz can either have a Slugga and Choppa. Or Shoota and Close Combat Weapon. Close Combat Weapons are basically the equivalent of not have a weapon. Or using their fists or butt of a rifle etc. Hope that helps?
That ability to drop in with Snikrot is deadly, makes him worth painting up.
It's going to be nice seeing more characters in people's armies
Yeah I think most characters are worth using on the table now. They all have something to offer.
You helped me get into orks in the before times and I always look forward to your excited, relatable and casual based content.
I really appreciate that mate. Comments like this fuel the fires. 😊
Orks orks orks and Steveo o o. !!!! WAGHHHHHHHH

Thanks for sloggin through the infantry for us this has been a fun series too watch
It's been fun to make and I have been learning as I go. 😊
"No Overwatch!"
I intend to use these sneaky gitz against my friend who runs 1000 Sons Rubrics with warpflamers.
That will spoil his day! 😅
Absolutely love the kommandos! Thanks for making the video mate! Always enjoy a good info/guide on them
They are awesome!
Thank you , Stevo .

Nice tactics!
@@6Stevo I got a Plan ladz! 🤐😏
Snikrot and a unit of kommados give them Ere We Go for a 7 inch deep strike charge. What’s not to love
😈
Thanks for the video!! I have my squad all primed waiting for paint!! cant wait till the next video!! well done!
Hope you enjoy it!
I'm really enjoying this series!
Great info!
Glad you enjoy it!

I think they're great. 👍

Sounds like a good plan.
Sneaky gitz!!!

Can’t wait for the next ork/necron odd couple report with Nick🙂
Well I may have some good news for you soon..........

They will certainly be an annoying unit for the enemy.
I like that the breacher had the same statline as the powerclaw. Good game design, speeds up the play
Yeah, i see your point. Too many weapons with too many individual stats and rules does slow down gameplay.
Fair point.
If you're playing with the mission deck, their infiltrate ability is amazing! Stealth is a pain for your opponent too!
Nice!

That's a cool idea.
The kommandos seem to be an extremely Versatile Squad
Yeah loads of cool and interesting options, good abilities and lovely lookin' minis. What's not to like?
I call mine the "Purple fist Kommando's" cuz have ya ever seen a purple ork fist?
I haven't....
I’m a bit annoyed the only option my Kammandos have built are the Breacher Ram. I didn’t build the burnas or anything else. Ugh.
You can always build more bud. I think, even with sluggas and choppas they will be good.

I will be looking at him in more detail when I come to doing the character vids bud.
But yeah, the ebilities he offer the kommandos are really nice!
So happy you are back on the reg🙂
So am I! I have missed it.
I'm new to orks and been looking forward to this one, as well as looking good, having infiltrators is quite useful, I think.

Breacha ram should have the Blast keyword
Now that would be cool! 💥

I guess they thought there would just be too much going on. But yeah it's a shame for sure.
